they left a voice mail saying that a credit card associated with a social security number and address associated with my phone number had some fraudulent activity and to call them,  I didn't,   I always check out numbers i do not recognize here first.  so the verdict is i will not call them back and they are a Scammer... thank you to all who have posted.

Just remember your bank will not leave information about your social and address on your message( that was my first clue it was a scam) your bank will say to call your local branch with the bank name or they will put a freeze on your card if they suspect fraudulent activity so you have to call them.

Previously used phone number 404-334-9988. The address is apparently a "virtual office" (phone answering and mailing address). Kept hounding me seeking information (we do not have debts, never have had an unpaid debt) and would not quit (one male even said calls would continue until I provided information). Finally sent a cease and desist letter by certified mail. Calls from previous number stopped -- for about a month. Now a call from this new number.

This Company is legit and not a phony. 404-382-8637.  My lawyers investigated and  we found out they work to resolve debt owed payday loans. They gave me a settlement to pay off a payday loan that I owed from 2012. But  I agree the people who work there suck; they are not customer service oriented.

Wow, charged with false info to collect unemployment!  Maybe she'll get her mythical lawyers "Rosenthal" and "Stein" to defend her!

When I get these collection calls this is what I do?.
I tell them:
A.    I am a victim of identity theft.
B.    I never took out a loan
C.     The person you are looking for is dead
D.     I included  this payday loan in my bankruptcy
E.     I do not know the person you are looking for.
F.     The person you are looking for is in jail.
G.     I am homeless, unemployed and broke
H.    Pay day loans are illegal in my state.
I.    Somebody stole my wallet
J.    Then I go online, and sling as much Internet Mud at them as I can, calling them scams and I hope some of it sticks
K.    PS I am never gonna pay this loan back; I never intended to and I never will. Screw it and Screw them!

These dumb a** called me again different number so I called them back like 10xs and harass them back.

I cannot stand dealing with bill collectors.  I am pretty sure I  already paid off all my payday loans. Why do these c*** suckers  seem to like calling me so much?

Okay, okay so I admit it! I was wrong. ..AND THAT SUCKS.I had forgotten all about this loan and even who I owed it to!! Initially I cursed this dude out?.(but then I finally remembered getting the loan  and then I also remembered not paying it off) !! Okay, okay so I admit it! I was wrong.

I just received a phone call frm 404-382-8637 and what some of you guys said sounds very similar to my situation. I actually applied for a payday loan and got denied so if someone is trying to us my SSN.. they are S.O.L. because if i couldn't get a payday loan.. I'm sure they can't get a new line of credit anywhere.. But receiving that call made me a little uneasy. I will NEVER apply for a payday loan again..

My call was just like some of the above.  I looked up the number...BOGUS...funny; I wanted to see just how far they would go...and if they would try to weedle my SSN and other information out of me.  I threw the second fella off guard (said his name was John Marshall) and he said "I'll call you back!" ;-)

This is my first time with this "law firm" scam...but, today I got 6 OTHER NEW TYPES!!!!!!  Plus, I'm getting the hangup and the female voice saying "goodbye."  There were a series of this type of calls long time ago!!!

I'm on the do-not-call list; but, it doesn't seem to work!!!!!

Virtually everything you have described in this call is a violation of law. We can therefore conclude that the posts above claiming "this is legit" were actually made by the individuals behind this attempted fraud.

And, yes, you are quite right that they probably got your personal information when you applied for a loan on line. Be careful ? you may be a target for identity theft now.

This Company said I owe them. When I asked them to send me any sort of proof they refuse. I ask them to give me a fax number so I could fax them a letter saying I didn't owe anyone but again he refuse. He says he's not a Debt Collector yet when I asked him why is he calling me he got very upset. I just hung up on him.

This number called, when I held on and got to a person I explained "I am sure you are calling this number by accident" The man on the other end of the phone asked me to verify my number. I repeated my number He responds with, "we don't have that number in our records, and we can't remove information we don't have" *click*.
Yup hung up on right then and there, I am sure this is not a legitimate business with this type of practice.

I am still getting calls from this now blocked number.

Got a call saying that they were from a law firm, and that they had identified fraud associated with my bank account, social security number, and my phone number, and they believed that I was involved in this fraud.  This is a scam.  If it is actually a payday loan or debt collection, they will have you call a toll free number.  I believe that I know what this is about.  I applied for a payday loan on-line.  My payment to them didn't go through.  I was contacted by somebody with a heavy foreign accent stating about fraud, prosecution, credit score, being reported to the district attorney, etc.  He was from a weird area code.  He wanted me to fax an agreement with my ATM card agreeing to pay by a certain date.  Received a phone call from a similar company, saying the same thing.  I faxed in a form.  They also charged me. I called the company back and said that I had been charged twice.  Each of these companies said that they weren't the same company, and said that the other company was fraudulent.  When I saw my bank statement, I saw that there were two transactions that didn't belong there.  I called the payday loan, and they said that they had run it through again and it went through.  They warned me about this kind of thing, saying that it is very common.  I went to my bank, and they said the same thing.  They reversed the charges on both these transactions.  These companies have access, somehow, to your on-line payday loan applications and know your contacts.  That was over two years ago.  Since then, my boss, my mother, and my friends have  received calls from somebody looking for me.  I tell them all it is a scam and to ignore it.  I also get calls from law agencies, calls stating that they are from investigations, collection agencies, etc.  They all have weird area codes.  I ignore it all.  It is a scam.

I really did owe the money for a payday  loan...so I  paid it....I paid mine  even though it hurt my feelings and pissed me off when I got their phone call to remind me about it.

I had forgotten about this bill. I was unemployed and could not pay it back then. (actually 2years ago). they gave me a settlement. I paid it. and they sent me proof  of my payment. they should  talk a little nicer on the phone though.
