received the same message this morning for an iphone5. Thanks for the posts that kept me from calling this scam. I have been having trouble with dropped calls on my Verizon phone and I thought this was a response to that complaint.

Got the scam SMS text message from 813-503-4192. It is criminal and trying to rip off. Do not follow.  SMS sent by this suspicious company    iappletestandkeep.com

just got a text message from a 404-747-8673 about the iphone 5. if you aren't sure, google appletestandkeep and you will see that it is a scam.

Got a message from (678) 545-8306 at 11:41 pm.

I just got one about the iPhone5 and almost fell for it. I'm glad that I decided to look up the website and numbers. Thank you guys! This company is extremely smart to get all of our information...

Just got a message from (404) 502-2785 about iPhone 5, I'm a student in Iowa.

I just received this message today Feb 12th at 12:02 am. from a different # 404-444-8838

i got the same text about a iphone5 from 404-680-7636

Same text...from 678-756-3297

I also received this text today. The number was 404-374-5619 with New Cingular Wireless from Atlanta, GA.

I know Virginia Tech automatically lists student contact information on their website and you have to opt out of it to keep the information private. So, your information may not have been sold.

I am also a Utah student.  I also got the same text but also from a different number: 404-398-7416. Lame scam.

I am University of Utah student and just got the message from 404-398-7616. I am very angry because it seems somebody working ar u of u sold our information to those guys.

U of U student as well.  Just got this text earlier today.  
"Sean, as a Utah Student you have been selected to Test & Keep the Unreleased IPAD3.  go to blah blah blah.  Here's your secret code, just a few more steps to go, and you will complete the SCAM!"

I also got this same ipad3 scam sms from 6787613507....sadly there are a lot of people who will fall for this type of scam. I agree with Jason I wonder who sold our info, or who got hacked.

I got this same message, as a Utah student. The number it came from was the number mentioned above. 678-761-3507. I almost fell for it as I just registered to win an iPad 2 from the school. Scammers suck

I also received a similar text from this number, "as a UNC student You have Been selected to Test & Keep the Unreleased Ipad3. Goto ..." same website and directions. Seems they have multiple schools' information... :(

I am a parent registered to pay tuition on line, NMSU. I got this phishing message at 09:04 MST. Contacted NMSU authorities and waiting for a call back.

Phone was 4044146284, offer was to test and keep a pre-release iPad 3.

I got the same "nms student" text message.  thanks to the previous peoples who warned me.

I also got the same message at around the same time. Its a scam, don't fall for it. They want you to sign up for all sorts of offers that you'll end up pay for (ie. subscriptions). Plus, Apply is pretty hush hush about their newest hardware. Do you really think they'd let college students test them out?

I got a text message from this number around 8 am (mountain time) and it says "as a New Mexico State student you have been selected to test and keep the unreleased Ipad3"

Received a phony text message about testing and keeping a prototype iPad3 with a link.
