Just got a call today, from these people. Call came in at 8:20 AM. Caller ID said "Anonymous". But, I checked caller ID **after** I had picked up the phone (big mistake). Woman on other end told me she was calling from Habitat for Humanity. I politely requested to be removed from their computerized calling list. We shall see whether that request works, or not! BUT... Here's the kicker... I always thought that telemarketers and/or fund-raising organizations are supposed to NEVER call prior to 9 AM, and also supposed to never call after 9 PM. Am I correct about these hours -- isn't that the law? I mean, if she "really" was calling from HfH, which is supposedly a reputable organization, then wouldn't such a non-profit respect the time-frame of allowable calling hours? Or, is my assumption mistaken?

Well, I'll be. Not sure what I'll be, but apparently Habitat for Humanity really is hounding folks via phone calls for donations. Like many of the others, I've given in the past. I'm going to try and call them and get on their do not call list. If I can get hold of them, they will be told that any more phone calls and they will never receive another donation from me.

Countless calls from Habitat. Averaging a call from them in the neighborhood of 4-5 times a week. Very annoying - After a few calls, I have begun either muting the rings or taking the phone off the hook and let them give their pitch to my dog. Realize they are a charity organization - but I would think that these phone calls are killing them - sure lost any donation from me.

1-404-418-6855 ~ continual calls marked "Private # " - and no message left. Annoying. Habitat for Humanity??????

Received another call this morning (Saturday) at 8 am. I have stopped donating to Habitat because of these annoying phone calls.

I filed a report with Habitat, thinking that maybe some spammer was using Habitat as an ID in order to spoof the called person. I was receiving multiple calls on three different numbers. They responded very quickly and said that they would remove me from their call lists -- which I guess is an admission that they were, indeed, placing the calls. I'd like to say that Habitat For Humanity is, in my mind, a wonderful organization. In fact I volunteer for them. Please don't judge them entirely based on the irritation caused
by the apparent aggressiveness of their fund raising campaign.

The number is currently on switch number ATLNGAHPDS0 (switch is a technical specification for phone hobbyists) .

Like most people who have written here regarding calls from Habitat, I have given in the past, but now, because of all of these calls I've been getting, I'm thinking that I will never donate to them again. This is unfortunate...
The caller ID said 'Private Caller' this last time, but prior to that it would say 'Habitat', at least & be from 404-549-5386.

I had a call two days ago from these people and then one came in last night quite late. I'm sure they have hired some people who have had the pleasure of getting a home and that's super, but these calls violate the do-not-call list that I am on. They will soon find that NO one with donate to them and I will be one of them.

I didn't believe this was really Habitat (even though it was on my caller id) until I read all these posts. they stopped calling me for awhile but are now at it again, calling every day and never leave a msg. I keep making complaints with do not call registry but I do know charities are okay with them...not with me. thanks to all for information.

I want all calls from Habitat to cease. This is a sure way for you people not to get donations. I have stopped donating to Habitat because of these calls. I have 3 different numbers in front of me from you people. It's an invasion of my privacy. I will do everything in my power to block you people. As far as I'm concerned you and your goodwill don't exist.

OK: here is the trick. I called their international headquarters at 1-800-habitat. I spoke to a very pleasant operator and she confirmed that 404-418-6855 was in fact one of their marketing contractors. I simply explained that 6-8 robotic phone calls in a week is an invasion of my privacy. "My wife and I have given, often, to Habitat and support your efforts. However, we NEVER donate in response to telephone calls. The next call we get will mean the end of any future donations to Habitat." She took my name, zip code and phone number. She seemed quite reassuring that she would get us removed from their call list.

This is Habitat for Humanity. I make one donation, and they call 3 to 4 times a day. Hey Habitat, last dime you will ever get.

Calls constantly. I did make a donation, but will never again.

I get at least 2 calls from them a day. I got one 2 days ago at 9pm. I had just got my baby to sleep and the phone ringing woke him up...if there was a way to smack someone through a phone, I would have done it! They call at such odd ball times of the day.

I have been receiving these calls recently, several times a day. I have contributed to Habitat for Humantiy but have never given them my landline number. Because of this constant calling I will not contribute to Habitat again.
| Don in California 2012-03-08 03:50:52 Unknown |
ME TOO! I respect Jimmy Carter and Habitat, and used to contribute, but this is most annoying and I think I will discontinue my support of Habitat.

did not answer. i called the number back and got a message. pushed 1 to hear more about their company, Listened to their message, wait......., received the option "3" to not receive calls like this in the future, entered home phone number, was told it may take up to 30 days to be removed but "every effort" would be taken to not be called again asap. 11-09-2011 18:00:00

STOP CALLING ME!!!!
| Gina 2011-10-28 23:41:01 Unknown |
I agree with the above post. I donated in the past to Habitat, but I won't any longer. The calls are quite annoying. Also, isn't it strange that a national organization such as this did not come up first when the number is googled? Is it a scam? Someone pretending to work for them?

These people call several times a day, literally every day. I have been a big supporter in the past, but this is getting to be ridiculous.

I received a call from this number and it's Habitat for Humanity. They used call about every month. What I've done, and I can do it with the Land Line telephone service I have (Phonepower.com) is to utilize a feature they call "selective forwarding". What you are able to do is enter a number you want forwarded, in this case (404) 418-6855 and then enter a number you want it forwarded too. The number I have selected to forward these, and other calls to is (800) 422-4828 which is the Corporate headquarters for Habitat for Humanity. By the way, if you have a Land Line this is a great service and feature. In addition to selective forwarding, you can also block up to 50 specific numbers. Our unwanted calls have gone down to almost zero.

no message. will add to block calls feature on my phone.
