Calls almost everyday, 2-3 times a day sometimes.
If you let it goto the answering machine they hang up. When you pick up there's no one there and it disconnects.

Losers ....

This person calls every day - I never pick up. No messages left. Such a nuisance.

Have been receiving calls from this number for several days now. (It seemed odd that AT&T would do an outreach to its customers, so we ignored them until now.) Our AT&T account is in my brothers name. Although I was miffed that they'd call at 8:30 at night (8:29pm) I picked up and quizzed a young lady about the call. Everything she said seemed legitimate to me. She knew my brother's name and spoke about the eventual elimination of DSL service and switching to AT&T U-verse. DSL is stone-age copper wire telephone/internet service with limited data capacity (We have a wireless router internally but the source is still good old copper wire). AT&T wants to eliminate the copper wire and telephone poles to save money.
I asked the woman directly what her geographic location was and she said the job was out-sourced and she was in Jamaica, mon! (I can't verify this) She offered a debit card (good customer) to switch to the U-verse service. We've only recently ordered the Elite DSL service.

I asked her to take us off their call list and she politely agreed and also pro-offered the web address of the Federal No-Call List. We have an AT&T U-verse Store within walking distance and we intend to go there and clarify the issues. The transition from DSL to Wi-Fi is almost mandatory.

I hate unsolicited calls as much or more than anyone out there, but again, this one seems semi-legit.

call 1-888-382-1222 to file a complaint. Just follow the prompts . Good luck.

I pick up the phone waited for a human to talk to all  I herd was dead air  and they tried to forward the call  and herd  disconnect message   not att   scam

 The caller ID said it was AT&T services, so I answered it. After I said "Hello," several times, a woman with a foreign accent responded.  She wanted to know if I were the person who made internet connection decisions at my house and then went on to say AT&T was no longer going to support DSL services.  I cut her off with telling her I had wireless service, and she immediately hung up on me.  I should I known that there was no reason for them to call me in the first place at almost 8:00 p.m. I feel it's definitely a scam of some sort and will call AT&T to report it to them tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone who has posted.  We have AT&T Land line which is now unplugged because of all these calls.  I do have a caller ID separate so I can check a couple times a day and return phone calls to those that I want to.  We also have our internet with them not much choice where we live.  I am so glad to know that it is a scam or a debt collector.  We owe no money but that does not stop debt collectors from calling and asking for other people to get information which I would never give to a third party.  You are right about the 800 number that they use and that they leave messages but I had forgotten that.  Very helpful post.

Trying to get me to take a bundle from AT&T for fiber optics internet bundle with phone....callled twice..kept trying to find a deal that I would accept..different packages....very persistent!! Finally got rid of them!!

Received 3 calls from them this week, they leave no message, answered this one today.  Voice was Indian, she called me by my surname.  I wonder if this is all something to do with the Target date theft.  Call the police on this one.

This is a criminal scam. The real AT&T calls from an 800 number and leaves a message on your answering machine if you are not in.

They called here in Texas this morning.  Talked with my husband saying we needed fiber optics to get better service.  They sounded like an accent from India.  When my husband asked for their number, they hung up!  IT'S A SCAM!!!!

Whether this is really AT&T, or a scammer posing as them, I don't want to talk to either caller.  I've told AT&T to stop calling me, but knowing them they could be doing it anyway.

Got one call around 5pm on my birthday of all days.  I was thinking, "Who loves me?"  #$%*(@ AT&T.
AT&T could have a legit call center in Georgia or many places, but they have no reason to call me--except to sell more services.

I never answer calls I don't recognize.  Sometimes I hang up on it, since I know there's going to be no message, and they are going to hang up anyway.

This is a criminal fraud pretending to be AT&T. The 404 area code is GA. My phone bill has a number for account service in my own western state area code. I mail my bill payments to an address in IL.

Someone from this number has called 5 times today, and several other times over the past week...as late as 9pm EST.  On the last call, I finally picked up the phone and told them to stop calling....I have sick kids.  I hung up before they could say who they were, but the caller ID says that are an ATT service center.  We have ATT, and no problems with our accounts, so this must be bogus.  I am about ready to cancel my land line over this harrassment.  Then ATT can provide me with a service call to refund my money..

They did not leave a message on my answering machine. I suspect a fraud.

Called today, November 9, 2013, 4:25 p.m..  Asked to speak to me by my first name, like she knows me.  I replied she's not in.  The woman asked when should she call back.  I said she's out of town and I don't know when she'll be back.

Anyway it's AT&T Service Center.  Hope this helps.
