I just received a call from this number, accent could barely understand.  Wanted employee verification and identified themselves as UCB, representing PG Hospital.  Called number back, got a recording that it's a non-working number.  BULL - it works when they want something.  Tell them to put it in writing.

It is a place that wants to talk to you about continuing your education. Said I had checked yes on a survey. I got tired of getting the call 3 times a day and called it. I also signed up for the freebies.

The Do Not Call list only applies to telemarketers who are offering goods and services.  Honest companies do compare their calling lists to numbers on the DNC and remove them.  That pretty much tells you how reputable those that do call are.  There are also many exceptions to the DNC list.  Fund raising for charities, political calls, market surveys where no attempt is made to try and sell you something, debt collectors and calls from businesses you have used in the past 18 months or have an ongoing relationship with are all allowed to call until you request that they stop.  The DNC list is not some magic blocking service and relies on compliance by telemarketers to work.  Honest companies obey the law.

Just got a call at this number on my cell.  Signed up for "Do Not Call".  Guess it doesn't work.  I still get these annonomus calls all the time.

I also recently signed up for samples, freebies and coupons. I signed up for several sites, bc as one person said, go to one site and it bounces you to as many as 6 different sites. I immediately started receiving calls from 10 different numbers. I do not answer calls I don't recognize. But total I get at least 20 calls a day (Thank god for Do Not Disturb on my IPhone). There is never a message left. I just hope they eventually get tired of calling my number with no answer. I have yet to receive any samples, coupons or freebies.

This number called me and I do not know who it is nor do I want the calls. I am "unsubscribing" to the coupon pages. which I recently received in my email.  They had a lot of legitimate company products advertised there.  I went through pages of coupons, checking the ones I wanted to print, then I could not print them because I had to "download" a printer from the site even tho I have a perfectly good printer of my own...just a scam to get you to look at the coupons, then you can't print them!  My security program warned me not to download their "printer program."  They probably charge the companies, but do not allow you the coupons.  Ripoff!  I will have nothing to do now with any of them.

I too signed up for free samples yesterday (1/5/13) n the very next day what do I get, phone calls n no message left. If this is what u get when u sign up for freebies, then they should state u will b receiving phone calls. I would have not completed it.

I guess I'm another link in the chain..Signed up for freebies online and calls from this number is filling my cell phone. I don't plan on returning any of these calls.

I don't remember signing up for any freebies but I get a call from that number every day.  I just called them and reached an actual person.  Asked to be taken off their call list and she said "OK"!!!!!    We'll see.....

They keep calling, and when you answer no one is there.  Happened multiple times in last few days.  I can, and will block this number.  Look in your phone book, and it will tell you how to block numbers.

thanks.. i wasn't sure about this either. I don't answer calls from my cell that I dont know. I know who I give my number too.Anything that ask for a number i give my old info to or my non working number too. They dont leave a msg and they call very early and no msg is left. thanks for the info about who they are. I just called back and they dont say what the company is they just say wait for an agent. Before they said anything. I just said I know you are for some sale pitch for education I don't want you to call my number. It is on the do not call list I don't kow how you got it, but remove it now. That is so secrured up, a couple of those coupon site and a survey site say they don't sale your info and I never put my number on there or address. only email so they had to do some digging for it. not cool!

I just got a call from this number I did not recognized number so I didn't answer, called back and they answered and said your call will be answered by the next available agent, so I hung up.  I don't need an agent.

I got a call from this number a few times. I called back just now and she said that I had answered "yes" to "wanting to further my college education" on an online survey. She was just calling to confirm. I just told her that i wanted to do it in the next few years, but not in the next 12 months. She was going to change the information in their system so hopefully I wont' hear back from them.

It was Pointly Education... whatever that is.

I also started getting these phone calls right after I signed up for what I thought was a legit coupon site.  I haven't received any coupons but I have received these phone calls.  Bummer.

This number called my cell phone I answered it, and they hung up, so I called back, it was dead air for about 5 seconds and then a lady picked up, and spoke so damn fast, it was a company in regards to going back to school, that I apparently signed up for, which I did not since I am already in college. I told her please remove me from the list and not that I am on the National DO NOT CALL list.

Did not personally give my number to anyone with a phone number in this area code. It must be some sort of telemarketing call or offer.

I signed up on facebook for "freebies" - what a gimick.  Had to answer all these questions.  Only freebies I was entitled to was garbage I would not use.  This is what triggered these new phone calls.

Same here. I just signed up for freebies, and now got a call from this number today!!!. Glad to know what it is I guess. I found the process of signing up rather confusing, and I think I gave up on the whole thing when it kept jumping me around from site to site. I wasn't sure what all I was signing up for, so eventually I just said forget it! But..... not soon enough I guess

It is for continuing education.

I signed up for coupons and received a call from this phone number....but I missed it......now I know it is related to the coupons....
