Today around 11:45 am I got a number saying they were from the police asking if the owner of the house was there. From the looks of this form, the numbers posted look identically familiar. I am very weary about how on earth they knew my name. I will contact REAL law-enforcement if it persists again.

Same thing happen to us. And I'm getting calls for a guy that doesn't even own my number and I've never even heard of him!

This is another bill collector, trolling for someone with a similar name.  You cannot even use Call Block on them because it's really an out-of-area call sending bogus caller ID.  I guess the right thing to do is to say, "Please do not call me again" when they ask for someone who doesn't live there.

I got a call from this number that hung up when i said hello. My number is a newly assigned Skype Internet phone.

I'm at work and have caller ID and that number comes up. When I dial the number back the voice on the other end said "customer service how may I help you"

The caller is ARS "Alternative Receivable Solutions" (debt collector). This company is not doing a very good job - because when you answer, its music playing, a long hold time, then disconnect.  I attempted to return the call: 404-492-8491 (constantly busy) and after speaking with the phone company I was given this as their main number: 1-866-423-0389 (which is disconnected) or email info@arswillcollect.com.  I emailed them, but normally, people who work in debt collection are ...well, how can you say it..... not the "brightest lights in the chandalier"

ARS called asking for someone taht I ever heard of. They are some type of colection agency, because a Debt recovery company called the day before looking for the same character. Apparently someone connected with the person they are looking for has the same name as someone in my household, and they must think that he is here. I told the lady calling that we had to change pharmacies because of the similaaarities in name and address ( one street different) and that I do not want to continue receiving calls, she said she would remove my phone #.

I have just received a call from this number. There was auto message, said it was a call from ARS or IRS not sure. it also said to call back a certain number and to speak to someone. I also thought it was a collection agency so i ignore the call since I'm not in debt.

THey called my Cell phone today. I can only assume its a bill collector... WHy? BECAUSE I OWE ON BILLS! Wll anywho I did a look up and it said it was a MEtro PCS number? Hmmmmm

sometimes there "agents" operate from thier home, or whatever.  That would explain why a cell phone is used.  Sometimes the calls are from a cell phone in Las Vegas.  These guys are so low that they have to use thier own phones from home.  must be a great job for an ex-con.  I would ignore the calls and try to deal with the original creditor, if possible.

Never give your personal information over the telephone to someone you do not know.  Also it is a federal offense to pose as a federal agent.  Please contact your local Distict Attorney.

These people are call and saying that they are with the IRS and asking if they have the correct date of birth they will tell you the year and ask if it is correct.
