Caller ID: unknown
I don't answer, and they don't leave a message. I have call block/screening, but it's only for 12 numbers - and the list is getting full!!! The FCC, as well as your phone company, should work harder on screening calls. They only screen those with the caller ID "private" or "out of area". Scammers and telemarketing companies have worked their way around it by listing their caller ID as "unknown" "unavailable" "unlisted" or, as in this case, a mock company, like Southeast Federal Credit Union (among others, I'm sure). That Do Not Call list, that we all willingly signed up for is part of the problem, in my opinion. It doesn't do any good to us. The only alternative is to pay extra, and have your number unlisted TOTALLY!

Get calls from the number 3-4 times a week - no one is there.
Can't the FCC step in a burn these f_cks?

They use multiple phone numbers, including (678) 954-4444 and (404) 494-7938. It seems to be these creeps: Teleplaza (dot) com . They hide behind multiple phone numbers with "apparent" presence in multiple states. Looking on their website reveals all of the lovely ways they try to turn a buck. They mostly appear to be in the "business" of providing outsourced abuse of people's home phone numbers and privacy. Like most jerks, they don't want you knowing much about who they really are (try finding out on their web site - good luck). I did find this however:

Searching the Internet for Jim Moylan, Omaha, NE is interesting, you get results like:
"But those representing the liquor industry said the bill would put an unfair burden on the Liquor Control Commission and businesses.
"I know of no other profession where they have to certify you paid off all your taxes to get your license," said licensed beverage lobbyist Jim Moylan."
In a story about protecting children from cigarette smoke:
Longtime lobbyist Jim Moylan put his opposition in even stronger words. Moylan represents the Nebraska Licensed Beverage Association and the tobacco firm Reynolds Association, but said he was not commenting on behalf of Reynolds, formerly known as R.J. Reynolds.
Is this the same guy? Is this who is calling us? I don't know, but I feel sure his momma is proud of him.
Let's learn all we can about these unwashed trolls and share it here. Anyone have other phone numbers?

Caller ID: Southeast Call
404-494-7938
The answering machine picked up before I could answer. The recording sounded cut-off but this is what is said;
We suspended your ATM card. Please press #1 to be transferred to our security department to reactivate your account. They left no phone number so I called 404-494-7938 back and the line had a very fast busy signal.
I called my bank to see if it was them and they said it wasn't
Therefore, it must be bogus

Just got a call from this number on my home phone (landline). It was an automated, recorded message informing me that my Flagstar Bank ATM had been cancelled due to fradulent activity. Since I don't have an account at Flagstar, I tried to follow the prompts to see if I could get to a live operator. No luck. The automated service did ask me to enter my 16 digit ATM number though.
When I Googled the number out of curiosity, it looks like whoever owns this number runs quite a scam. Other postings said caller was notifying them of scratch-off card winnings, conducting a survey, offering to lower credit card rates, etc. Don't answer for this number!

This phone number called my teenage daughter at college last night saying her ATM card had been cancelled, and requesting she speak to a representative. Thankfully, she had her head about her, hung up, and called me to ask "Why would the bank call me? They don't even have my number". Many thanks to you folks for the info you provided.

we have received multiple calls from this phone number (404 494 7938). I contacted Southeast Credit Union (located in South Carolina) to report it to them. Their website discusses scams similiar to this type of call.

Just got a call from this number. Automated voice advising me they were from the Federal Credit Union and my ATM card had been deactivated due to fradulant activities. (YEAH, THEM!!!) To reactivate it, I needed to put in the 16 digit card number, ex date and 3 digit code on back..... YEAH,RIGHT!!!!!

| noVictimsHere 2011-01-22 16:55:09 Debt Collector |
The last calls came from 404-494-7938. Left a msg saying they were trying to collect on a debt for someone I never heard of. Company was NCO out of Las Vegas. Got calls ans msgs from Vegas previously also. I blocked both of the phone numbers they were using. This whole operation is a scam. Tell them nothing. If you are using AT&T land line and have call blocking dial *60, wait for the msg that your Call Blocking is On, then dial #01# to block the last phone number that called you.

Well, this totally creeped me out! The name the guy asked for was someone I dated over 20 years ago! I've been happily married for almost 18 yrs. No association with that other person & he would not know my last name , & it wasn't even him that called anyhow. I don't even know if I want to know the story with this...There is surely a reasonable explanation, but I did not like that call one iota...

Everything is shut down here in Atl today because of snow and I got a call from this lady using this local number. I asked her how she managed to get to work this morning and was so surprised with my question. She thenn ignored my question and preceed to let me know that she has a client that she needed to refer to our small business we own and needed my email address to do that. When I asked her details of how she got my # and specific details of her "client" she couldn't give me any. So I told her that obviously she is full of lies: 1st, Atl is shut down today because of snow, even banks and gov't don't have work today, 2nd she couldn't provide me even a slightest idea of what kind of work we do. I then told her to don't bother us again and hang up...

This is a google voice call. If you have a google voice number the call may have come from someone calling that number. If you do not have google voice then someone is trying to reach you using Google Voice phone.
| copierscam 2010-12-03 20:51:24 Unknown |
I guess this number is using a new tactic. I just got a call from someone wanting to update my records for my copier.
The scam goes like this: the caller claims they are with customer service of the company that services our copier. They are simply updating our records. In order to do this, we need to provide them with a copier model type and number. A few weeks later they will send you a bill for a maintenance agreement listing your copier model type and number.
This scam used to be much more prevalent ten years ago. Honestly, this is the first call for this type of scam I have received in over 7 years. I simply laughed at the guy and told him that I was not falling for this and he hung up within a nanonsecond of me completing my sentence. I can not believe people can wake up in the morning and look themselves in the mirror knowing that their only capability in this world is attempting to scam unknowing victims. Absolute dregs of society. .
