I got a call from this number. They called my family threatening me with jail time and legal action. They violated the privacy act by telling my family all kinds of information. I requested a copy of the debt but they have refused. I finally sent a letter to the Attorney General of Georgia and now awaiting a response.

The use of any business, company, or organization name other than the true name of the debt collector's business, company, or organization

The false representation or implication that an individual is an attorney or that any communication is an from an attorney

The false representation or implication that the consumer committed any crime or other conduct in order to disgrace the consumer

The Attorney General will boldly bring a class action suit to companies who actively conduct business in this manner

Lalanda Hill, who goes by Ms. Rohi, is the person who set up agreements outside the boundaries of the FDCPA. She is acting out as a result of being terminated. So while she is giving out inaccurate information, she will eventually feed into her own demise.

They called and stated that they had my name as a "relative" of person named in a suit.  When I called back, and requested info, the woman pretended she could not hear me and hung up.

They called me back and she became very aggressive and threatening me.

Guess the sammers are wising up; we went from the civil "you owe money" to something that would actually. eventually, possibly have a law enforcement involvement.  If you have a bad check outstanding, I'd say take care of it, but not through this company.  Just as an FYI, if you wrote a bad check, say, to WalMart, they would try to contact you first, or the check collection company that they work with (and there is usually a otice of who it is right at the register) would contact you.  They don't start with the cops and work up to the CIA which is what some other posts for other numbers say these losers are calling and claiming.   Also, you can send anyone else they may contact (and you know no one gives out "references" to cash a check) to this website as well as to the FBI website about these extortion scams.    If your conscience is clear about any bounced checks, ignore it.   Don't call them back; if you can do so, blow a whistle in their ear if they call you again.  Good luck

I'm in VA I thought it was a scam to but now I have to appear in court, I did the same thing I called the Atlanta GA police department and they confirmed it is a local law firm that handles criminal cases

I was compuletely shocked I'm trying to find an attorney to handle my case

I got a call from this # as well I thought it was a scam so I didn't return the call and then I got a voicemail with my county stating that the paperwork will be filed against me
A week later there was a knock on my door I looked out the window and saw a sheriff I opened the door and he stated that he was serving me with a warrant

I wanted to lie and tell him she isn't home but I was too scared I was in jail for a week and now I'm trying to have my lawyer get the felony charge off of my name I don't have enough money for the court costs and legal fees

This person called me stating they are Agent Johnston and they a pressing bank fraud

This person has been call my family as well. This is a scam. Don't send any money. I'm going to call the police department in Atlanta,Ga to let them know about this scam.

This person has called 2 different people in my family,  saying that my son in in trouble for check fraud. Also, that my son has given their phone number as point of contact. This is BULL SHI##. since when do you give phone numbers of family members to cash a check.

made the mistake of letting this person know that i had a loan w/ another company & she went on to say that she was w/ that company & has been calling my job asking for proof of payment....... i mean WHAT THE HELL!!!!
