Caller, a Miss Robinson, said that I was a co-signer of an unpaid note from 7 Dec 1009, and that with accrued interest it was now large enough to be a felony.  Caller said it was going to be turned over to the county attorney who would take appropriate action if someting was not done to clear the debt. The truth is that I have never been a co-signer on any kind of a note.

I just received a call from"Agent Robinson" for my son. She asked me to take him a message for a check fraud! I typed in the phone # 404-973-2103 as she was talking to me and told her I know this is a scam, so do not call back. Then hung up.  She called back 3 minutes later and said "I assure you this is not a scam." I hung up again!  I informed my son and I know for a fact he doesn't use checks and he has not had a pay day loan out!  I am sick of these people. It's been going on for over a year! I work from home and have to answer the phone. I wish I had caller ID so I could just ignore them.

Don't answer your phone unless you know the identity of the caller...  simple as that, really.
When it rings I just press the IGNORE button and it stops ringing.

They can't call my place of employment because I don't have a job.

They can't threaten me because I don't give them a chance to say ANYTHING.
I just ignore them. I am disabled/handicapped and jobless. I have nothing they can
take away even if they had a legal claim, which they DON'T.

This is Dorsey Thornton and Associates collection agency in GA. The operate by leaving threatening messages to the consumer and their family members that they are "being investigated for check fraud", they leave a case# and instruct you to call Agent ______.  When you call, they tell you that you're going to jail if you don't pay them X dollars.  Even if you don't owe the debt.  They are violating state credit consumer laws.  I have reported them to all applicable agencies.  They need to operate within the law.

They called me today and I don't know or owe anyone in Atlanta where she said they are located. She was very polite. I explained she had the wrong person. It is Vandenberg, Chase & Associates lawfirm. They have another number too. It is 386-944-0745. The caller ID said Starnet Inc Orl - whatever that means.
