The people who are calling you from these numbers are Internet SCAMMER's...   They are trying to steal your information and they will take your money so do NOT ever send them anything...  NEVER

These are usually Skype numbers of Google VOIP numbers and although they may tell you that they are in Atlanta, GA or wherever, they are NOT...

After reading the reports on this site, my circumstances don't match anyone.  I got a call from this number this evening.  VERY surprised to hear my child's voice calling from his room at his Military Service Academy here in the US.  100% of his calls come through Anonymous, and this number is a local number for us.  Creepy!

I received a called from 4049749190 and when I tried to answer they wouldn't say anything.  I tried to call the number back and they kept hanging up the phone.

I've been called for almost a month now on a day to day basis and I've only answered the withheld call twice. Both times it was scilence. I haven't tried to trace the number by calling my phone company because I didnt see it as a problem till it became an almost twice a day thing, and I was recieving the calls late a night. I haven't answered in a week and I don't get voicemails. Any suggestions?

I receive several calls a night from this number. If I answer the phone, there is no voice or indications of connection. If I call back I receive the message that the number is not valid. Basically, my phone rings, normally late at the night from this number (on caller ID) with no human on the other end.

This number just call me, and just hang up. I tried to call back, and a message was your call can not be completed at this time. please call later. My a/c is not working right now and I am not in mood for this type of calls, next time I will give them a piece of my mind.

I received a call from this #404-974-9190 from a male with a very strong Indian accent. He was very unprofessional sounding and claimed to be from Walmart. He said I was their customer of the month and they were giving me for free me a very expensive gift which was a trip for 3 days & 3 night to the Caribbean & a Sony 10 mega pixel camera. He said that all I had to do was pay for the shipping & handling charge of $1.99 with a credit card & it would be delivered. I was skeptical from the very beginning of the call. I, not so politely, told this guy what I thought & he was so desperate he kept asking me for my credit card # promising it wasn't a scam. Tried to talk me into agreeing with some delusional scenarios that would make me think what he was telling me & asking wasn't way out. These scammer's are desperate & nuts. What's even scarier is they already had my address & my cell phone #!  Don't waste your time or esp your $$. Just hang up & report them.

who is this caller???  getting repeatitive calls....

received calls from this number  404-974- 9190 with a chinese accent saying they were calling from the federal government asking for 500 dollars for medical card. and wanted to put 500 dollars in  checking acct and asked for the checking acct number, and bank name. i told them where to go with that and it was no where on earth.I Iook at the number and not answer phone now. I also block the number on my phone. i donot answer withheld or non visable numbers.

I received a notice on June 20 that unless I made a phone call using Skype that my Skype Credit
would expire in thirty days, or on July 20, 2010. When I attempted to make such a phone call using
Skype, I got a drop down message indicating that I had no Skype Credit and the call call was prohibited.
I was also notified on June 20th that I had a $10,00 Skype Credit balance. Please correct this problem
and advise me of your action.

This is not a credit card company or any of the such. It is part of an automated service that us I.T. folks use to monitor our servers in the middle of the night. The person on the other end is based in India and is calling to notify that something happened to one of the devices. If they are calling you then someone accidentally entered their own number wrong on the setup.

No one has my magic jack number, as I use google voice to route all calls. Problems solved by having magic jack forward all calls to my GV number, and now blocked.

I got the call from 404 974 9190 they offered me $2500 visa card for $1.90 S+H. But they needed all my info and my bank card info. This was an Indian accent guy. I think they call from India via Phone card from Atlanta because you can not call this number back (this number is not traceable to me). Seems like a new scam.

Just received call from 404.974.9190, male with very strong Indian accent. Very rude, unprofessional, claiming to be from a mortgage company in Atlanta. Wanted to offer a refinance package. I didn't let him get very far with the conversation before I hung up on the scum. Immediately searched on the phone number and my suspicions were right - don't accept any calls from this jerk.

The first call from this number was at like 5:00 in the morning. I didn't notice it until the next day...I didn't hear the phone and no message was left.  I just assumed that they had the wrong number.  The second call was at 9:00 in the evening.  I did answer and no response.  I tried to call back and the number rings busy.  After reading the comments, I believe someone is just bored and playing games.

This call came in at 4:45 am and they called repeatedly beacuse I didnt' pick up. Then when that didn't work they called from 404-974-9150. I am glad that the phone was on silence or I would have been upset and my sleep would have been disturb by this craziness.

Like others, this call came in at 4:45 AM today. We ignored it and they did not leave a message. When I called the number I got the message "Due to network difficulties your call cannot be completed at this time. Please try your call again later". I wonder if this is just a spoofed caller id?

This person called and hung up before I could answer it. When I called back it didn't go through. Within a few minutes I received a call from 404-965-1240 I answered and they asked for the wrong person. I looked up the first number and the second number. Glad I did. How odd...

I have been receiving calls from a "WITHHELD" number for a week and a half now.  At first it was during the work day, but the caller soon decided to start calling around 4:45 in the morning.  

This morning the calls began at 3am.  The second consecutive phone call actually registered a number, (404)974-9190.  Upon calling back, the number does not work.

Throughout this whole ordeal, when I have picked up the phone, they always ask the same thing, "Are you up?" Regardless of my response, the person (male) always replies with, "Good, Good" and hangs up.

I received a call from this number (404-274-2898)as well at 4:39AM.  I called the number back this morning to give them a piece of my mind and the recording says that it is disconnected.  This has happened before.  Very ANNOYING!
Reading the above claims about this number sounds to me like some sort of routing line....BIZARRE.

I got this call at work several times people I know in Canada and EU have called and it shows up this number but is not actually their number...must be some line used for routing int'l calls to the US.

This has to be a routing line.  Some lady with a chinese accent called and asked for the business owner. I repeatedly had to ask her who she was and what she wanted because I dont just give out information without knowing who is on my phone and why.  She finally says her name is Rachel and she is with search engine optimizer. I was already annoyed with her and don't do sales calls. I told her to have a nice day and hung up.

The  # 404-974-9190 is a number used from outside the US when the person making the call is using a prepaid calling card.

I got a call from this number last night @ 12:13 a.m. I tried calling it back a couple of times and every time I tried it said "Your call cannot be completed at this time. Please try your call again later." I don't get it.  I just hate when people mess around with phones. I'm waiting on a couple responses to jobs I've applied for and this just pissed me off. Judging from the other posts on here, I'm guessing it's just some a**hole messing with people.. or maybe it is the routing # for the international calls thingy like some people have mentioned. But I'm glad I got on this site and got other people's comments. Now it's not bothering me anymore. Thanks.

This number called my cellphone at 3:53 am. I looked it up and it said mci worldcom communications inc. I think its a payphone service for collect calls or maybe prepaid calling cards? i can't receive collect calls on my cell so maybe that's why it was silent when I answered it.
