I had the same thing happen to me today! They called my cell phone & my sons cell phone! SCAM!!

Liar liar pants on fire!  If you really did have a relative who is a police officer, he/she would tell you that you cannot be arrested for debt.  And if you really did have a warrant, it sure as heck wasn't for a bad debt.

OMG I got the same call from the same person saying if I dont pay an certain amount I will be arrested but the funny thing about it is that it is not a scam a family member of mines is a police officer and when they told me I will have a warrant because I refuse to pay t the next day I quickly went to him to see if I had a warrant and I did and I quickly called the number to pay off my debt and in the next two hours it was goo good so if u think its a scam thats on yall my background clean... I wish I wouldve listened the first time.

Got a call saying I owe a payday loan. Funny thing is she asked for me in my maiden name and on my sister in laws phone. I never gave out her number cause I don't even know it off by heart. My husband is all panicky cause the person that called said if i don't call by 6 pm that they are gonna prosecute me. First off couldn't hear her name clearly. Second off only payday loan i had was 7 yrs ago and I got a call like this last year around this time from a Mr Jones saying the same thing. I personally contacted the place where i had gotten the payday loan and the only place i ever got one at. They had gotten me to corporate office and I had spoken to someone who researched my history who had said there was never an outstanding balance and it was paid in full as scheduled. Last year it was a 404 number as well. Jus scammers hard up on money before tax time. I said if they are that worried why didn't they contact me directly. hmmm funny thing is they called on my sister in laws cell phone. she just got that number recently. I had the same number for the last 5 yrs.  I am not a fool to fall for this scam. They can harass all they want. I am going thru bankruptcy they can't touch me. So looks like Tommorrow the BBB and my Attorney will be contacted. I think I am gonna try to get them for fraud and Harrasment, They messed with the wrong Person this time I will go media on them as well if need be.

Just received a call from this number stating that she was Investigator Heather Robinson from some type of fraud division (couldn't hear clearly).  She asked for some other person we don't even know.  She wanted to advise that person of their rights and if she didn't receive a call back today, she would proceed with prosecution.  I was going to call back and say she had the wrong person...but after reading the above posts, I am sure it is a scam.

Ready gang?- "Debts are civil matters, not criminal matters. You cannot be arrested for a debt, you go to court first." Ask for everything in writing. Email & phone calls don't count. They won't send anything? Laugh & hang up.

I received a phone call from Ava as well, stating she was from district 12. That there were pending felony warrants for a outstanding payday loan. That i needed to come up with at least half by the time she left or she would sign off on the warrants and i would be arrested in 24 to 48 hours. After some research things didnt add up i believe this is a scam and they use jail as a scare tatic...

I just got a phone call from this number 404-996-3975.... she said this is an outstanding payday loan That I didn't pay... If I don't take care of it now ,there will be a warrant out for my arrest within 24-48 hours... this is a fraud .... do not give them your money you will lose it, this is a scam...
