Debt collector

This number calles my wife phone atleast 3 times s week an talk for about 20 mins each time. Starting to think something is up.

In this context, the correct spelling is their.

I am being harrassed by these people. They call sometimes 3-5 times a day, apparently they can not be reported to the Do Not Call Registry as they are a charitable org. I decide who I will give to not them.

Caller called 8:45 PM.No answer when I picked uop the phone. Called ID said local caller.

I recieved a call from this number today 11/4/11 at 3:20pm. They asked for the person who owns the house and then nicely letting them know he was not here, they hung up on me. How rude and after I thankful found this site I will take the advice I read on here next time they call. They will  call again and when they do I will take action!! Thanks!!

Scam says they are from the Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police but that is based out of Tulsa not Oklahoma City. They hung up on me when I started questioning them.

Call 800-487-0923.  Be sure to call from the phone number that you keep getting calls from them.  Also, your caller id cannot be blocking your number when you call them, either. Listen to the full message and at the end it gives you an option to be put on their "do not call" list.  It worked!!

they want money sometimes...other times they just hang-up

We were tired of getting MULTIPLE calls PER DAY from this number. We don't usually answer the phone unless we know who it is. They never left a message, finally I said, if its so important that they call upwards of 7 times per day, maybe I should answer. When I did, it was some guy asking for donations to the FOP. I explained (as nicely as possible) that I had already given to another LOCAL organization recently and that I really didn't appreciate getting calls 7 times per day (some as early as 6 am and some as late as 9:45pm). I told him that if he was unable to stop the calls being made to my house, I would be forced to take some legal actions against them.....not a single call from them in 2 weeks! :o)

I also recently found out that you can pick up stickers from your local police department anywhere, and then all you need is a credit card charger and you have your very own scam. (a friend of a friends dad once did this and make QUITE a bit of money for his pocket).

Most of the people who say they represent The Fraternal Order of Police, Troopers Association or the Chief's of Police, they do not actually work for any of the above.  After doing some checking, they may represent a National organization, but most of the money will not go to this area.  If my memory serves me correctly, Oklahoma only gets 20% of all donations.  If you want to really help, contact the various organizations in your area and ask how to donate to them.  I know people in both Troopers Association and FOP and I'd much rather donate my money locally than to a National organization but that is my opinion....

A call from some Fraternal Order of Police asking for donations. I always let them know that I have allotted my yearly donations already and that I like to keep my donations local. They keep calling!

No one on the line when I answered, so I muted the phone and waited a man comes on the line and says "Hello".  I can hear other voices in the back ground which makes me think it is a sales call.  He can't hear me but keeps saying "Hello" and when I don't respond he calls me by my first name!  I hung up!

I get a call from this number around 9 pm (CST) EVERY night. I pick up the phone and no one says anything. Then, they hang up. If I don't answer, they don't leave a message. If I call the number back, I'm told that this number cannot be completed as dialed.

No message left. Called Them. "out of order" Recording. No area code displayed On I.D. and no Name.

both are the same organization.....they want money!

They are at it again. Also got a call from a Tulsa number (918 area code) that is also from the Association of Chiefs of Police. I was in law enforcement and I truly don't think such an organization exists -- at least as it pertains to actual police chiefs. Two calls in three days so far. Local police agencies have programs to which you can donate to support various community programs; use those to donate. Also be advised that if you verbally agree to make a donation and fail to send them the money, this and other organizations have filed suit in small claims courts for breach of contract. Nice bunch of folks . . . . .

Fundraiser

Receive calls from number 405-213-1703 frequently.  They have caught me off
guard a couple of times, but I tell them that if they can't leave a message
instead of hanging up then I can't donate to them.

It's a telemarketing firm for the "Association of Chiefs of Police".  They are not a "not for profit".

I Keep Getting A Call With This Number As Well 405-213-1703. I Am Even Registered On The State Of Oklahoma Do Not Call List And The Federal Do Not Call List. This Is My 4th Call From This Number. I Am Now Using A Software Called Phonetray The Free Version It Helps Alot On Telemarketers And Other Harrassing Phone Calls.But This Software Only Works on Landlines Only With A PC That Has A Phone Modem Installed.

I have received a few calls from 405-213-1703.  We allowed the call to go to voicemail, and the last two times, it's just a tone, sounding like a light wind blowing.

The last call came on 5/24/11, at 8:30 PM.
The prior call was on 5/23/11 ALSO at 8:30 PM.

405-213-1703 Called our place of business. I answered and the caller ask for my husband by name. I ask who it wasand he said Jason Bates. When my husband answered he hung up.

Its one more scam.

The way this one works, they call a small police department and talk to an inexperienced clerk.  That clerk give them permission to use "police" in their calls in exchange for a donation.  That police force gets a donation of $10.  The calling company keeps the 10,000 or more that is donated.  If you donate one time the will call often for more $.  

They are a charity so they are excempt from the Do Not Call list law.  Hang up on them.  If they send you stuff recycle it.

Called it just now and it's the "Association of Chiefs of Police", registered with the state attorney generals office. Wanting money. Not a lot of drama here.

It's the local F.O.P., Fraternal Order of Police in OKC.

I received a call from (405) 213-1703 this evening. The call was static-y and the caller stated he was a police officer recording a collecting donations message for the Oklahoma Child Identification network, I asked him to speak up and he did! (So much for a recording...) He said he was a police officer and he wanted me to donate money to some (allegedly) police sponsored child location program, but when I asked him to mail me documentation of the validity of his charity, etc, he was unwilling.

Obviously, it's a scam of some sort. I reported the call to the Attorney General and will also inform the cops since he was impersonating an officer. Personally, I hope he calls back so I can tell him off.

I live in Tulsa and just a call from this number.  I didn't hear the phone, but my message was flashing.  All I got on the message was the kind of noise you hear when someone is calling from a moving vehicle.
