This is what the police told me to do: report this to: IC3.gov , then the FBI or Postal Service(if there is a mailed check) will treat it as a crime.  thank you for this site!

I listed something for sale on Craigs List too and got text from same number 405 458-1009 and he gave me same line about oceanography and can't be contacted and send him money. He or she is total scammer.

Got it SMS message text message from this guy. Wants to buy my generator but he's in oceanography for station offshore. Who wants to try using the Pay Pal scam. Wants me to wire his transporter money through Western Union. I print this number into the authorities

Got the exact email about the oceanographer wanted to buy for his son, paying asking price with paypal on a boat in Fl when he is in Ok. From all of these posts, it looks like he has lots of time on his hands. I should have been an oceanographer.

Posted boat on email for Clark County WA. This guy wants to buy via paypal. I told him it is a cash only sale and he can pick up the boat when he hands me the cash.

I posted a boat ad in Oregon..A day later at 7am mind you, this person says they will pay in full, through paypal and on and on. This isn't my first scammer and it won't be the last, but this person really made me upset.

This guy sends me email asking if truck is for sale. wants to buy using paypal. call his phone 405 458- 1009 gt a voicmail only tried to reach him 4 times.. keep emailing me now he says he deposited 3000.00 in paypal truck was only 2200.00 wants me to go to pay shipper by western union.. What a rip off craigslist is a bunch cornflakes that try to scam u.. Cash only u pick up..

So many scammers out there.  I have the same issue.  If you ever get an sms or email asking you if this is still for sale right after you entered it on craigslist, its a scam undoubtedly.

Ok I've received a couple sms from this person it sounds like a 100% scam they are over seas on a job and want to pay with only paypal I read up on Google that the scam works by you sending them the item then they say they have never authorized the purchase then Ur out the money and the item this person has bad grammar and never days boat only item sounds like a mass email sent for anything from coffee cups to cruise ships lol. SELLERS BEWARE!
