Last night my husband and I BOTH got a text from this number at the same time on each of our phones.  I just deleted it.  They new the nickname I go by so I'm assuming they are phishing and found it on facebook or twiitter.  Could have possibly been sold from another website, but I just found it odd we got the text at the exact same time

Just got a text message from this phone number that said "Hi Gary".  Didn't respond. I'm in AZ.

I just got a Verizon Samsung Galaxy 3. I just git a text saying "Hey Janet". I have not added Facebook to my phone. I did not reply to the text in case that confirms/ approves solicitations of some sort. Weird.

Got a text on my phone with just Hello and my name.  I texted back "Who's this?"   No response.  Googled the phone number and found this conversation.  I am going to ignore this now.

Truly Scammer, test with first name then no reply after that.  Anyone know who to report a complaint to?

There are data mining companies that gather info from anywhere and everywhere, find associations in the data to build profiles on people, and sell those profiles to marketing companies.

It really doesn't matter how they got your number. What DOES matter is what they are doing is illegal, and you need to report them to your cell phone carrier:

They are getting the information from Facebook.. I got the same message but they used a name that is only known on Facebook. And my cell number is not connected to that account so not sure how they did it

I called the number it's a text plus number (app from the apple store)

Just happened to me yesterday from this number.

The 405 is a Oklahoma area code. I replied.to.their text.as well.  I'm going to assume they used.that to confirm a workinng phonenumber with name. My service is at&t used to be Cingular. Wonder if a database was hacked or if I'm about to get seriouslly spammed.

Very awkward i just received a text from this number saying "Hola Patricia?". This is creepy as only my mom and some friends call me that and when they are angry...

I got on last night on Halloween.  It said "hola Angie" which is weird because that's my nickname.  All business information would be "Angela".  When I asked who it was, I never got a response back.

I got a txt also. same thing. Could be a scam. My wife got a similar txt the same day from a different number that was a local number .... odd. It is scary to know that we are not the only ones.

How odd. I got the same thing but no reply when I ask who it was nor any explanation. I think its a scam of some sort

Got a text from this number. They knew my name, but when I asked them who is this they never answered the question, but instead explained that their Android was about to die and contact them via their Yahoo email. I asked again who is this? And never got another response.
