SCAM SCAM SCAM form this number! I recieved very similar messages regarding a laptop I had posted. These people are fake and attempt to hack your bank accoutns after receiving your email and phone number from posts on Craigs list.  They ask if it is in good condition, ask you to reply by text only, say they want you to give them paypal information, and ship somewhere out of the coutnry (in my case they asked it to be shipped to Nigeria)

DO NOT FALL FOR SCAMS LIKE THIS.  EVEN if you don't provide them with your accoun and paypal information they are still making attempts to HACK your bank acount.  MY bank flagged my accoun and let me know what was going on.  THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS!

Same BS here, too. My hubby and I have been selling various items from home for a living for the past 2 years and we have been hit by every kind of scam out there it seems. Wouldn't change the fact that we went through this kind of s*&^t over and over again because now we can spot a scammer from miles away.... well literally "miles" but actually just from the initial response. We even go so far as write out our contact number in word form to avoid fake responses to our craigslist posts. This method seemed to be working great up until just this morning when we got a text from this pathetic loser's phone number. So now it's even worse. We used to think that the scamming was initiated by some sort of auto-response computer program since the usual fakies would all say pretty much the same thing and if we responded to those with something along the lines of "you worthless piece of s*&^t... etc etc.", we would get a response saying something like,"thank you for your interest ... bla bla" BUT NOW, the fact that our contact phone numbers are spelled out in word form in our listings, this means that an ACTUAL human being is sitting at their computer, needlessly basking in their loner-ness, girlfriend-less, and absolute desolate waste of a living, breathing body, physically clicking through craigslist postings, reading through each one and taking OUR precious time deciphering coded cell phone numbers. THAT'S NOT ALL! As much as these poor f*&^ks have no life, they inhabit some decent amount of basic web design knowledge, enough to not only sift thru postings in hopes that one in a million persons will answer his reply, but to then also generate fairly legit-looking emails from "PayPal" stating you have received money. So effing ridiculous. GET A LIFE OR LOSE THE ONE YOU HAVE, Scammers, cuz for those of us here trying to make an honest living, doing things THE RIGHT WAY, and trying to make good use of our given-lives here, all the while people like this piece of f*&cktardness pulling s*&^t like this everyday, quite frankly you are taking up perfectly good human-space on this planet not to mention utterly wasting the time of everyone you come in contact with. Hmmm wasting my time + wasting space + wasting electricity from hours sitting at our computer + probably also wasting space by still living with your parents who could be renting out the bedroom you grew up in to pay their bills therefore then + wasting your parents' time & money on your sorry-a**, add all those "reasons-why-human-scammers-should-be-banished-to-a-remote-island-alone-forever" = 100% WORTHLESS. We find this s*&t-for-brains, eons upon light-years beyond a reasonable doubt, GUILTY of having no morally sound place in this world and therefore banished to an unknown island for life plus half a life, or until death. Whichever comes first. One more thing, as I close my meant-to-be two cents opinion on this subject, I hate that this world still inhabits losers like this guy that sit at home with no common sense whatsoever (well more accurately negative percent of common sense) and even more annoyingly are A. more or less allowed to pull scams left and right without any repercussions nor see any kind of consequence whatsoever B. should have (though needless to say, however i feel the conversation calls for it to be at least of honorable mention) been aborted at or around the time these earthlings' Moms, bless their hearts, found out they were pregnant and C. ultimately ruin the possibilities, if there are any left, of having a morally and self-functioning society where people work for eachother and help eachother using their individual talents and gifts. Hey scammers, F*&K OFF or Off yourself to Timbuktu. You are not wanted here. Change your sh*&t or change your state of being; from living here to not, if at all possible.

It is a scam.
How it works:
Says they will buy the item and will pay extra to cover charges by his shipping agent.
Says he will PayPal the funds and instruct you to send back the extra money via wire transfer or pre-paid card to the agent.
He then sends you a fake PayPal deposit notice email, spoofing the official PayPal notice, that says the money has been put into your account.
You, thinking PayPal has your money, go ahead with the wire/prepaid transfer to the shipping agent, who is really the scammer.
After that, you then find out there was no money transferred to PayPal and are out the money your wired.

Same as above...Posted a nice gold & silver necklace on Craigslist for local sale in the Dallas Fort Worth, TX area and got contacted requesting my paypal info so payment could be made and I could mail it...
to SOUTH AFRICA!
As if that was going to happen.
Also, he never gave a name, but claimed to be an Army Officer and said to only text because he couldn't make or receive phone calls at the base.
What a load. Who falls for this crap?

Got a reply on craigslist to a posting of mine. The person, identifying themselves as John Dot also with the number 405-748-0351 said not to reply with email. He asked to text or get back to him with my number. Again as in previous post that is not my local area code.

I got a reply from a posting i put on craigslist stating if my item was still available to contact this number ONLY by text message and not to reply to the email. Kinda wierd request. Being that my area code 505 and craigslist is a local classified ad posting. Just weird.
