No.   The DNC has one sole and intended purpose.   That is to reduce the number of sales calls to those who register on the DNC List.  It does this by requiring all legitimate and registered with the FTC businesses who telemarket to purchase the list and maintain an accurate list of those people.   Those legitimate businesses do in fact honor the list or else think of the millions of US businesses who could be calling us,  but who are NOT because of the list.   The DNC was never intended to do anything else.  Go to the FTC/DNC site and read...its interesting.

I thought Do Not Call was suppose to avoid this type of thing?

This number is linked to other scammer numbers by the same person, I'm guessing. I had already blocked a Florida and California number that had the same spanish recording as this number.  323-997-4000 and 305-396-3500.

They're trying to sell something...I'm not sure what...but it's definitely harassment...and if they someone contact by yet another number, I'm going to have to contact authorities.

i just received a call from this number. i never answer any phone calls that is not local and of course it was another --i called that number back everything was in spanish---so i hung up and put it on my list of reject calls. my advice be careful cause it might be a scam or phishing scam just to get your information. be advise if its a out of state number and you dont get to many calls then its obviously something to ignore. Be safe and be aware.

gotten a number of calls at a variety of times. pocket dialed while in the middle of something tense at work, just love making long distance calls on the cell to automated garbage. it's funny because i'd just blocked another number doing the same thing. i found someone on here that actually talked to someone and they admitted rogers has been selling cell numbers to american teleresearch/marketing places to circumnavigate the do not call list, since american companies are exempt.  Are you with rogers? if you are i suggest the next time they ask about how their service is, you ask why they have a policy of both creating foreign jobs while ignoring the wishes of their own customers, i certainly will.

called me i sent it to voicemail then called again and  hung up after 2 rings. have no idea they did not leave a message

This is a none sop caller , I called back and it was in Spanish ? That I can not understand , plus calling my cell phone on the highway really pisses me off .

This caller called, I answered - Silenced -- please advise to not answer this callers calls.

This number has called me repeatedly. I'm in Toronto.

Called me twice, back to back, today.  No messages.

Caller has phoned me 4 times in a row at 6 minute intervals.  Most likely some sort of machine.
