Same as other complaints re: a recorded message offering to lower my credit card rate.... except I HAVE NO CREDIT CARDS.  Definitely a scam, of course, as everyone else has said, but please do not believe that they have your # from any real credit card applications/ businesses/ offers.  I only deal in cash, did not apply for any cc's nor own any.  Still get the calls periodically.  Have reported them to DNC Registry just to alert them of the #.  ALSO a number of other similar robocalls (one about "Health Insurance") from 406 area code (Montana).  

Anyone know why 406 is a vulnerable area code to this kind of scam?  Coincidence?

Call today I pressed 1 and got someone named Paolo who, when asked said he was calling from Orlando even though the caller id said Montana. In a nutshell he was trying to narrow down a credit card I would be willing to give info on, wanted to know if I had at least $3000 in debt on all credit cards..played along and said yes, wanted to know what card I said visa, he asked what the credit limit was on the card. When I said I don't know he pushed for the info, I asked what that had to do with lowering my credit card interest rate and he said I had to have at least $700 of my credit limit available to qualify..ding ding. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see where this is going. Told him to take my number off his list (he said computer dials it..I'm guessing they random call which is start with a npa and prefix and dial every number til they get a working number). Yes I too am on the DNC list but as said above, crooks don't pay attention to any lists, just scamming money.

PANASONIC CAN BLOCK 30 CALLS, UNIDEN CAN BLOCK OUT 20.....

I got a call also today 2/2/11. I ask for her name,what her company was and where did she get my name.
She said Stacey Lowe ID #SL1969-4709BAV with Card Services she got my name because my credit score was so good. They only make this offer to those with good credit scores. She was going to transfer me to a secure line with a financial person to lower my credit card rate and hung up on me.

Can you believe these a$$holes called back on March 15 a second time and the caller simply burped into the phone then hung up . . . this was left as a MESSAGE.

I classified this CRAP as a prank call.

Called 3-11-2011, no message, Card Services per previous post, but no Caller Id appeared.

Not the first time, but first time in several months. I pressed "#" about a dozen times to interrupt the recorded message, then the line started to ring. It was an international sounding ring "brrrp-brrrp... brrrp-brrrp". When the person on the other end answered, she didn't have much of an accent. She started asking me if I wanted to lower my interest rates, and I said, "No, I want you to take me off your... click".

About noon, we got a call from these people.  I asked them to take us off their call list.  The man responded by saying "I'm going to call you every day for the rest of your life."  Got another call five hours later. They need to be stopped.

I received a call today my answering machine answered.  They had a recorded message that started before my machine started recording. Therefore I am not sure if they mentioned the name of the company.  However what did record it said they could lower our interest rates and to press 1 to speak to someone or 2 to have our number removed for future calls.

Lady would not put me on do not call list. Kept asking for the homeowner. I hung up.

Received a call on my cell phone from the above phone number.  My landline and cell phones are registered on the "Do Not Call List."

What good does it do to register with those folks?  I'm receiving more and more telemarketer calls.  Naturally, I don't answer them!

I just got called from this number 3 times in a row and everytime there was silence when my answering machine responded. I am on both the national and my state's Do-not-call list.  These phone con artists ignore it and call and try to rip of the gullible.   Attempts like this getting worse ever since Bush jr wiped out the world economic system.   There are those unemployed and hungry. They are are getting desperate enough to turn to crime as this.  Screen all phone calls with an answering machine. Do not be so naive and gullible as to listen to any sales pitch nor think about buying anything over the phone. Do not donate to any phone caller claiming to be charity.  Do not fall for the scammers who claim to be with police or firemen  trying to scare people into donating.    It does not do any good to report the scam attempt or out of state harasser.  Our gov is broke and failed us long ago.  Apparently the FCC is now a big failure that can no longer keep communications safe for us.

Go down to your local sporting goods store and buy a police or referees whistle.  Then when they call, push 1 and if someone answers, blow the whistle into the mouthpiece of your phone.  No matter how quickly they hang up, their ears will be ringing.

April 14, 2011 1:23pm received call. No valid caller ID "Unknown". Unknown wasn't answered so they go our answering machine - robo-call as always. Have reported them on the DNC website every time (have lost count), have also talked with them with same results as others - hang up. Bunch of slimy spined micro-brained wimps.

Received call from this number on March 15,  2011 at 4:24 pm and left no message.  Very annoying and harassing.  Ad enough.  Am on Do Not Call registry.  Hope something can be done about all these harassing calls and companies.  Will report to FTC and authorities.

They are still calling as of today.  Ug.  There seems to be no way to stop this.

I got the call from this number on several occasions. When I was here to answer, I pushed the number to speak to someone. I immediately asked to what card were they referring.. They hung up..  I have  been getting calls about this deal for several months.

I've received numerous calls on my cell from this number and kept ignoring it until I got tired of it and decided to finally answer the phone call.  I pressed one and was transferred to a lady that asked me "IF I wanted to lower my interest rates?" I told her I would but the minute I said "my total credit card debt is less than $5k" she instantly hung up.  When I tried to call back to get the name of the company or a supervisor the number won't call out. Very frustrating and annoying!!!  Please be aware and catch these scammer/spammers before they get one of us!

You left a nasty oice message yesterday at 303-955-4530 telling SOMEONE that this was the last notice.  My caller ID said VISA ASSIST.  Since the message was mumbled I don't know who you were trying to reach.  Just for your information I do not have a VISA card and never have.  I also have DO NOT CALL  on both the Federal and Colorado state registry.  Do what you must and take my number out of your database because the next time you call me (the wrong person) I will report you to the Colorado State Attorney General's office of Consumer Affairs and you will have to answer for your mistake.

...Sooo...whatchya do is give them false info....go ahead and play the game up until they ask you the big question...'what is your account info #..." that when you make up the # such that they get ZERO...nada...zip. There is a slight chance another person may be affected, but...as is said abaove, if the FED is doing its job, there shoulod not ever be a problem...yes?

I got a "call and click" from this number (A computer-dialed call which hangs up without playing the message it's supposed to.)

The recording after I answered the call said they could lower my credit card interest rate., then it said to press 1 to talk to someone about this.  I pressed 1 to talk to them and said to the person "What credit card are they you referring to?" and they hung up!

Recieve this same caller every day.........different numer but same place.  Billings Montana!   They never answer.........even when I did.  Now I don't I just hang up without answering or don't even pick up the phone at all.
