Call on Caller ID. No message. Refuse to accept calls I don't recognize. Mostly telemarketers doing this.

Called me on 7/20/11.  Caller ID said "Montana Call" and I don't know anyone in Montana, so I didn't answer.  After reading some of these other posts about them calling regarding an interest rate, I'm glad I didn't answer.  These calls are scams, and I just wish they would stop.  It seems to make no difference that I'm unlisted and on the no-call registry, but just the same I reported them to the no-call registry AND to the FCC.  The FCC website is http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm?sid=d1e37&id=d1e53.

I've received constant calls from this number and reported the number to the DNCR, but the calls continue.  I have also pressed "1" to speak to the rep and told them that they must remove me from their list.  Nothing works.  This is particularly annoying because the calls are coming to my cell phone.

I am starting to suspect that they are using software to obfuscate their true phone number, which would explain why reporting them seems to have no effect. Anyone else think that may be the reason?

Just received a call from this number - caller ID said Bozeman MT - I spoke with a rep (w/a foriegn accent) and asked what was the full name of his company. he said Visa & MasterCard Services. Again I asked for the full name and was told that was the full name. Then I asked where they were located. He said Orlando FL. I asked if the company was located in FL why did my caller ID say MT. He told me i was mistaken. I continued to grill him (only because i wanted to waste his time and aggrevate him) the i told him he and his company was a scam. But what really concerned me was that he called me by my last name. So I'm going to block his number and i would suggest that if any of you have that ability to do the same thing.

I actually listened to the message for once.  It said press "2" to discontinue further calls.  I did press "2", thinking that would automatically take my number off the list.  Instead, a live person came on the line.  I just hung up.

Wow! do you really think this is the vermin at Portfolio Recovery, phishing? They are so pathetic.

This morning I received a *second* 1099-C from these scum. We already had one to send in with our tax return for 2010. I already complained to the IRS and to the FTc and to the Post Office, and to my state attorney general.

Doesn't anybody stop these thieving bottom feeders? I called my state rep, Charlie Dent, the first time I got a 1099-C from PRA. They said they would get back to me, but they never did. Since then, I have written to Congressman Dent, at least once, maybe twice, and again, no reply. No wonder these PRA vermin are so brazen. Thank you, to the Best Congress Money Can Buy!!!

Do you really think ANY credit card company is going to call you and OFFER to reduce the interest rate?  This is Portfolio Recovery attempting to record anything you might say that will acknowledge a past statute of limitations credit card debt so activates a new collection period in your state, most likely 6 years.  They will use any underhanded and illegal method to accomplish their goal.

Got a unsolicated call from this number and they hanged up after our answering machine picked up.  We get alot of these calls from other areas.  We have been monitoring calls for quite some time.  They need to stop harassing not just us, but other people as well.

These things are all scams. If you call your CC company and ask for a lower rate, (depending on payment history) 90% of the time they will do it (3-4%). They want you to use the cards, so a lower rate might give an incentive to use them more.
Do not fall for these telescammers.

Have had many such calls over the past couple of years.  As soon as a real operator comes on the line, I blast my air horn.  Probably doesn't do any good, but I sure feel better!

Called ID -PROCEDURES-no message. Then when you pick up your phone to make next call, you cannot call - phone automatically dials the number. Message - if you do not want to receive our special permotions any longer please press 1. The line continues to be blank. When you hang up and pick up the phone to make another call, your line is tied up to a blank syslem.  You can do nothing.  You cannot callout and unable to receive calls for a time period of at least 15 minutes.  SCAM to use telephone service of innocent people?!

Wise up !  None of you have had calls from Portfllio Recovery?  They are fishing.  Answer a few questions from one of their phoney call claim and they will begin harrasing you most likely for a past legal statute debt.  They will never stop calling from whatever number they can attach.  Good Luck !!!!!  Pure pond scum.
