I would like to say I'm shocked that this is still going on, but I'm not.

This company will rotate names and numbers, but it's still the same company.
I'm documenting my run in with the company at Debtorboards.com
Just search for Zenith Financial.

October 14th, they were supposed to have been trained in the FDCPA.
Looks like that training didn't stick.

And Susan Cooper was on that list of people who apparently passed the "exam" with a 50 out of 50 score, or 100%. Tsk, Tsk.

I would say enough FTC complaints would shut the operation down, but cockroaches are hard to get rid of, they'd just open under a different name.

Used to be Simmons, Simms, Earven and Bowen, Then it became Zenith, Then Century Claim Services, and who knows however many other names.

The funny part of it was, in my case, the debt they were trying to collect, never existed. And even if it did, I'd never pay it to this company. There are collectors out there that follow the law, but this company isn't one of them. Don't fund their racketeering by opening your wallet. Make them prove you owe it. I'd put a 100% guarantee they could never do so in a court of law.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

I too received several calls from this number. Susan Cooper, Barbara Washington, and a Mr. Taylor called to inform me that I was on default on a payday loan. Really? Funny cause I've NEVER been to a payday loan company! They tried to make me divulge (verify) personal info. None of what they had was accurate except public info such as address. I told her the info she had was inaccurate and I've never been to a loan co. like that. She told me that charges could be pending and my "info" was set to be forwarded to my state since I refused to cooperate with her!  When I told "Susan Cooper" a friend of mine was a federal agent and I was going to inform them of this matter, she became indignant and told me this had nothing to do with them. Really? Cause I'm positive the phone system is an FCC matter! Needless to say she quickly got off of the phone. I am going to contact my friend and get this matter investigated.

this Susan Cooper and Brian Jones  called my elderly mother and  threatened to arrest her . My poor mom gave her, her banking information and agreed to pay 500.00 to this scammer. if my Mother had not called to borrow the money from my son, i would never have known,  I immediately told her to stop payment and close the ccount. People beware of these soulful southern accented people.  TYhey are a big Scam. and I hope they are punished for decieving innocent people.

You know, the exact same thing is happening to me. I did take out a payday loan, but my lawyer advised me to stop payment on the checks, which I did. Besides, I paid back four times more in interest than the loans were worth once everything was said and done. Investigator Cooper also said that it could affect my ability to drive for 6 months to a year. I live in Texas and the phone number on my caller ID is from Oregon and the number she told me to call is from Montana (or vice versa).

I intend to take this matter to the DA's office on Monday. I already talked to the Sheriff (about 5 months ago when I received a similar call), and he said there wasn't squat they could do if I stopped payment on the check.

Received a call from a "Miss Cooper" stating I had taken out a payday advance loan from 2011 and I have not paid on it. I never have taken out a pay day loan so not too sure what is going on. I hung up on her when she started yelling at me. When she called back it went straight to voicemail and in her voicemail she said they were going to press charges without my statement about this matter. SCAM ALERT!!!

I got a VM from this # stating that I now will have federal charges against me for a returned item and I only have two days to respond or they will file charges without my statement.  the phone # to return is totally different... the caller (Susan Cooper)  wants me to call her back at 541-272-3870.  She never did say what company she is with and claimed all my info has been verified.   I don't write checks.. must be a scam!

Left a message that I had a returned item from my bank and that I needed to call a different number (completely different area code) to get it resolved. I only have one bank account and have never had a returned item. Possible scam.
