i been called twice by these people, saying i owe for a visa credit card from 1999 !!! never once did they say they were trying to collect a debt like legitimate collection agencies do, right away it was all about getting $900 from me or a legal warrant for my arrest for fraud was going to be issued.... Ive dealt with many bad collectors before, and knowledge of your rights is key...

I previously posted reguarding this number. I have since then blocked the 406-272-1479 from calling my number and now they are calling me from 313-556-2618 with the same recording....Just FYI don't fall for it...it is a SCAM!!! I tried to do a reverse look-up on their numbers to verify who they actually are and it comes up with no name of the caller that is calling....
SO NOW I KNOW FOR SURE THEY A FULL OF HOG WASH!!!! and the debt they are trying to say that I owe, has been paid already and I have written proof that it has been paid!

I started getting phone calls fro some other person from this company. And then when I called to tell them that the person they were calling for did not belong to this phone number a week later they started calling for me. They could not give me my current address, and they were trying to collect on an account that I had already paid in full and I had proof that I had already paid it in full. And once I told them that they hung up on me, so I called them back and they still kept hanging up on me. I really don't know who these people think they are but they are trying to SCAM people out of their money. FIrst off usually if you have an account that is up for collection, they will send you a letter in the mail with your current address, which they couldn't give me my current address, and I never received a letter from this company. BEWARE, do not fall for their fraudulent fake selves.

They called both of my telephone  numbers, leaving messages in both phones stating to be informing me of two fraudulent charges in my name and social security number and that if I didn't call this number before the summons was received there would be nothing i could do.

I just got a call from the 406-272-1479 number stating the exact same things as everyone else. The first time I called the number back a guy picked up the phone and immediately placed me on hold (I couldn't catch how he identified himself.) After being on hold for 7+mins I hung up. I called back 7 more times and 3 times the guy answered and uttered different titles but placed me on hold the same. 2 times a lady answered and placed me on hold. The second to last time the guy answered and id'd himself I asked if he could repeat he hung up on me. The final time the guy answered; he id'd himself again I asked him to repeat he did  and I asked what company I was calling he said GA. I said ok and hung up. These losers need to get a life.

this woman has called multiple times using my maiden name that i havent used in years. stating "good luck in court" having papers to file on me to my place of employment and place of address.  I would think by now being married for 3 years they would know i haven't used the name in years if it was a legit legal problem and i have yet to see papers with either name or the name of the company .

I am also receiving calls regarding some unpaid debt from this number. They are saying they are filing lawsuit.  They told me it was from a debt in either 2005 or 2006 but they did not have the information in front of them.  They keep calling leaving messages that they are taking legal action.

I got a call yesterday and it was around 5:30 PST and it was also a recording and it didn't even sound like my first name that the recording was saying. I called it back and no answering machine! just rang and rang then a message came on saying that the extension I was trying to reach was incorrect to try again. So I called this morning and the say something really quick that all I understood was do you have a case number? and then was placed on hold. Wonder if people can sue this callers cuz im pregnant and don't need stress like this that just really freaked me out when I know I have been doing my best to clear things up.

I got a call from this number, on my cell phone and landline a recording with a  female voice stating my name and  that they are calling from processing and summons division to notify of 2 charges that will be filed in my county due to some fraudulent activity attached to my name and social security number, they are calling to make me aware of my right to address the charges before I get served at my home address or place of employment they asked to call 406 272 1479 (land line from billings, MT) and talk to someone in their legal department. When I called the first day no one picked up and the second day the line was no longer valid. WHAT THE F***! This is such a scam!

We received this call at our firm identifying someone who is neither a client nor an employee.  The recording is very scary sounding, explaining you will be served with a summons at work or home and charges will be filed against you if you don't call and talk with their "legal department."  If you are contacted by this company and they are attempting to collect a legitimate debt, please consider calling an attorney with knowledge of Unfair Debt Collection Practices.

Upon my return call to have our number removed from their call list after the ridiculous recording, I requested their legal department and was immediately placed on hold.  I "manager" came on the line indicating they have no legal department.  I informed him the recording stated to contact the legal department, and that it would be my preference to speak with them about the phone calls we are receiving.  The manager identified the company as "GMA - Goldman and Associates."  He claimed to not know that the recording referred people to the legal department regarding a summons or charges being filed against them.  Surely, considering the number of posts here and his position as a manager, he has heard this before.

Even if it is a real debt collection who calls without properly identifying their company and who calls to warn about charges to be  filed without sending anything in the mail?... what are they expecting a payment over the phone?!! ... The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) continues to receive complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. As previously reported in December 2010, the typical payday loan scam involves a caller who claims the victim is delinquent on a payday loan and must make payment to avoid legal consequences.

Callers pose as representatives of the FBI, ?Federal Legislative Department,? various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies and claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, or other Internet check-cashing services. The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment in attempts to obtain payment. The callers refuse to provide information regarding the alleged payday loan or any documentation and become verbally abusive when questioned.

The IC3 has observed variations of this scam in which the caller tells the victim that there are outstanding warrants for the victim?s arrest. The caller claims that the basis of the warrants is non-payment of the underlying loan and/or hacking. If it?s the latter, the caller tells the victim that he or she is wanted for hacking into a business? computer system to steal customer information. The caller will then demand payment via debit/credit card; in other cases, the caller further instructs victims to obtain a prepaid card to cover the payment.

The high-pressure collection tactics used by the fraudsters have also evolved. In one recent complaint, a person posed as a process server and appeared at the victim?s job. In another instance, a phony process server came to a victim?s home. In both cases, after claiming to be serving a court summons, the alleged process server said the victim could avoid going to court if he or she provided a debit card number for repayment of the loan.

If you are contacted by someone who is trying to collect a debt that you do not owe, you should:
?Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger;
?Contact your bank(s) and credit card companies;
?Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file;
?If you have received a legitimate loan and want to verify that you do not have any outstanding obligation, contact the loan company directly;
?File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.

They've been harassing us for years about somebody we never even heard of. I called and cussed the woman who answered 'til a fly wouldn't light on her but it doesn't do any good. I guess we're going to have to track them down and get their attention the way my granddad used to get his mule's attention.
