Called my cell phone. I did not answer and no voicemail message was left. It came up as a landline.

Got a call from Sophie. She started to talk about the scratch ticket (probable scam). I cut her off, and engaged her in conversation. She told me she is calling from Orem, UT (which she pronounced like it was all one word, and mispronounced Utah). I asked for the company's physical address, and was given 292 E 12200 S, Jasper, UT. The address is probably a fake, I couldn't find it anywhere. A phone number of 801-495-2009 does show that the number belongs to Federal Marketing Group and Federal Financial in Draper, UT. I asked her why she was calling from a Montana area code if she was in Utah, she couldn't tell me why.

I finally got tired of asking questions, and she tried to get me back onto her sales call, so I told her I had a customer, and hung up.

when they asked me, I only told them the basics--was supposed to be three questions; 4th question was whether or not I was married and I declined to state. They said to watch the mail for the scratch card. There was no obligation to pay anything.

Just got though receiving bot call from bot caller 702-347-6058 about 15 min ago...

Now I got this call from 406-290-3134 (no message).

DO NOT ANSWER CALLS YOU DO NOT RECOGNIZE!!!  You can get into more frustration if you do. If they are personal calls that you don't recognize they should leave a message. Then you can call them back.

The "Do Not Call List" does not work and it is NOT enforced any more. It is even worse if your number is on the internet somewhere like in a business (social) networking site or at something like Dun & Bradstreet (which used to be a reputable business database, but now is in it for the money -selling your info and charging you to update your info with them, else they lower their credit report of you).

At one time I worked for an outbound telemarketer.  The computer would dial and when the call was answered with a human voice, our line was opened for conversation.  At that time, the computer would show us what product we were going to sell, and had the dialouge we were to follow.   If we didn't we got written up and fired. The "policies" were to try AT LEAST 3 times to get a sale, and if we didn't get one, the number went back into the system for a redial.

HERES THE CATCH- Sometimes the only way to get them to stop is to tell them that the person they are calling for just passed away.  Gruesome, I know, but it stops them.

THE OTHER THING - ALL of our call lists were names and numbers provided by the GASOLINE COMPANY CC LISTS!!!!!  Also DISCOVER sold the lists they had too!   They can always get a list of homeowners and mortgage companies through public information in the libraries and county treasurers.

I understand this is all a PAIN, BUT having been in the shoes of one of the telemarkerters, please understand it is just a JOB.  They too are trying to stay warm and fed.

Didn't answer, I'm on DNC list & this was on my cell phone. Can we go after the carrier who allows these people to abuse the system like this?

These people are trying to get your information to get you to pay for their "free" vacation that pretty much everyone will "win". It is a scam. The details are at www.ffg2.com/rules
Tell the caller (in India though they say they are in Utah) they need to get a different job because the FCC has a pending lawsuit against their company and it will hopefully soon be shut down. The callers themselves are just people working for the scammers unknowingly, they thanked me for informing them.

Just like all the other posting very aggressive to verify generic, public, personal information that is available online. After viewing the website for this company FFG2.COM I would assume this is a Ponzi Scheme. Suggest filing complaint with FTC.

I just received a call from this number telling me that my name was drown for their company scratch card, but in order t qualify I had to answer three questions. They were given plasma TV, $2500, and something else. The first question was asking what age group I belong to 18-24, 25-45-, or 45-65 not sure what the other two are, but I knew they required me to give out personal information about myself. I told the guy that I'm not going to give him any personal information, and he continued on talking and saying " there is only 3 questions" I kept telling him not to call me, but he continued talking so I ended up hanging up the phone.

I never pick up these random unknown calls on my cell phone. I always hop on here and check for reports. Noted Cindy Allen stated the caller would meet her locally. Everyone post your city, state and it will prove this is a scammer. THey are trying to target confused people such as the elderly to pull off their scams.

got a call tonight, she (I'm guessing Sonya) said some people in my neighborhood were selected for the promotion... I told her that she was calling a cell phone number and to remove me from the list.  She politely said she understood and apologized for the inconvenience.

I honestly could only understand about half of what she even told me through the thick accent, so right off the bat I was sceptical... I'm also on the do not call list.

Very interested to see if anything happens to this scammer.

Company called me and stated that I had been selected to participate in a promotion. Scatch off card with one of four prizes avaliable. They said that a representive would hand deliver to my address. I told them I was not interested. He then stated that they could meet me anywhere that was public. Again I told him that I was not interested. He then said ok and hung up. My number is listed on the "do not call" list. I don't know how they got my number.

They called right around 7 p.m. tonight looking for someone who must have had the phone number a long time ago as I have had the same home phone for over five years. Then they were like well since this is the phone number, you have been selected for our scratch card promotion. I kept saying not interested and finally had to just hang up the phone.

Just got a call, offered the same prizes but didn't really ask anything personal. Just my age group range and income range ( i gave false information on both), didn't even ask my last name.  Probaly some kind of scam but I don't know what they could with the information they were asking for.

Survey
Just received a call from Sonya, promoting Federal Financial Group with a scratch card promotion campaign.
Not sure if it's legit...so I declined to accept one of the four (4) prizes being offered: a Ford Explorer, $2500 in cash, a Bahama vacation, or a hotel getaway.

Either way...someone, somewhere was going to want my personal information and identification.
NOT GOOD!
As a previous victim of fraud, I do not recommend giving out any identifying information over the phone or to an untrusted, and/or unverified, source!!
