I got the same call for a $200 gas voucher asking for my 'plastic card' number. lol. I was bored so I played along. Gave them a bogus number and address that ended in F-U-C-K. Haha. They were relentless tho. They tried to convince me they were legit. A***oles!
The number was 7165572484

I was called by these people. They are scammers. I tell you the full story. I called Aetna Health Insurance and listened to the message directory they have. I then found myself talking to a woman who asked if I would like a $50.00 Wal-Mart gift card at no charge. I said yes, but then I asked why Aetna insurance would offer me a gift card? She said it was because I have been such a good customer. Eventually they wanted to sign me up with a Privacy Matters subscription for $19.95 a month. The woman I talked to at first later had me talk to a man who would confirm my address and Visa card number. I eventually had second thoughts about it and cancelled the card. They have been calling me many times, I just let the answering machine recieve the call. The woman I talked to at first lied to me because Aetna had nothing to do with this. How they intercepted the call I don't know.

I have no clue how this creep got my number. I don't answer, because I only answer the phone if it's my mother, but this is creepy. I haven't put my number anywhere new but college scholarship applications.I am creeped out because I don't want my phone hacked by a creeper who wants to take my money.

I keep getting calls from this number too and when I pick up the phone nobody responds when I say hello. I thought it mightve been a family member emergency considering the amount of calls and the times they called. They have called at least 10 times within a 24 hour period which is strange.

I was called from this number looking specificly for me, even knew my really name. Weirdest part was that they called my girlfriends number nd asked for me. They don't know her so I'm trying to figure it out. Also they left no caller company nd I received a text from someone monthes before this happened. I called back nd it said if I would like to be taken off of a call list then press one. Most likely a hacker nd scam for money. Do not call this number back!

I started receiving calls from this # a day and a half ago.  I too get no response when I answer, so I began ignoring them and have had no voice-mail message left.  The only thing that's changed around here is that I upgraded my Verizon mobile phone to a Palm Pre two and a half days ago.

I got the same calls offering the same thing. This guy had my address info and said his name was Charles Brown. I could not understand him at all. He kept asking me for my card number. I did not fall for this scam. Showed up ad AAF DEALS on caller ID.

i received 7 calls from 701-217-1591 in a 24 hour period(different #, same scam). i finally answered and the heavily accented male first told me he was from "American Benefits" and i was one of 15 people in my state to be selected to get a $200 gas voucher/card b/c of my shopping at wal-mart and having good standing with my payments. he assured me that there was no obligation, nothing to buy and just needed the address to send it to and how the name should read on the card. i did give my address and thats when he proceeded to ask for my credit or debit card # to verify that i am still an active consumer.

at that point i figured it was a scam and asked what the company name was again and this time he told me he was with "Oasis Travel" i asked if thy had a website i could look up for more info and if there was anyway i could independently verify the info and he advised me that i would get all of that info after i gave him my card number.

i told him that i did not feel comfortable giving my info unless i knew who i was giving it to. he then said he would transfer me to his manager who would give me more info.

the "manager" he transfered me to (coincidentally sounded almost exactly like the first guy) started going through the whole script again.
said he was located in Phoenix, AZ but WOULD NOT give me an actual address. at this point he told me that:
his name was Roger Brown with Oasis travel Phoenix az
his Rep id #B50717
my Package # fx002051
but would not give me any additional information.

i then told them i wsnt interested and hung up.
the same person/same # called right back
i asked for the companies TAX ID # to verify the info and he refused (if a company is legite they would never refuse to give you their TAX ID #)

i then told them again i wasnt interested and to not call me anymore and hung up again.

i called my local FBI to see if there is anything i should/can do about this. the woman i spoke to took a basic report of all the above info and said it will be on record but there is nothing they can do unless it becomes a largely reported problem.

if you experience this you should try to get as much information as you possibly can from the person calling and report it to the FBI and/or your local authorities

I am in the bed sick and some thug who probably lives in Columbia, MD (total sociopath) keeps calling my number insisting I am Michael Jordan.  If I turned into a clone or a man, then someone needs to tell me.  If I ever am lucky enough to contact Michael Jordan, I will tell him that this Portuguese fart who keeps harrassing me is using his name in vain.  If you call the number back, recording comes on that says "the number is not allocated."

These people are definitely scammers.  When they ask for your credit card, DO NOT, DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM.  I have been scammed by these kind of people before, and did they take tons of money.  Becareful.  I told them they were not getting a credit card that they could send an invoice and they guy on the phone said "fine" and hung up.

I've gotten a few calls from them, and only answered twice. Both times it sounded like that same guy, spoke with an Indian accent and his English was poor. I dragged on the calls both times to mess with them in attempt to be so annoying that they don't call back. they said my name and number were selected from online, I asked him where he was located, he said phoenix Arizona, I asked why they only accept credit card info, he said they used to accept cash but don't anymore because once they had people going to their doors to get the money, but the people weren't home and they lost a lot of money. He never clearly answered my questions. Near the end I asked if I can be put on a no-call list, he then asked why I didn't say that in the first place and waste his time to which I brought up that I told him that the first time (after I asked if he remembers me from last week, and he said yes) then as I continued to repeatedly ask if he can take me off, he would just ask if I wanted it, I said no, and he hung up.

Then I called the number back and pressed one to be removed from the "preferred call list", so I'm pretty sure I will still get calls.

I have just called and spoke with a lady named Wendy from Oasis Travel and it is a legitimate business that is located in Minnesota. They are in NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH THE PEOPLE CALLING!!!!! Feel free to look her up as I did, but please do not bash on actual companies saying that they are phony because a scammer took their name.

Whenever I yell at them to stop calling they just hang up and call me an hour later. My only advice is to register on the do not call list, and also file a complaint online.

They've been calling me one to three times a day for weeks.  I never pick up, and thanks to reading this website, I never will.  They probably got my number from me replying to a fake craigslist ad for employment or something.  Awesome.  LOVE the age of technology.

Have gotten 7 calls from this number so far today.  I did answer the last call, and yes they offered me a $200.00 gas card for $2.00 shipping.  He said his name was Andrew and had a very think middle eastern accent.  He wanted my credit card number and became very rude when I refused.  I did a reverse phone lookup and they are located in Billings, Montana.

If he's calling your cell assign his number the ring tone "no ring".  It won't stop the calls but you won't have to listen to them.

Or contact your phone provider.  Ask them for help.  Some phone plans allow you to block specific numbers.
