Hey- just got a text from 281-436-9626 about buying my car in Ontario at 11:30 at night.  Text stated that the contact email was the same as Eric's: Melody Cruise. Also be aware the email address is: melody.cruise@yahoo.com  SCAM!!! and not a very good one

Melody Cruise is using the number 281-436-9626 now. Wants my car in Saskatchewan with a Texas number? I don't think so.

In the last few days, I have been in touch with the same Melody Cruise at 406-359-1566 about the sale of my car on Kijiji. First contact with SMS and later through e-mail... I still don't understand how Melody can expect to make money out of this scam... nobody would give his car to a stranger before seeing the colour of money... Where is the trick?

Funny I received the text about 2 mins after I refused to deal through PayPal from another text. I got an initial text from 917-410-1256 requesting my PayPal info to buy my car sight unseen. I said I am only comfortable dealing face to face and with cash. hopefully no one falls for these scams! Thanks for sharing your experiences too!!!

The African "Romance" Scammers are now using 406 on dating sites.  They send u a message and ask that you call them.  I recognize those low lifes a mile away and report them to the site owners.

All the people that posted a message on this number are liars and a bunch of hypocrite craving for attention.Why are you not gonna be scammed when you are willing to sell an item worth 100$ for 350$ just because you think African are fools? I think you can only be scammed when you have a tendency to scam someone else.Think twice.

I got a text from this number. same story, in rehab in another state and wanted to buy it and have me ship it to africa and he would pay for it. I said, why are you looking for a laptop in FL then y not just buy one in your area and ship it yourself? lol he says he used to live in FL. (still makes no sense) So he says he can send me the money via paypal or direct bank deposit. I replied, How about you send me a money order to my PO Box, or you can send me a moneygram... lol no response, what an idiot.

Same thing is happening to me right now.  selling my ipod on craigslist and this guy said he would even send me money via my paypal account.  i gave him the email to send the money 2 but he keeps askin for the name on the account.  you dont need the name to send the money.  this guy is a freakin tard

He also tried to scam me. I had my camera on craigslist and said he'd pay for shipping and such... But wouldn't give me a direct offer. Said it was for his brother who is studying in Africa. My husband didn't recognize the area code so he looked it up and saw all these posts. Glad he did! I never would have shipped without the cash in my hand, anyway, but, still glad I didn't get into the middle of this person's scam! Hopefully no one else got too far into it!

got a text about my camera. said that he wanted to buy it. he was in rehab so he couldn't talk in person. said he would pay asking cost, and asked if we would have it shipped to Africa. he would include shipping cost, it would be for his grandson. not sure is this is a scam  but pretty sure, from looking at the other posts. thx.

Got a message wanting me to ship a camera that I have on Craig's list to his grandson in Africa.

Got a text, Wanted to buy a Macbook that i put on craigslist. Wanted it for a brother studying in "africa."dont fall for scammers.
