We have received 2 calls from this number. The first time was yesterday but we weren't home. The second time was today, just a few mins ago. I answered and a man, with a middle eastern accent was on the other end. He asked for my husband and I asked, "May I ask who is calling?" He mumbled something that I couldn't make out and I said, "Excuse me? What did you say?" Then the person hung up on me. I tried calling back and received the same as the rest of you, a recording for the Montana VFW. I'm wondering, are they calling everyone or just veterans? My husband is a vet and I saw there was another woman on here who's husband is a vet.

Thank you for this post! I have no problem giving support to disable  vets but something about this call made me very uneasy. Not going to give them my money! I think they are scamming.

I would like to stop getting call's from this number

We told them to not call again but that didn't seem to make any difference.I don't answer and they don't leave a message. Still call a couple times a week.

We have received several calls from this number in Missoula (Montana) - we don't answer unidentified callers and a message has not been left.

Person always asks to speak to the business owner concerning a civic matter.   Doesn't actually know the business owners name.  Have asked several times for  them to remove our number from the list but they obviously don't.  I just hang up on them.

Yeah, It is the VFW. They are wanting volunteers to help with charity support.

Total scam. Report this number to the state attourneys general office immediately. If you gave them your credit card number cancel the card immediately or block the payment.

This number calls twice a day, but never leaves a message.  I want it to stop.

These guys are beggers.  They call on Sunday nights at 8PM begging for money.  They have been both rude to me and my wife more than once, we have asked them not to call us.  I've been called back by them after I told them they were beggars and even threatened.  Since I could not prove it the police could not follow up on it.

I love the vets of this country, these guys make money off their great honor.

Calls from this number, caller rudely asks to speak to the owner then hangs up.  Once he said it was a local civic matter.

I have been getting calls from this number once or twice each week for about the past six months.  Since I monitor calls and don't pick up unless I want to speak to the caller, this 406-371-9029 caller always hangs up when I don't pick up.  My phone provider (Bresnan) has a selective number block option which I have just used and hope not to get any further calls from these jerks.

This call comes from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Dept of MT. Their toll free # is 800-768-0714. Their recording says they are calling with important information and to ask for support on this year's community development drive (asking for $).  They are a national non-profit making fund raising calls. They usually hang up before we answer (we are a business) but when they have gotten through we hang up on them.

Have called almost every day for a week and a half never anyone the other end or they hang up right a way.

These calls come from Xentel in Oshkosh Wisconsin.  Xentel is a fund raiser for fire and police departments and have now branced out to Vets it would appear.  They are ruthless and once you ask them not to call you they will harass you.  Report them to the state attorney because if you ask them to not call they are bound by the Do Not Call rules and the laws of Montana and must not call you.

Actually if you look closely at the Do Not Call rules, at least for Montana, non-profit organizations are exempt from this rule.

They seem to  be branching out to further education prompts now as well. They are calling twice or three times a day - either hanging up when the phone is answered or asking strange questions - like what is 27 to 7.

I am getting calls everyday from these people. I haven't been answering as they have called my business line while I'm in class. Today they called earlier than usual and I answered. There were three beeps and a disconnect. I'm really getting annoyed with this since I get charged per incoming call.

I did not feel well the day I got a call from that number.  I foolishly gave my credit card number and pledged $20.00.  They were to send a receipt, which has not been received.  Suspect this is not a legitimate fund raiser.

call and hang up here, too.  if there is a way to make them stop, please advise.

They've called here twice -- I don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number -- I too suspect this is a Billings or Shephard number -- the caller hangs up when the anwering machine comes on -- so if it continues, I will report it to the Attorney General and let him deal with it.....there are so many scam phone calls out there and they seem to target us Seniors a lot -- well, I may be a little older - but I'm a whole lot wiser also -- I reported another number that called for months -- this is a way that some of the phone lists are made that get sold -- they figure if you'll answer your phone maybe they can talk you into something - I do not give to any callers of any entities - legit or not - unless they want to send me some literature concerning where the money will be used - that usually stops it...better luck next time, Sucka........

I'm so sick and tired of reporting numbers like this to the FTC - they always send me follow-up saying they can't do anything about it. They are useless.

The called me and told me sometimes they pee red.

I feel like this number has been calling me for atleast a year for about once or twice a week.  I never answer it because they hide the caller id.  I wish they would just catch on that I don't plan on talking to them.

they called me and asked if i wanted to come over tonight...no clue who it was

ETA:  I just reported the number to the FTC online.  Hopefully that will help!

I have been getting these calls for months and it's very annoying!!!  They never leave a message, unless it is some one saying 'hello?' then hanging up.  They called again last night, and I clicked to answer and then just hung up.  If there's a way to report this number to the authorities, I would be happy to do so.
