I also was hung up on, but I believe it's because I have a CaptionCall phone.  It's a phone for the deaf and hard of hearing.  It records in writing what the caller is saying and the call can be saved.  Too much evidence against the callers I suppose.

NON-FUNCTIONAL assistance from the FCC, FTC, Do Not Call List and the resulting 24 hour daily harassing calls that the public must endure daily .....

Hello CBS NEWS' Investigative Scam Department (  scams@cbsnews.com  ).  Last night I also sent a similarly insightful e/mail directed to your Los Angeles, CA Investigative Reporter, David Goldstein.  With that plea for investigative assistance I also furnished among other things my personal list of at the time 11 of these phone numbers that I have been able to identify.  Now, less than 24 hours later, my list is already up to 13 from last nights 11.

I don't know how to type this out briefly and I don't want to type out a novel to explain this.  This is a SEVERE matter that is way over my head already and clearly, as per the postings I read almost daily on the internet, quite out of control.  At this point I don't even know if trusting my credit card company is even possible anymore now that I read that credit card companies are selling contact information lists that result in hard working consumers to be harassed at all hours of the day and night on their landline and cell phones (which we have to pay to receive) with unsolicited, unwarranted, bogus financing, mortgage revamps, home construction and various other subjects of solicitation and all even if on the DO NOT CALL LIST for many years as is the case with me.

If you were to simply Google any of these 13 phone numbers that I have "attempted" to block from calling my landline number here at home (see the list  of those 13 numbers below), you'll see ENDLESS complaints posted from other persons such as myself that just can't put up with all of this harassment and disturbance any longer.

Why aren't the agencies assigned to these matters stopping this????  Why aren't these people being fined as stated??? Why doesn't the DO NOT CALL LIST  stop these intruders????  Why must we also be leery of our credit card companies and banking institutions now?????????  Who can we trust now????  Where will we (I) find peace of mind????

We all work hard and we only live once, why can't it be in a peaceful manor without these added burdens to add to life's complexities????  On top of it, the desperate, naive and elderly are falling victim to these scammers.

Am I making any sense to you in what I seek your investigative expertise in?  If the public even hears that CBS INVESTIGATIONS is looking into this, they'll be glued to their T.V.'s just to hear about it and even to see who these persons are, where they call from and why they do it not to mention HOW and WHO was paid to provide our contact information.

Example complaints on the internet by simply doing a phone number search on Google, example  1-305-587-2091 that's all you have to type into the search bar to get these.

Now below is my personal up to date (2/22/12) list of 13 now blocked calls from my home landline.  I can only block 7 more (20 max) with my AT&T Uverse service and I have no idea yet how to block these calls on my AT&T cell phone service yet.

I filed a complaint with the FCC directly and I was issued a case number.  Below is my current list of numbers that I blocked utilizing my 20 block limit on my AT&T Uverse service.  It's simple to block these numbers on line with this service but I'm already up to 11 blocked numbers.  I don't know what I'll do once I have met my max in blocking ability.  You'll see complaints on all 11 of these numbers on the internet.  I have only posted this insight here regarding the phone number 502-632-4428.  I'd have to repost this insight 10 more times if I wanted to make reference to this insight pertaining to all 11 blocked scammer numbers that I have already discovered and blocked.  Here's a copy and paste of my actual on-line list of blocked numbers (see below).  You'll want not only to block all of these but you too should help see to it that this insight be furnished to persons receiving calls from any of these numbers.  I just can't repeat this posting 10 more times.  FILE WITH THE FCC, THE MORE COMPLAINTS THE BETTER.  This subject matter should also be looked into by your local CBS, NBC, ABC investigative / fraud reporters.  It would make for a VERY interesting special report for all viewers to gain from.  This s... has to stop!!!   Good luck and please help put an end to these disruptive intruders / scammers.  CALL THE FCC AT 717-338-2533.  Here's my blocked number list to date (2-22-12).

Computer generated voicemail left on child's phone...partial message regarding lower interest rates.  His phone is on the do not call list.  I called the number back and there was no ring.  UNWANTED CALL - NO WAY TO REQUEST THEY DELETE IT FROM THEIR CALL LIST.  UNACCEPTABLE!

I have had problems with "Credit Services" calls for over a year.  Mostly, it is the recorded voice of Rachael from credit services. I have even told them that we have no credit card debt.  They don't care.  Last time I spoke to a rep, I asked to talk to a manager.  The guy responding to me told me he was the manager.  I told him I was on the do not call list and to take me off their list immediatly or there would be raminfications.  He got very hostile with me, maybe because I was screaming at him.  He told me I could expect to be called 800 more times.

I have tried to not be called again numerous times by selecting the option to not be called, this has never worked. They have probably called me about 50 times in the last few months.

Received call from 406-720-2099.  Hangs up after third ring.  Good thing I have caller ID.  I wish these companies and/or telemarketers would take in consideration that old people cannot get to the phone fast enough.  I'm on the "Do Not Call" list and I still get these calls.

This is one of the well known scams to get your credit info. They are based out of India. I can't list the zillion of big comanpies and banks that have been hacked in 2011/2012, but supposedly this is where they are getting their info from, and it IS a scam!

Some off the top of my head: these people got hacked last year:  Charter One Bank, Office Depot, Best Buy, Verisign security verifiers for internet sites, on and on and on.   This scam has been in the news, specifically.  I'm sorry I don't have links, etc, I'm so POd right now I just wanted to put this up while I remember.  These people have called 19 times in the last 3 days, and on my cell phone Relentlessly!!!  for three months. Total of 252 times, and it is unlisted and on Do Not Call list as is my house phone.   They must leave me 3 messages a day on my cell phone. I have no way to block the #  (AT & T sucks)

It is shameful to me that our government doesn't hold these people to the same standards as 'real' companies that have insiders plot or help to steal.

They are still calling.  Got a call on 2/9/2012 and when I answered got the same spiel about lowering my interest rates.  Computer voice said to press 1 to lower rates and 2 to remove from call list.  I did not press anything, just held on and a person came on the line.  I hung up.  So if the FTC has shut them down, why are they still calling?

I just received a call from "CREDIT SERVICES" at the same number.  I'd read somewhere that if you answer and no one is immediately online, that indicates it's a computer generated call, so quickly press the # sign many times.  That's supposed to mess with their computer and bounce your number off their automated calling system.  That is what I did.  Since I didn't know the company and had no dealings with credit services, I knew the call was a scammer... so I just raised the receiver and started quickly punching the # sign.  Guess I'll see if I get any more calls from that number.  I do that with all callers I don't know... to include those OUT OF AREA, UNAVAILABLE, UNKNOWN NAME and BLOCKED.

If you have call forwarding features (like on Verizon Digital Voice), than forward this jerk to 717-338-2533.  That's the FCC Director's office phone.  Maybe the FCC will finally do their job when they start getting the annoying calls.

I have a feature on my phone that blocks all unwanted calls.  I've had it for about 2 years and absolutely love it!  this 406-720-2099 is the newest member...congrats to them, lol

.....dial *78 and if you have the feature on your phone.....just follow the steps.  If you call *78 right after getting the call, or haven't received any 'friendly' calls since that last annoyance, it will have the number already logged for you.

If you don't have this feature (I had to request it) they will put it on for you.. if they offer it.  At this point, with the number of scam calls I get...I'd have paid for it.

Just looked back and saw the postings on the FTC settlement.   Those Creeps got off way too easy.
They should all be doing at least 1 years worth of jail time with a cell mate whose grandmother was
ripped off by them.  THAT would be justice.

I've been getting the same stupid calls.  Have pressed the indicated # to be dropped.,  have gotten a
service person and told them I am on do not call and to drop me AND have cussed them.   They persist
AND SO DO I .  Everyone out there , keep reporting these scumbags and demanding that the " do not
call registry" track down these scum and dish out some jail time to them.   I would happily participate
as a "bait call " to get more info on this outfit , IF ONLY , the "do not call registry" would ask for
volunteers to have their phone tapped and all calls traced back to the senders.

They don't comply with your request. They continue calling! I have requested that 3 times now, and it's been going on for the past month. The same people call from different numbers. They never say who they are, they only talk about lowering interest rates to as low as 6% on your credit card. HA! That's a laugh anyway.
