Nuisance Robo calls.  One is given the option to press 3 to discontinue calls - this has no effect.  I have tracked through to a live person twice, first requesting my number be removed from their calling list, result: hangup, and then asking questions in my most charming demeanor, result: hangup.  This is incredibly annoying.

I think these guys are spoofing non-existent phone numbers for the CallerID when they call saying "this is a call from your credit card company." First of all, I believe this constitutes a perpetration of a FRAUD since I have long ago canceled all of my credit cards !! I previously spoke with someone on 2010-05-27 1:33:18 PM CDT (CallerID 1-826-000-9728) and told them I am on both the national and state "do not call list" and to remove me from their system. They called back today with caller ID 1-265-000-2899. The caller ID numbers they have used so far all have 000 as the prefix and are:
1-407-000-1919 on 2009-06-16 4:18:03PM  CDT
1-305-000-9876 on 2009-07-18 10:28:04AM CDT
1-917-000-9283 on 2009-12-07 1:26:05PM CST
1-773-000-0000 on 2010-04-06 12:59:42PM CDT
1-826-000-9728 on 2010-05-27 1:33:18PM CDT
1-625-000-8892 on 2010-06-01 3:43:27PM CDT
1-265-000-2899 today, 2010-06-15 2:42:03PM CDT

I also received 15 calls over in the last year between 2009-07-01 and 2010-04-27 from 1-000-000-0000.

Anyone have any idea who we can contact to get these guys charged and off the grid ?

Get the calls on a work cell phone about 3x a week.  Pressed 9 this time and it kept me in a 6~10 minute hold telling me someone would be with me shortly and that I was caller #8, caller #5, 40 seconds, 15 seconds, 15 seconds, etc.  Eventually it hung up after saying good bye.  I personally offer that if anyone can ID who this company is, no matter where they are from I will guarantee to have them shutdown and incapable of restarting within a week of the information being made public.

Same as all the others. They called twice tonight. 407-000-1919 and 407-000-6938. Same story. First call we demanded to be removed from their list. "No problem. Thank you.". Second call 90 minutes later, we asked them "Can I have the name of your company?". Response..."Sure. <click>"

I got the same call today with similar message. I answered but didn't respond. Can't remember if they said "press 9" or gave a number to call back. Caller ID said "Out of area". I don't think "000" after the area code can be a real phone number. While a credit card company may lower your rate if you just ask them, I don't believe they would call and make such an offer.

Got my first call from these bottom feeders at 12:39PM. Would not leave a message on my AM so I Googled the number from my CID which led me here. Glad I did sinse all these reports show me the 'low lifes' they really are. I'm on the state and federal DNC lists, but have getting a rash of illegal calls within the last 12 months from different bloodsuckers. I bought a call blocker from jftech on the web and really is a god sent sinse registering your phone with state and federal DNC lists is not the complete answer.

They called me so I pressed "9" to tell them my number is on the do not call list. She asked me do I owe $3,000 or more on my credit card. I asked her "If you're calling me, wouldn't you know if I did or not?" and she just hung up. I tried calling the number back but I got the disconnect signal. I hope AT&T gets these scammers off the phone lines!

Received a call about credit card debt even though there is a DO NOT CALL in place. I answered it and heard a recording.  It said they were calling from Card Services, there was no problem with my accounts.  I hung up.

Same deal as everyone else -- "Card Services" with an important message about lowering my rate. I pressed 9 to be connected, and I told the dude that answered that if they don't stop calling me, I will report them to the Department of Justice. He said, "The DoJ won't help you because you're an existing customer of Equifax, and we got their name and social security number from them." Stupidly, I didn't ask, "Oh yeah, what's my name?" He told me that if I wanted to have my number removed, to call 800-244-2662. I made him repeat it twice. I called that number -- it's a phone sex line. A-holes. God, I hate these people.

Recorded message saying they could reduce my credit card rates and to press 9.  I pressed 9 and when "Marissa" answered and said "you want to reduce your interest rates?" and I told her no, I want you to take this phone number off your list and that I belong to the do not call registry.....in the middle of my comments she hung up.

Call came from Florida to Kansas @ 11:29 hours on 4-30-09. Call not answered and no message left. Other sites advise this is the typical "make your credit card rates lower".

Have decided to start reporting all these weird calls.  We do not answer if we do not recognize the numer.  The -000- is a giveaway that the number is spoofed, or false in some way. Such an irritation.

"Account Services" called offering to lower interest rates on credit cards. Would not identify company. I told operator I was on do not call list. Transferred to "supervisor." Supervisor asked how he could help. I explained I was on do not call list and asked why they were calling. Supervisor's response was "because you are an a**hole." Boy that hurt coming from a phone scammer. Glad the government is on this.

Tired has it right - 000 exchange shows up just ignore it or put it in your block list. That's why you cant call it back, it's a caller ID spoof of a non-existant number. Like email if you dont know the number then use the answering machine to screen it, look it up in Google then once you end up at a page like this add it to the blocked caller list. It doesnt cost much more than basic caller ID to get a package of features and you can also do anonymous call block so they cant call with their ID blocked.

Just let it go to the machine, no answer. Googled it to this posting to validate what I thought it was (since a 000 exchange does not exist in area codes, at least for other than telco use) and once the machine dropped the line I simply pressed *60 then a #01# and they are in my block list now with the rest of the spoofers and scammers. Also on a DoNotCall but they know you can't backtrack to the real number and the telcos could care less.

Received the phone call about 7 hours ago.  I pressed 9 thinking sure I would like to lower my rates but knew NOT to give out any numbers.  I did verify phone # which worries me now but I would not tell them anything else until he would verify the company he worked for.  He said "well you need to answer these questions to see if you verify so we don't waste your time."  I replied, "unless you tell me what company you aren't getting any info."  Click is what I heard next.
