Have see info that this is a "Spoof" number, that really gets me ticked !!! I think they should shut down the companies who do this..... we'd be in big trouble if we did this... they should be too.

The representative gave me the number 800-847-2911 and said the company name is Cardmember Services.  They are located in Florida.  I have been on the "do not call" registry since 2008.

Please refer to my posts (responses) to playswscissors and another.  Looking through my caller ID, I also noted I got a call from a 1-305-000-4796 number the other day, no message left, I am sure it is more of these a**holes, and when I tried to call it back, got a fast busy tone.  I filed complaints with the PA State Atty General, and FTC, via donotcall.gov so please everyone else do the same!!

I just received another of these annoying calls too!  I requested my name be removed and was told rudely by some female, "I can't do that; deal with it" and then she hung up on me!! Beeeotch!!  I attempted to call right back,
with the intent of speaking with a manager or supervisor to tell them I am on the Do not call list, but immediately the phone call was answered then hung up on, then further attempts are now fast busy tones.  I FILED COMPLAINTS WITH THE PA STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE AND THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION, AS THIS IS AT LEAST SOME ATTEMPT AT RECORDING WHAT THESE SCAM ARTISTS ARE TRYING TO DO.  I ONLY WISH I HAD STARTED TO PLAY ALONG WITH THESE A**HOLES TO GET EVEN MORE INFORMATION OUT OF THEM!!  EVERYONE PLEASE FILE COMPLAINTS AS THE LEAST YOU CAN DO!!  I will try to call these a**holes again!

Again I received another of these crap phone calls, I answered and ressed 9 to speak to a "live" operator, and when I asked which credit card company, she told me "this isn't a credit card company, this is a cardholder services for lowering interest rates."  I then asked her to remove my name from her list, and she promptly replied, "sorry, can't do that, deal with it" and hung up!!  SCAM BEWARE!!  THen, I tried to call back, immediately got humg up on and then consecutive attempts a "busy" signal!!  I plan on forwarding this information to the State Attorney Generals' office.

THIS IS A SCAM!!!!  I called the phone company up to try to do something about these constant annoying (understated) people calling.  I was informed it is a scam so are with the phone calls about your car warranty running out soon.  If you are on the no call list you can prosecute but have to involve the police and *57, your phone company should be able to help you.  The person with the phone company also told me to call the attorney general with a complaint and ask them why there isn't a consumer alert about this out.  A number of states have put an end to these scams.  I got phone calls from this number 352-000-7623 and 407-000-3131 with the same message and idiots on line.  Trust me I wish I could reach through the phone lines and touch someone!!!!  But they hide behind a coded phone number and are rude cowards.  I will prosecute them if possible.  We need to put a stop to them!

*LAUGHING AT MONKEYWRENCHER*  You're right, we gotta have a sense of humor about this. I've promised myself I won't answer when I see those #s again, but that's true, if they can interrupt my privacy and encroach on my time and pry for personal information, I'm going to let 'em have both barrels.  I need to practice my cynicism...

I just got called twice within an hour, once from 1-407-000-3131, and once from 1-352-000-7623.  Thankfully we have caller ID so I will never answer to these numbers again.  I find it ironic that the automated lady, "Rachel", warns you that it's your FINAL NOTICE to lower your interest rates, yet we have been receiving several calls a month. (We are on the national do not call list).  Every time this happens I politely request to be removed from their call list, and they either act like they haven't heard a word I've said, or they mumble a goodbye and hang up.  I've even told them we're not IN debt, so don't call again. Doesn't work. It's an annoyance and a hoax, IMHO.

I just received a phone call from 4070003131 on my home phone over lunch, and picked it up as we are getting many phone calls from our credit card companies who will not stop calling unless we yell at them.  I got the recorded message asking me to press 9 to speak to an operator about lowering my APR.  I pressed 9 to see who would answer, got a very polite and official sounding gentleman so I played along for a little longer.  He asked several questions, including how much credit card debt do I owe, how many cards do I have, what is the highest percent interest I pay, and I gave him some general numbers.  No PII at the point (Pesonally Identifiable Information - I work as an IT consultant).  He then said he needed to verify that at least one of my accounts was current and asked me for the 800 number on the back of one of my cards.  It was at that point that I asked him "How do I know that I am speaking with a legitimate company right now?".  You guessed it...'click', buzz.  Hung right up on me.  Searched the number and found this site.  Scary stuff out there, everyone beware!!!

Well they are a scam, They didn't even know the name of my credit card company. I got really mad. Told the guy as I was a senior citzen, i would like to record the call for my records, with his permission, of course. Somehow we got discounted. this didn't stop the calls. They appear to be using a Cell Phone, maybe even a throw away cell phone. There is more then one outfit doing this. the attorney geneneral has 72,000 compliuants on one company doing the car warranty ad. Evidently some idiot sold the software that has been used for this to several companies, and told them "The calls can't be traced, sodon't worry about getting nailed for calling someone on the Do-Not-Call list." I hear that 911 centers and police private numbers have been hit by this. Isn't technology wonderful. One idiot can make millions mad and scam thousands with very little effort.

You guys gotta stop lettin them piss you off. Have fun! Say to them... "What???!! No s***?? It expired?? Holy mother of george bush!! You can't be serious!! Well what in hell can i do??" Let them go on with their pitch...string em out as long as you can... then say... "Huh?? Could you repeat that?? I was just watchin on fox news isreal just nuked iran..but i'm still interested..could sure use that warranty after the rapture!!" Or try this... " Ok son...I'm interested in your fine offer..but first i must ask you pray with me..repeat after me... dear lord...forgive me for pestering people during their time of leisure..etc etc.." Look up a book written before the Do Not Call list.. "Fun With Phone Solicitors" by Robert Harris. Look up web sites with ideas on how to handle the annoying twits. If you have friends over during one of their calls...enlist them to perform brain surgery on the annoying a***ole! Have a ball...then tell us about your creative American methods dealing with these terrorists!

It's not that it's a Voip call and they can't be traced...they are spoofing their caller id which has been illegal in this country since '07 unless you're in law enforcement, social services, and a few other exceptions.  It may be a Voip call, but that's not why the caller id is phoney.

Answered on 3rd ring but no one there. My Tele-Zapper might have disconnected us if it was a computer-generated call. Thank you, Lord, for Tele-Zapper! Tried to return call to 407-000-3131 and got fast busy signal indicative of a busy trunk. BTW, diabetes equip sellers are hounding me and when I tell them I am happyw ith what I have they talk over me and if I dont give them the response they are looking for they hang up. Now getting spam on my cellfone, too, trying to sell me insurance to extend my car warranty. I don't have a car.

I have reduced the amount of these annoying calls by using the blocking system provided by my phone provider.  Check with your provider and find out how to block calls that are not identified in your caller id.  I think that so many people have done this that now the callers resort to using these disconnected phone numbers to bypass the caller id.  Being on the do not call list won't stop these calls because they are not what we commonly refer to as "telemarketers".  These are scam calls trying to get your money or personal information,.  Best advice don't answer a call from any caller id number that you don't recognize.  If it is a legitimate call they will leave a message for you.  These scam calls never leave a message. If you answer and they give you a hard time you just get more aggravated than if you don't answer at all.

This appears to be a SCAM...
The phone number looks like a VOIP number (internet based phone number) which are currently not traceable.

They are trying to get you to give up VALUABLE INFORMATION (your credit card info)

It is doubtful that a "REAL" telemarketer would be rude or hang up on you when you tell them you are on the DNC Registry or you ask to be put on their DO NOT Call List.  Most genuine telemarketers want to know if you are on the DNC, which allows them to avoid calling you for two reasons... (1) It's against the law. (2) It's a waste of their time to call people who don't want to be called.

Scammers on the other hand don't care about the DNC Registry and don't even check it, they just use automatic dialers that call random numbers until they get a live human.  Since their internet based phone numbers can not be traced, they have nothing to loose by calling someone on the DNC list or by being rude or hanging up on you. So, if you're not giving them what they want, you're wasting their time and they'd rather find someone else to steal from.

It's a shame they haven't been shut down yet. I am on the dnc list and have also filed many many complaints at www.donotcall.gov. Have even notified the FTC(877-382-4357) about these scams. FTC told me to call my state AG, which I did. The FTC said to keep a record of calls-date,time,etc. The office of the AG said to just check caller ID and never answer them, maybe after 2 weeks of no answer they will quite calling. Yeah right. I have been getting this crap for 8 weeks now, amounting to over 20+ calls every 2 weeks. I'm ready to drive somewhere and blow up a building just to have them stop these scams. But I would face a harsher penalty than they. Seems the scammers have more rights than honest, hard working people now a days. Any one else fed up to you know where with this crap? The area code and prefix changes but the last 4 digits seem to be always the same . Coincidental ??????? NOT

Same thing.  I pressed 9. A live operator came on. I insisted on knowing what credit card he was referring to and he proceeded to verbally harrass me with unacceptable questions and comments. I demanded I be removed from the calling list and he just continued with perverted remarks.  This is so unacceptable. I would take legal action if I could!

Just got a call from this number.  It's a recording for lowering interest on my "credit card".  Of course they don't specify a company.  I don't know if they are trying to run a scam or just being annoying for the sake of ruining someone's day...

I received a call from this number 1-407-000-3131 (Scam).  Chose not to press #9 as I did not feel the call was a legitimate call.  I have *60 on my phone which 'blocks' numbers I do not wish to receive. It could by called "call rejection' in some areas.  My *60 takes me through steps to block numbers from my phone line.  So far it's worked wonderfully.  The automated voice connected with *60 allows you to hear the numbers you've got stored in your system you've blocked. If you want them to stay 'blocked' or choose to erase them you can.  I've added this number to my block list.  I am no longer plagued by the caller.  Call blocking is a feature your local telephone service should have available to you.  It may cost a small fee. It's worth it to me.  It should be in a telephone bundle service.   I would contact your local phone service and inquire.  The 'Do Not Call' list may or may not address your concerns as it hasn't been much help to me.   *60 in my area did the trick.  It's an investment I extremely appreciate. Good luck....*60 really works for me. I'm glad I have the option. Try it!

This is a scam. These are low life jackals preying on the innocent to steal their personal information and identities. Former associates are zeroing in on their location as you read this. They will be stopped. Make certain to press "1" and speak with a representative and thank them for the $2,500 that the attorney general of your state will collect on your behalf for violation of the Federal and State Do Not Call Registries.

When I pushed 9, I got a live operator (might as well eat up there phone minutes).  I asked them for their company name and they gave me a phony company, laugh at me, and hung up.

If you have Verizon, you can call their Unlawful Call Center at (800) 257-2969 and report the number on your caller id.

So far, the phone company told me I'd have to *57 the number if the harassment continues and the police department will get involved to pursue and arrest the harassers.
