This number appeared on my cell phone screen, I did not recognize it and did not answer the call.

This # called, was told it was about my credit card account and lowering my interest rate.  1) I've had this phone # for a year and a half and go not give it out to ANYONE.  2) I don't have any credit cards.  So is this some half a** with ancient info looking for someone who had this phone number ages ago or is it a SCAM?!?  I've seen a few comments elsewhere from today about this same number and it being a scam.  I pressed 9 to accept their offer, it rang about a dozen times, and some PFY (pimply faced youth) anwered.  Told him to remove my number from his system.  Little TURD hung up on me.

Received a phone call asking me to hit #9 to get a lower interest rate on my visa & mastercard. I don't own both cards and when I told the caller this he tried pushing me for which card I actually had. Stated he was closing my accounts out for delinquency (altho I do not have any deliquent accts). Went on to say he was pulling $500.00 out of my checking account as we spoke. When I told him I would report him he told me I didn't have a phone # for him anyway. Called me a b***h and hung up on me. To answer the guy's question above, I don't think this is a half a** looking for someone else who used to have the same ph # you have now. I think it's a total a** failing at a scam.

Received a recorded phone call 6:39pm PDT 12/9/09 from a women saying her name was "Sarah" asking me to hit #9 to get a lower interest rate on my visa & master card. I don't own either card. I pressed #9 and got some fast talking live guy that said "Oh you must be waiting to hear about the low interest rate we have for you!", as he was saying this I told him "I want my phone number removed!" and was abruptly hangup on, and I'm on the do not call list, this is for sure some type of scam.

I have received a few calls from this number for reducing my credit card rate.  I figured it was a scam the first time so I pressed the option 9 to speak with someone to reduce rate but I was really going to talk to them until I found out who they were and then turn them in.  Whenever I press 9 it hangs up.  I am also on the do not call registry.  If your number doesn't take blocked calls I have heard of people entering random numbers to get through and that is what shows up on your caller ID.  I don't know how that works or if this is what they are doing.  I am calling my phone company right now and reporting to the do not call registry.  They have to be able to figure out it is somehow.

gOT A CALL FROM IT.  nOT KNOWING THEM, DIDN'T ANSWER...  aNYBODY KNOW WHO THEY ARE?

Same deal, pressed 9 to speak with a person, said yes I'm calling about your offer and no I'm not interested, they promptly hung up and I was unable to call phony number back.

Somebody please help they wont stop calling and i told them we are on a do not call list so she asked what my federal ID number was . I told this rude witch the do not call list did not issue me one which they did not and she hung up on me. What they are doing is illegal please someone help. I called the number back and it was out of service.

They just called my cell. I am on the national do not call list and I do not have a credit card. I pressed 9 to speak with a customer service rep.. I let them know that I was not a card holder and am on the do not call list. I was promptly hung up on. I tried calling the number back and it was not a working number.

Call on cell phone not answered and no voice mail message left.   This is a marketing call I'm sure of it and I am on the do not call list...ARG!

its a scam - there is nothing they can do to reduce your credit card rates They charge major UPFRONT fees to make the same calls to your creditors you can make yourself for free.  

If you cannot get a reduced rate - they can't get it for you either.  

because they are a scam - they hang up on you when you tell them to stop calling.  they don't care they are breaking do not call laws and should not be calling in the first place.

Same with the Car Warranty scam calls -

I received a call from this number and waited for someone to answer and asked to be removed and was hung up on. I can not figure out what company they are or how to get a hold of someone.

I keep getting calls from this number about lowering my credit card debit. I've asked them repeatedly to take me off of their call list. They called today and I politely asked them again to take me off their call list. I got hung up on. Now I'm done being polite....
