My caller ID said "Not in use"!
But I got the same spiel by a man.
When I didn't answer his second question if I was the business owner he hung up on me...

SPAM! ROBO-CALL.   "MAY I SPEAK TO THE OWNER?"  Just hang up and report them here. It's a telemarketer.

Got the same call from "Kate" multiple times. Made my way past "Kate" and spoke to someone. They told me they would handle it. Nope! So I did a little leg work and found some names and numbers. I won't do that to the guy but here's the email. steve@elitemerchantgroup.com. Happy hunting!

Elite Bank unwanted call. Used the voice computer. If anyone knows how to stop this please post.

Same phone number just called our business this morning. Caller said his name was Ben Harrell and asked for the business owner, then silence.... I just googled the phone number and found these posts.

Very much telemarketing phone call asking for the owner and making it sound very official banking issue.  Seems to be computer generated response and when you ask questions, they disconnect.  I try calling back with above phone number and only a busy signal is available.  

I get the same call daily.  They call and ask for the owner and when I ask if somebody else can help (because the owner isn't available) they hang up.  This has been going on for months.

I keep getting calls from this number and they dont ever say anytihng and if I call the number back it says it is an inactive number.

We keep getting calls from this number.  The called id says Not in Use!  But no one responds when I pick up and say hello.  What's the purpose?

This number has called twice in the last 10 minutes. It says "NOT IN USE" and no one answers the line. I am sick of this, it's a waste of time.

Has called our business 2 or 3 times.  Comes up on caller id as 'not in use'.  I just hit the speaker button twice really fast that way it answers and disconnects immediately.  After all, why should I say anything if it is not in use.

Called the 1-877-332-8040. phone number after having the automated call. I got to customer service and told them to pull my number; hopefully that will be the end of that.

this was "Kate Allen", calling to speak to owner. She acted like a robo until I spoke over her; she stopped long enough to hear I'm an owner and on do not call....click. hanging up before the warning is complete doesn't exempt you from being reported!

They can be protected by local laws all they want. Local laws will only protect them locally. Out of state phone calls aren't exactly local.

Received a call today. The lady said hello about three times before she realized I answered the phone. She asked for the owner of the business, I said they were not here and she immediately hung up. Never introduced herself or gave a reason as to why she was calling. I tried to call back (just to be a smartass and do the same thing to her) and a recording told me the number was not in service.

Got the " not in use " caller ID..  What can these jack***es really hope to gain by repeatedly calling after you ask them to stop ?   I refuse to buy anything from anyone that calls my business unless I have a business relationship where I sought out their product or services ... Do these people really think that once you tell them NO, that they can wear a person down and sell or scam them ??  

Watch-Out, most all of these scum bags from Texas and Florida doing this are protected bye local laws, this has become good business for these loosers

"Hi, this is Kate from Elite Bank.  May I speak to the owner?"  click, click...hangup.  For those who get these calls on their cell phones, just save number as CRAP so if you're called again, you already know not to answer. (I save ALL robocalls as CRAP and save myself a ton of trouble.)

Are you sick of this too?  Is there some program or mechanism that would allow an individual to swamp their phone number with calls???  The government will do nothing... unless there is fine money or some political dirty-trick gains to be made for them. So it's up to vigilante action...hahaha. Can their lines be paralyzed by some action that is legal and cost effective?

Did not answer and they did not leave a message.
