Received 1342 calls from this number today.  They have a recorded message that starts up by saying "Don't hang up..." then say they are calling FPL, Progress Energy, and OUC customers to perform an energy usage survey on your residence so you can take advantage of federal tax credits, etc.  When you opt to speak to a person, they want to set up an appointment to visit your residence and both spouses must be present.  They claim they are not selling anything but what else could it be.  I contacted Progress energy and they do not have other companies perform this service for them.  The callers say they are with the Natural Resource Coalition but I can't find any website with that name.  If you ask too many questions they just hang up.  We have a large system and they have been calling into our numbers for two days now, calling from various numbers.

Same as previous report.  They have called us repeatedly.  It has been reported to the Seminole County Sheriffs Department.  The company does not exist-have checked Sunbiz for legitimate Florida businesses.

Ken,
Just wondering what Seminole County Sheriffs said about this issue.  We are in Orange County.

I too received a FREE Energy Evaluation phone call.  When you speak to someone to set up an appointment, you are given a confirmation number.  When I questioned how they received all my information, it was stated that it's a nation wide program to help inform residents to take advantage of stimulus money (up to $3,700 per household).  I requested information to be emailed me for review and was told they would only be in our area for a few days; that it was a nationwide evaluation they are conducting to help people conserve energy.  When questioned who is paying for them to conduct these free evaluations, I was informed that it was Natural Resources Coalition.  Upon further research, I did not find a company of this name.
Then, you are transferred to someone who verifies the time and date for the evaluation.  When I questioned him, I was hung up on.
phone number that called me was 772-240-6615.  When I returned the call, a voice message stating the voice mail box was full and to call again later.  I am referring them to the BBB and FPL.

Yup, got a bunch of these over the last couple of months.  Today I just booked an appointment for them to come to a bogus adr.  She said "Our drivers travel up to an hour to get to the appointment".  I asked, how do I get a hold of you in case something comes up?  She didn't have a number, guess I won't be there!

If everyone would just start booking an appointment with a fake address they'd be out of business.

I too just booked an appointment for tomorrow-22 Mar 2011.  This was the 5thy time they have called, so now I will waste their time.

Hitting the 5 key does NOT remove you from their list.  The person talking has a set of pre-defined responses depending on the question.

So, whenever they call now, I will give them bogus info.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO DO THIS.

Just remember that you need to give them a REAL street and make the numbers close to a real number.
The one I gave is a non existent  between my house and the neighbors house.
I might even take pics/video .
