Sick and tired of this number phoning! They leave no message and don't answer the phone when I call back.

They first called me and left message as debt collector, but that was the only words I could understand.  Everything else is jumbled and not once state my name or any name.  Then I got calls with hang ups on the voice mail.  Now I just get the calls and no voice mail.  I haven't lived in Florida in years, I just happen to still have a Florida cell phone number.  Ughhh, would someone please shut these people down.

I keep getting calls from 407-242-7687 in reference to bank/check fraud, and gives a number to call 202-803-5785. Been getting these calls for a month now. I know its a scam operation from a debt collector, but I thought that was illegal behavior, and otherwise unlawful? What can I do about this? This is domestic terrorism...Where's my government?

The phone company can't do anything about it, and was told I have to hire a lawyer...Really?

received this call about check fraud, at: 202-803-5785. Checked this number out of the district of Columbia, and is part of an automated calling system. It has several numbers and the same computer-generated voice giving semi-legal threats. The last one said I had a restraining order against me and that I had 4 hours to call them, or would be arrested, and so forth. Yes, this is a scam, but it cannot be traced directly, as it has a rerouting system on it. These systems can be used by military and federal folks, but of course, that means anyone can get one. These systems work with computers too, which is why there is so much crime in the US today. In short, only the government can do something about this, and as that is not likely to happen (unless it happens to them), we will continue getting these calls. Remember, if you are going to have an official legal complaint lodged against you, they will find you...No stupid phone calls via recordings. Officer Friendly will simply knock on your door.

The sad thing is, is that even though this government reads our emails, listens to our phone calls and knows what we had for lunch, you'd think they would find these A-holes and shut them down.

I get calls from this number on my cell phone at least three times a day.  I don't answer but I'd love to stop the calls. Does anyone know how to block calls from an LG Tracfone?

can you check whos this because they leave a message but when you hear the message is silent but noise in the background I block this phone

Calling continues into 2013 - end of may.  Note how many in may. Policy - do not answer calls from unknown numbers.  Let them leave a msg.  You choose to return calls.  BTW turn OFF your GPS tracking in your phone.  If this # has GPS it can be tracked.  Go to EHOW "How to turn off GPS in cell phone".

Had 37 calls from this #. No message - no VM.  This time they left a message.  Sounds like a lot of scuffling around and someone in background saying something like "that's my cell.  Then 5 minutes later, called again and I answered and they asked me who I was and I said who[s calling -- then they said they had the wrong #.  this call was at 3:00 a.m. Sounds to me they wanted me to wonder what is wrong and then they would call back with something like (someone in family needs help or money) and then they call back trying to find out my name so that they can call me later with some scam about that person needing money.  Heard of that SCAM before.  The one night later, we got call again from different # but looks like same location == but this time my husband answered and they said they had the wrong #.  This was at mmidnight.  I;m having to call my cell provider and get a block on those #;s.

I had 5 calls on my cell phone from this number today.  One yesterday and one each day, 2 days before that.  This company or person waits for my voice mail to answer then hangs up without a message.

Left a VM on my Cell. I didn't open the mail as the number looked like a scam number I've seen before.

Those people, sound like an Indian guy is telling my husband that he owe a debt and that he will be arrested and that he will lose his job...I just hope those people get out of business and that they are not allowed anymore to do such things to people....

An elderly man left a message for Stewart asking if he had picked up his Rx because when he tried to pick it up it wasn't there. He needs his meds and does Stewart have them in his pocket. Sounds important and something that I would usually respond to and let them know they dialed the wrong number but since I have been receiving weird messages from a different number lately, I did not respond. The other number also uses the name Stewart or Stu...

Either they are randomly calling (most likely), or, unwittingly, you gave it to them, directly or indirectly.

Never share your cell phone number.  Any entity you give it to is likely to pass it on to the commercial database companies.  Instead, get a free Google Voice number, and set it up to forward to your cell phone.  That way, when you need to give a "cell number" to the doctor's office, car dealer's repair shop, bank, etc., you give them the Google number instead.  If it gets spammed, you can set it to filter those calls out.  In fact, if it is a known spammer, they will filter it automatically for you.

How are they able to get cell phone numbers, who are these people?

Just got a call from this number (407 242 7687) for the first time. It left an incomplete message (female voice).  I did not call back based on what I read on this site. Probably not a good idea to call back.  Have also been dealing with the 800 553 2641 (also have read posts on this as well) number for the last couple of weeks.

It's not just ATT, but tracphones, too.

These unwelcome calls show up on my new cellphone. Don't know why nor how but
suspect my phone is being used for some illegal purpose. I would like it to be discontinued.

This caller calls me on my cell phone randomly and leaves an inaudible message.  They never identify themselves.

I keep getting calls from this number.  It shows up on my voicemail but there is never a message.  Frustrating and annoying!
