we have got several calls a day, every day, for the past 2 weeks from this number. Usually there is breathing on other end if we answer. when the machine picks up, they never leave a message. last night they called 3 times in a row. how do we get them to stop calling? based on entries on other websites, this is a bogus collection agency.

We have received several calls. They have only left a message once- they are looking for the lady who used to have our phone number from 5 years ago. Bogus or not- they have been told twice now that they have the wrong number.

Lady with an accent calls for my elderly aunt saying it is a persoal matter that she needs her permission on. When I asked the name of the company she said it ws OCWEN. when I asked other questions she hung up. When I called the number back it was disconnected. We get calls several times per day.

it calls me and then says all operators are busy please hold, and it is calling my cell phone. I now put these numbers in my address book with a note when it comes up I dont answer but it is still irritating because it comes in, however, verizon told me to change the signal to no ringer on these calls.

Is it possible that these calls are indeed made by businesses that are engaged in selling reverse call memberships to to people like me. You click on the "who owns this number" and it takes you to a reverse calling business and when you enter the number, you either join up for x amount of dollars, or don't get a trace.

Why post a comment? Can anyone do any thing about these calls? I've had dozens from this number. Also 888-634-8908, 407-389-1070, and 407-441-7826. This has been going on for a couple of months.

According to the net this number is listed as a cell phone number out of Orlando, Fla. They never leave voicemails, ever. Really getting tired of these calls. It doesn't make any difference what time of the night or day they call. I spoke to them one time. They said we own thousands of dollars. I told them they were full of _ _ _ _! I asked to speak to his supervisor or let me know when I can call back to talk to one. They hung up.

I too have received calls from this number. My cellphone has the option of adding it to a "reject number list"--currently, this might be the best solution. Hope it works!

I received a call from this number 5 minutes ago. They left a message on my cell phone with a toll free # of 1-866-218-3885. I called them back to inform them not to call my cell phone again. They SAID I will not get another call but we shall see. The guy sounds foreign, and talked really fast so I really could not understand where or who he is or the company he called from.

Got a recorded message asking to stay on the line while they assisted other customers. A woman got on the phone and asked to speak with Patricia Clark. She asked personal questions about the type of phone and how long we had it that I would not answer.

I also have been been getting these phone calls not on one cell phone but on two of my cell phone what the heck but if anyone can find out who this is I am sure like find out.

Back again....
I just finished reading all of the charges against OCWEN Loan Servicing. This company is fraudulent. They take a payment and post it a week later and then assess a heavy late fee. People have lost their homes, etc. I think it is a safe bet to say that if you have to do business with them for any reason, you better secure the services of an attorney so that you can counter sue. It would be well worth the money.
Information concerning this group can be found at: http://www.ripoffreport.com/
Put OCWEN Loan in the search box. What you will read is unbelievable and the fact that they have gotten by with it this long is irreprehensible. I can not understand why some of the folks I just read about did not secure an attorney. They were down right swindled from their homes. One post suggests that they are linked with Lending Tree.com and are possibly going out of business due to their unreturned phone calls and downtime of their website. I can not verify, but after you read about them – you can be the judge.
Hope this helps someone out there that is feeling threatened and helpless.

Got my first call on my cell phone from this number today with the 'someone at this number return my call' message.
What I want to know is -- if they are, at some level, a real debt collection company -- who would sell their uncollected accounts to a company this sleazy ?
| Shelli 2011-06-06 20:48:03 Unknown |
I talked to these people and they wanted my social security number to verify why they were calling. I would not give it and asked to talk to 2nd tier management. This is a scam I called the non=emergency line in Austin, Texas and I now have a case # against them. Case # 07-506305. Please call your non-emergency line to report this. I fear if my grandparents get a call they might give out their SSN.

this number calls my house at least once a day. I let my answering machine pick up and they don't leave any message.

Am getting calls from AZLE TX, Phone number 817-444-5194. When I return the call it comes up as DISCONNECTED. They are calling my cell number. I have ATT Wireless and it doesn't offer call blocking. Who can I contact to put an end to these calls?
| Lulu in Florida 2008-02-05 14:56:00 Debt Collector |
I've finally figured this one out. The excuse for these calls is usually a long-ago, fictitious "debt". This is to get around the "DO NOT CALL" law, which DOES allow calls from debt collectors. When you tell them that (a) you aren't the person they're looking for, or (b) you don't owe that money, they then ask you to "verify" your name, Social Security number, address and in some cases, your bank account number! So the REAL GOAL OF THESE CALLS IS TO STEAL YOUR IDENTITY. This is evidently a nation-wide, ongoing scam. Report it to your telephone company, the FTC, the Do Not Call Registry (if you're on that list) and your state's Attorney General. These thieves identify themselves as agents of OCWEN. Whether that's true or not is unknown.
