Who is this from?

These SCAMSTERS called me when I inquired about them not registered in the state of Florida to do business, he replied we will register in a week or two. People do not let strangers in your house especially when they are from unregistered company. Do not give them any information.

I am being harrassed by these people. They kept calling me and I asked them to put me on their DO NOT CALL LIST. I stopped getting calls for about 2 weeks and now they are at it again. It's Wednesday and I've already gotten two calls this week. Once they explain who they are, I just hang up. How do I get them to stop? I think it's a total scam and they are looking to take advantage of people.

These scammers keep calling me from cell phones561--827-8672
The caller id says cell phone-what a scam they have no real phone lines or office and they are obnoxious-they call me 3 times a week, they dont give up. This should be illegal.

I instructed the caller to put me on the company's Do Not Call list. She hung up on me, but they have not called back.
This is not the same as the national do not call list. Even a non-profit or political organization must maintain their own DNC list and put you on it if you request. If they continue to call after that happens, you can go after them.

I know it is a bit of a pain but probably the most effective thing that we as consumers can do is waste their time and money and string them along as much as possible and make their costs skyrocket.
It will likely take the Attorney General a while to catch up.. It's coming.

I just got a call from the same company and asked the same questions with no acceptable information provided. They have been calling me everyday from the phone number 561-246-2949 indicating "unknown" as the caller. I thought perhaps it was the cell number of a contractor I am using but found out very quickly it was not. I asked about what kind of services the technician will provide since my electric bill is only $220/month for a large home. I also was unable to get a call-back number. When asked where they were located she said Orlando but wouldn't specify where. I asked who was funding them and she said they are funded by all the energy companies nationwide because they want to decrease our dependency on foreign oil. I agree, I think this is a bogus company and despite the fact that they say they are not selling anything I think they are. It's all too weird. I want them to stop calling me and have told them that I am on the anti-solicitation list but that doesn't seem to matter either. Who do we contact to get them to stop????

I am a stay at home mom and I am fed up with there phone calls. I have asked many times for them to stop calling. They told me if I have the energy survey done that they will stop calling me. Isn't that harassment? They also told me since they are not selling me something that they are not telemarketers so they can keep me on there list !!!

I too, just recieved a call today from them and asked for the appropriate information (for any organization, company or LLC.) they were unable to provide me with any information. She also insisted that Energy Consultants of America, was a small company an with only the ability to do out bound phone calls. Does not sound legit.

Yes, my wife got a call and told them to call back to speak with me. So, I finally picked up today and it was someone with the Energy Consultants of America.
He already has my phone # and address so it wasn't a complete "cold" call... However, I wasn't really impressed with the quality of his speech nor the laughing and cracking up in the background of where he was calling from. I told them I'm busy and to call back in a week.
I don't want strangers in my house scouting out my household, family, etc. It's a crazy world out there right now and I don't want to take changes.
Claimed that the "Clean Energy Act" could give me $3,800 from stimulus money... Hey don't stop by, just send a check, thank you!

yep! my wife got a call from them last night, august 21.
she asked for website, call back #, anything before she let a stranger into the house
and the rep (megan) just kept talking...
we've received at least 25 of these calls in the past month!
I add each number to our call block list...so, they have at least 25 numbers they call from!
good luck everyone!

This is the number that the girl called from regarding the message below. My research shows that it is an unpublished number.
Received a call on 08/18/2010 from somebody who identified himself as STEVEN. Set an appointment to evaluate how much electricity they could help me save and offering $3800 from the stimulus money.
They set an appointment to see me at 5:00 pm today, 08/19/2010.
NO SHOW
At 5:24 received call from some girl from Energy Consultants of America, stating that the technician had been involved in a "terrible car accident". I responded that they were a bogus/fake and asked for their web site for me to look them up. She contended that they were a small organization and did not have the money to have a web site up.
I replied that the reason there was no website was that they were fake and probably up to "no-good". At this she hung up.
I am now going to "freeze" my credit.
Caller: Energy Consultants of America
