This technique is called fishing, once the card number is obtained  they use it to do a small purchase to test the account has funds. If the test turns out successful the fraudster goes to town on your expense.

I´ve already given them my card # and pin for but if any money comes up missing off my card ,i will  personally throw who ever is is thats pulling this scam under the bus ,and i'll sue them and or who evr it is behind this for FRAUD and identity thef i guarantee it ,thats a promise

well personally i could give a rats a** what any scam artist scumbag attempts to take from me because i don't have anything to take! Another point i'd like to share with others is that these types of crimes were happening in lots of other countries around the world long before we began to see even a percentage of what is coming to us. The answer isn't hard to find out there is absolutely no balance on the earth that we ALL share a part of, if the planet has no balance then there wont be a planet and therefore no people either. so maybe instead of only some people having too much money to waste on material things that won't do anything but distract you from life and not care when you die maybe consider using money to create money for those who don't have enough money to feed their families. GREED comes from MONEY and money cant buy you everything it can make you think you are when really you aren't and when you try to be it will be too late. sad truth.so get real.

I got a text from these people and I called the number back and said my debit card was restricited to enter debit card and I entered

I work for the fraud devision at a bank and I specialize in these types of scams...I immediately recognized it for what it was...I actually recieved a text with nothing but a link to click on cacat@nuvox.net...so I jumped right online just to see if it had been reported yet and sure as sh$t here all you are! This stuff pisses me off! Just glad I had the knowledge to know better than to click the link...I think it's important to keep all our loved ones as informed as possible and anyone else that will listen for that matter!

I'm with Cricket and just got that txt this morning.... I did not call, at about the same time I got a txt to email Lottery winners as I was going to receive a 1.5 million pound donation... hmmmmm

I got this text as well. I didn't call though.  I am a Verizon home  customer . They had to have sold our numbers . I smell class action !

I have cricket and got the same text message.

I want no more calls from this number. Obvious scammers and they need to be arrested for FRAUD.

I got a text last night too. Why oh why won't these fools leave us all alone and find a legit way to make money? Haven't they ever heard of KARMA???

I am also a Verizon customer, I got this text three times now did not call or respond to it not sure who they are and what they want i don't answer calls or text from any number i don't know.  I find it quite fishy that most of us are Verizon customers how did these people get our number?

I am not a Verizon user. I have a cricket phone and the number was texted to my phone as well. It did also tell me to enter my debit card number because I met my limit. In so glade I looked it up first because I was about to reach for my purse. Smh. It's so sad that people go thru all thus just to steal from you.

got a text from this # and my mom did at the same time. i called it said enter your debit card number. i entered bs digits and it said the number was invalid.  obvious scam

I'm not Verizon and I just received that text. Then after Googling it my husband received the same text and we don't have our numbers under the same account. Very strange

got a text fromcacat@nuvox.net to call 407-392-0232. I just keep texting back. i figure that i'll draw them in, eventually call the number, and if they ask for debit info, turn it over to the feds.  you're supposed to report scams asking for bank info...
