I am in PA and received this text. 512743@vtext.com
call 14073920234
I didn't call but I don't know how they got my number.
shirley 2012-10-23 22:51:06 Unknown
been getting the same vtext message, first I got one that says 512743@vtext.com: attention required. call 5129297005, then within a few minutes, I received: attention required. call 14072920234. I agree it seems like some type of scam.
Steve, it's interesting one of the apps you mentioned was Viggle. I just downloaded that this morning and now am getting these suspicious texts. I wonder if Viggle is the culprit.

Yeah I got the same thing, a call from (407) 392-0231 yesterday that showed up in my iPhone as Orlando, FL. Didn't think much of it but then today got the text from info@vtext.com that only said "Call: 4073920231". Seemed really strange then I noticed it was the number I got a call from yesterday. When I saw the "vtext" part, I thought maybe it had something to do with Verizon Wireless which is my cell phone carrier so I google searched info@vtext.com and reached this page. I agree with everyone here, this is total bs and I only hope nobody has been tricked into giving these vulchers any information. I rarely post anything to online message boards like this but after reading these posts from the last few days I thought my experience might be relevant. So again, this is without a doubt 100% bullsh*t and a SCAM. I have also been getting emails from Twitter saying my password had been reset because they feel my account may have been compromised. I just wish I knew how my number got involved. I recently starting using apps like Shopkick, Checkpoints, AppTrailers, AppRedeem, appCasher, and Viggle. I wonder if anyone else who has posted on here had used any of the same. But I hope this is stopped soon by somebody, until then just be very cautious where you post your personal information.

It is a scam... I called BOA. The rep stated this is
under investigation and to call your wireless carrier because
someone hacked into our personal info for Verizon, Sprint and AT&T& customers.
For Verizon customers, you can call and have the numbers blocked, but you will have to
call each time because the text message numbers change. You can also subscribe to
blocking numbers through Verizon but for a fee of course.

I got the same text 832370@vtext.com. It is a scam
I don't have a Bank of America account!!!
Charlene 2012-10-17 16:35:49 Unknown
I got this same message last night on my cell phone. I actually punched one a couple of times in answer to their questions to try and find out what it was all about. Then they asked for my account number and I hung up. I reported it to abuse@bankofamerica.com. They will investigate it. I hope I haven't caused myself any trouble by punching the one twice in answer to their questions.

Third call from 407-392-4072 in the past couple of weeks. Supposedly from BOA. I called BOA and they said it was a scam and they're working on it. Verizon couldn't do anything to trace it. Supposedly from 832405@vtext.com
dano 2012-10-17 03:18:09 Unknown
i just got the message, you would think the phone companies can do something to block therse
Verizon customer 2012-10-17 01:42:53 Unknown
Got the same message. Talked to Verizon. If you are a Verizon customer forward these texts to 7726. Verizon will then send you a text to ask the origination number, send it to them. They are working on it.
WoodrowsMom 2012-10-17 01:30:22 Unknown
In Central Texas...they must be running their scam from South to North. Haven't been a BofA customer in many years.
Heather 2012-10-17 00:32:33 Unknown
I have been getting these texts all week. I have Verizon and also live in TX.

Sorry, BoA. No card with you. You will have to find a sucker somewhere else. Besides I am waiting for Mr. Zembledumb to send me my money from Indonesia where I won the lottery. He is sending me the money as soon as I send him my bank number. I know it is real because I googled it. Maybe they can direct deposit the money to BoA.

Got the same message "Urgent attention requested. Call 407.392.4072" from 832370@vtext.com. I guessed it to be a scam. Wife got same message, multiple times at the same time I did. We assumed it was Verizon initially but they usually have the Verizon name on their messages. Appears to have been a scam attempt. Thanks for reporting!
