By now, everyone should have figured out that the FTC
DO NOT CALL LIST [so-called] IS JUST A BIG JOKE.
However, everyone should keep filing their complaints,
and to keep their own respective log regarding same.
Here is an example of my own personal log-book, which
is very easily and simply kept by using "TEXT:"

"CARD SERVICES"
DID NOT ANSWER.
IT WILL MOST CERTAINLY BE ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE ROBO-CALLS,
TRYING TO SCAM ME ON REDUCING THE INTEREST ON MY CREDIT CARDS,
WHEN I DON'T EVEN HAVE ANY CREDIT CARDS.
[HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS CALLS FROM "CARD SERVICES"]

I keep a separate TEXT FILE named for each and every
number I receive these damned calls from, and then to
just add to it, most recent call at the top.
Nothing is going to happen on this, unless "EVERYONE"
continually bombards the FBI, your CONGRESSMAN,
your LOCAL TV NEWS, any and all NEWSPAPERS, etc.
I have been doing this myself, but will not continue to
be the only one doing it. Strongly suspect that at least
the FBI has now "black-balled" my email name. Either
that, or they simply responnd as "NOT READ," just as my
Congresswoman; Kay Granger of Texas has also done.
Here is her email address: kay@kaygranger.com
[please find yours as well?]
Below will be a list of all of the FBI Field Offices email
addressess, as well as USDHS, that I have found to be
vaild, in such a manner that should make it easy for one
to simply "COPY" and "PASTE" them into your email.
You might want to reference: Title 47 U.S. Code ~223
NOTE: Suggest you make your emails ?PRIORITY,? and
===== ?READ RECEIPT REQUESTED.?

This number calls every year and it is a continuous fight, as soon
as you tell them to stop calling, they pop the phone down in your
face.
I do not give to anyone, no charities, no telemarketers, as I pay
my hard earned money for this overpriced land line service and
it should only be for my use, not for every idiot in the U. S. to
harrass me, at my age.
I am calling the FLORIDA highway patrol and see if they have
instigated these calls.
the letters "wcs" shows up as to who is calling.

Go to the site called "trap call". Look at the various packages of which all will identify blocked calls, and/or translate phony numbers -- IF they don't know the name of the caller it will show the location which is a KEY TO ME that it is a collector! I pay 10 dollars a month, and bounce all of my home number calls to my cell and then have the cell listed with Trap Call, that way all of my telephones get the advantage of the site.

call and a hang up. that's it.

I too was called by this number: 407-476-0025; but I never answered the phone!
I have a standard rule: If someone comes to the front door and I do not recognize them, I DON'T answer the door.....period.
I have "Caller ID" on my phone. AGAIN....the rule is the same.....if I pick up the phone and I do not recognize the caller, I DON'T answer the phone......period.
I do not understand why seemingly intellIgent people do not follow this rule. The world would be a safer place if more people would just NOT answer their door or phone......if they do not know who it is? I thought this was common sense. HELLO??

I have been receiving calls from various telephone numbers from solicitors claiming to be from various Police Agencies.Tthe first call came up on the CID as the FOP (Fraternal Order of Police). I solved that problem by picking up the phone and hanging up immediately. A couple of day later I received a call from a different number where the caller identified himself as collecting for the State Police. I told the caller that I do not donate to telephone solicitors and hung up. I just received a call a few minutes ago from the above number. When I answer they hung up immediately. They are trying to reach my wife who made the mistake of making a small donation several years ago. Call is actually from a solicitation company that fraudulently represents themselves as the organization they are collecting for. As described on one of the TV News Magazines these solicitors keep up to 90% of the proceeds from the donations that they collect. The best answer is that "I do not donate to telephone solicitors."

Just got the call, tried to look it up and all it says is landline, Orlando. I am on the do not call list and if I get a human on the phone, they will get a piece of my mind. 12/21/11

Received a phone call from this number and they say could you hold a minute and then it goes to a busy signal. Won't answer this call again

Called at 8:08pm on 12/14/11. The caller ID showed the phone number as the caller name. Didn't leave an answer on my answering machine. Seems like another now common bogus "cop charity" scam. I put the number on my call management "block list" so they can't call again.

Call blocking phones are WONDERFUL. They can never ring through so I'm never bothered by them. At the end of the day (or month or week or year) I just delete them!

Funny how when women answer there is silence, but for most of the men they are asked to wait.

The money you donate to any public employee group will more than likely be used to fund their lobbying efforts at the state and national level. You may or may not be in support of their political agenda.
Remember, if you are told it will be used to fund some charities that the cops/firefighters/whomever support then it should be THAT [registered] charity who is doing the solicitation and not the union who represents the workers.

Paid fund raiser soliciting to benefit Florida Highway Patrol.
Don't give these jokers the time of day.
"Using third-party telemarketers could mean these charities are spending too much getting your dollar rather than giving it to those in need, Weiner said. State records filed in 2007 show fundraising accounted for 69 percent of the state troopers association's expenses and 93 percent of the command officer group's spending. Independent analysts recommend most responsible charities spend no more than 35 percent on fundraising."

You are absolutely right, I am a State Trooper in Florida, and we don't see anything from them. A lot of them are scammers and will send you a cheap sticker, but they aren't even associated with us. This coming from a law enforcement officer...NEVER give any donations over the phone, it is a SCAM!!
| uboat435 2011-11-05 01:22:36 Non-profit Organization |
The call was from a state trooper for money. I have a standard reply for police requests.
" I really support the Police and will be glad to donate. Please send the police Patrol car to my home and I will give them a donation. " Then hang up.
Do you get the calls for donations and they call you by name when you answer and ask "How are you?"
Be real quick with this answer.
" I am fine and thank you for calling to check on us old folks " and hang up. Don't let them talk!!!!!!!!!!

They called me at 7:57 on October 24, 2011. My experience was the same as the others reported. Recorded voice says, "please hold," and then the line went dead. The next time they call, I won't bother to answer.
