Did the FTC do anything productive?

Our company rec'd. this same type call at 5:09 a.m. on Sunday 4/27 but from a different #.  The # on the ID indicated it was from NJ ( Wells Fargo ).  When I called the # on Monday morning, the lady assured me it had nothing to do with WF.  I'm wondering how someone hacked into WF's # and cloned it to caller ID, then got our # and for what purpose????????

I got a bunch of jokes, and I already reported to the ftc.

My voicemail provider managed to get this text out of the message:

"Tell you a joke or you can press the star key to end this call. Would you like to hear a-joe(?) Walsh concert costs only forty five cents. Come sit with fifty cent featuring Nickel Back. I can tell you and other joke or you can press the star key to end this call. Why did the scarecrow gets promoted because he was outstanding in his field(?) I can tell you and other joke or you can press the star key to end this call. If walls raining cats and dogs out there. I almost stepped in a poodle. I can tell you and other joke or you can press the star key to end this call. What is the Internet favorite animal building. I can tell you and other joke or you can press the star key to end this call. Why shouldn't you trust absence because they make up everything."

Received a REALLY long voicemail of a british automated voice telling jokes. Unlike the rest of you however, I appreciated the voicemail and thought it was hilarious. It made my day. :)

Received a voice message Same as TriciaN on a 5 minute voice mail retrieval. British computer voice telling jokes, did not say "no more jokes for today, maybe tomorrow" unfortunately, and took up the entire 5 minute message allotment with bad jokes and the "press the star key to end call" (which on voicemail is useless). Call was to a business and was made on a Saturday in the middle of the day. Weird and the jokes are beyond bad. They should be fined in excess of the maximum amount allowed for a Do Not Call contact, just for lack of clever puns.

Received a message from this number on Easter Sunday.  It was an automated voice, which left a voicemail with 8-10 corny one-liner jokes, after each joke the recording said "I can tell you another joke, or you can press the star key to end this call".  After the last joke it repeated "I can tell you another joke.." and then immediately said "no more jokes for today, maybe tomorrow."

Very weird, and also very different from the other comments about this number.

It's the only way the harassment will stop, and what they are doing is illegal.

Recd another call from "Drew Joseph" from this number. Extremely rude and pushy.  Called last week and I advised him he would not be put thru to an advisor unless he could tell me specifically what he was calling about. Then acted like he had never called before and told me I should write down names when I am taking calls. Of course he hangs up before I could tell him to put me on the DO NOT CALL list. Jerk.....

the dumbass just called.  i'm trading oil futures, and he's wanting me to look at some penny stock.

Call was transferred to me with the same individual asking about "stock advice" and wanted to speak with one of our reps. I told him we reserve stock info for clients only. He wasn't too happy about that response. ;-)

Called looking to speak with one of our brokers. Allan Boulnois (Who I looked up and found out was booked by Orange County Corrections on Jan. 05, 2012 for an out-of-state warrant. Got to love Google.) wouldn't leave a message or a number when I refused to let him through. Don't these guys realize that the individual on the other end of the phone may not be 'just some receptionist they think that they can talk over'? I don't need an ex-con harassing my employees for some bs.

I didn't recognize the number when he first started calling. Kept telling him "she (me) was out of the office" Keeps trying to call back. I might start keeping him on hold.

On the phone with one of the guys now, and have been for 5+ minutes.  I've said three words.  This young buck is working it.  Not sure how long I'm going to let him ramble.  Just put him on speaker phone.  He hasn't figured that out yet.

Very rude, pushy, wouldn't take a polite "not interested".

Called my work number (it's a law firm) and asked if I worked at a stock brokerage firm.

Didn't answer the phone and no message left.  Caller ID said "Winter Park, FL".

Called our business and was rude, pushy and dishonest.  Said he received a business card on our company without an individual's name on it.  We don't have business cards without names. When I asked about who referred him to our business he told me that it shouldn't matter.  Since the majority of our clients are through referral, he should have been pleased to provide us with the name. Nasty.

Only people associated with the company in question post fake reports like this.
