Prank Call
Seems to be a lot of shills here posting about how they were able to stop the calls, and how wonderful the experience was.  Seems to me they want to get you to call so they can confirm your number and sell your information to numerous other spammers.

Report the calls to the FEDERAL FTC "Do Not Call" violations site, and let this fake "Hilton" scam pay the price for their non-stop B.S.

Do what I do - if you have a 'hold' button on your phone, put them on hold & tell them you'll be right back.  Then see how long it takes them to catch on & hang up. Keeps them busy for awhile anyway.

I have been getting calls from this number on my main cell phone.  It's similar robo calls w different numbers.  If you call it, you supposedly can be deleted from their systems.

My question is, why is SPRINT selling my private cell numbers?  Can we sue?

Calls repeated and will not leave a message.  Most irritating.  I don't know how they got this number.  I will never stay at the Hilton again!  What a bunch of dipsticks!

We've gotten several calls from this number as well, but my caller ID shows Hilton and the number. I did a reverse number search and it shows up as a cell phone, with several addresses (Melbourne, Palm Bay) which I guess makes sense for time share people.

We did recently stay at a Homewood, and we're members of HHonors. Guess we got lucky.

I had this same issue last year.  I called them and asked for my number to be removed.  I haven't stayed at a Hilton hotel since (because I've not been traveling), but sure enough, here is summer 2008 and the calls have started again.  What the heck?!

It's Hilton Grand Vacations.  The company is not immediately associated with any Hilton hotels, but I believe if you have a Hilton HHonors account and did not opt out of offers, you are automatically added to the call list.

I've received this call a number of times - as others, I have not answered and they did not leave a message.
Following the instructions of another person who posted, I called and pressed "2" to have my number removed from the list. After pressing 2, it rang and I got a live person.
I thought "oh, no! They're going to give me some huge sales pitch before removing my name." To my pleasant surprise, there was no pitch, no nothing. I just said I wanted to remove my number, and the person did it quickly and professionally, with no hassle.
I would rather have not been called in the first place, but the removal process was quick and painless.

You may want to check with friends and family members.  If they have timeshares, they are always pushed to give up names and phone numbers and promised rewards.  I get the call quite often but never answer it.  My sister does own a timeshare through Hilton.  I gave Fairfield her number once, so I figure it's probably pay back :-)

I've been getting calls from this number frequently (3 or 4 times a month).  No message is ever left and I haven't answered b/c calls are usually when I am at work.  It's a Nextel cell number based out of Orlando, FL.  I called it back and got a recording about some vacation consultant business.  Unless you're interested in vacationing with them, don't answer.

I received a call from this number today (5-20-2008 at 4:26 EDST) on my home phone because I do not give out my cell number,  but I did not answer it and they did not leave a message.  I do not answer unknown calls.  This is the first time this year that this has happened.

This is Hilton Vacations marketing arm and they call because we have either stayed at one of their hotels or are members of their rewards club.

I called Hilton directly to get the skinny on this scam.  As I am a Diamond VIP with Hilton and they will pretty much do anything to make sure we VIPs stay happy I was able to get some more info.  Found out they do indeed have a vacation club headquartered in Orlando and they do actually have a call center.  I was unable to verify though if this number is legit.  I had my hilton operator remove me from the vacation club call list and hopefully this works.  I'd suggest you all call Hilton directly and complain to their customer service department.  Also, do not give up any personal information to this number (name, address, credit card, etc.) no matter how good the deal.  If it's too good to be true, then its not true.  I have a feeling this is a scam to fish for personal information to use for identity theft or what not.  Do not bite!!!  And if its not a scam, then plug up Hilton's phone lines and complain till they stop this nonsense (or boycott if you're into that).

Received a "missed call" on my mobile phone from 407 722 3515.  The call was after 9:oo PM AND on my mobile phone so I searched and found this discussion page.  I checked further and here's what I found, the action I took and what you can do as well.

The calls are from the Marketing/Sales call center at Hilton's Grand Vacation Club (time share, in plain English).  When you stay at any Hilton Hotel, your phone number is collected when you make a reservation.  Since we believe that the number is asked for in case a problem arises with our reservation, we usually give them our cell phone number.  Unfortunately, the numbers collected in this manner are shared with the Grand Vacation Club sales department - hence the late night sales calls to us on our cell phones.

Here is what I did.  There is no point complaining to the Grand Vacation Club people - they don't really care if you are pissed at them - they sell time shares - EVERYONE'S pissed at them.  It is not a violation of Do-Not-Call, since by staying at a Hilton, you have established a "relationship" with the same company that owns both the hotels and the time share company.  The people who DO CARE are the hotel owners and GM's - they dislike anything that may upset their guests.  The people who can best understand the concerns of the owners and get the message through to management (to stop the practice) are the Regional Quality Managers from Hilton.

I spoke to the General Manager of a local Hampton Inn and got the name and number of the Regional Quality guy from him.  I spoke to the Quality guy, at length and had him sign on to this site while we were on the phone together so he could get an idea of how upset Hilton guests were about the marketing calls.  He promised to bring it up at the next meeting he has with his management - the volume of complaints on this site are what impressed him the most.

I give it a 50% chance of changing Hilton's procedures on sharing guest personal information.

In the meanwhile, when making a reservation at any Hilton brand hotel, when the reservations agent asks for your number, give them 407 521 3100.  That, of course, is the number for Hilton Grand Vacation Club.  I suspect that once they start calling themselves enough, the practice will stop.

Good luck.

I got the same call.  When I pressed the pushy marketer for details on how I got on this call list (as I, too, am on the no-call list) she became anxious & even more pushy re: the "limited time frame to take advantage of this awesome deal."  I asked to have her contact number & last name so I could verify her employment & association with Hilton, then call back to get said "awesome deal."  She would not divulge but offered to hold while I called the number she gave me.  I did just that & some yahoo answered on the first ring & asked for the employee ID number.  Now, is it just me or does that seem fishy too??  Bottom line.... my sense is this is a total scam aimed at obtaining personal information.  Hilton, you owe me 20 minutes of my life back!  Oh, & I will NOT be staying at any Hilton-associated hotel again.
