These are robocalls from a programmed database of contact numbers, harvested from many different sources, and all without the owner's permission. They are NOT legit because such calls are completely in violation of the Federal DNC registry. NOTHING you say or do, whether answering (not recommended!) or ignoring them will remove your number from their database. Instead, you need to install a product that will protect you and your privacy from these infernal leeches. I strongly recommend http://nomorobo.com which is completely free, easy to set up, and has worked quite well for me.

For those of you having sympathy for working stiffs, and need a pick me up. Post your number here. I'd love to call a bunch of times and say "have a nice day" to you.

Received call this a.m. from them. Gentleman was polite but still annoying because he did not seem to hear me the first couple of times when I tried to tell him my family was not in a position to consider these offers.
I called Marriott Customer Service. Told them I am a MR Member but had no interest in receiving these calls.
Had me call 800-845-5279 and tell the Rep to take off list. He requested one piece of verification info and then told me we would be removed for 3 years.
Even if you have a relationship with a company the FTC Do Not Call rules allow you to opt out of calls from these companies if you make a request to them.http://www.business.ftc.gov/documents/alt129- ... -provisions-tsr

A discounted vacation--just have to attend a 90 minute presentation selling time shares.
Miss Ann 2014-04-25 17:17:02 Unknown
Legitimate vacation offers from Marriott. Been taking advantage of visiting some great locations through them for several years. The drawback is you have to sit through 90 minute timeshare presentation sometime during your visit. Other than that, it's actually a good deal!

So: you pro-callers work for Mariott huh? Kinda wasted your money on that BA in History. Maybe next year you get promoted to Head of Annoying People..

Caller id identified the call as Marriott. Hung up and left no message.
Chet 2014-03-17 18:23:18 Unknown
I told them that I would be happy to take their vacation only if I could do it in the next 14 days. They asked why and I told them it was because I was about to serve a 2 year sentence for beating up a telemarketer.
No more calls......

Called and told me my husband was Juat at their property. Wanted to "invite" us back for a complementary stay. Who shares private info like that?!!! Selling timeshare.

Marriott Vacation Club pitching the sale of timeshares in Florida. Caller said I was eligible to stay several nights at a Marriott property near Orlando or at the beach in exchange for sitting through a 90 minute presentation.
The caller had my Marriott Rewards number, which I presume came from Marriott records, and since I have an existing business relationship with Marriott by virtue of having stayed with them, it may or may not be legal for them to contact me by phone to attempt to sell timeshares.
The caller was polite enough and didn't try to argue when I said I wasn't interested, asked to be put on the firm's "Do Not Call" list, and told him I was going to hang-up.

Marrriott rewards called and wanted me to pay $199 to secure any marriott vacation club in the United States with no blackouts. I asked If I can call back and they said no. I hung up.

If you don't want me to know that you are calling me, then don't bother, no name......ha... No answer.

All people he did was provide the facts, as he saw them. No one likes to be peppered with calls. If it was that important, why didn't they leave a vm or not hang up?
Tom 2013-07-10 03:50:39 Unknown
I see that the "Marrioitt free vacation" callers are at it again after a long layoff. I have no idea if they are legitimate or not, but if they are, they can leave a message or send a letter. Their repeated hang up calls makes me believe this is some sort of a scam. Regardless, I look at them as a "pita" and I don't mean the PITA animal rights terrorists, who are another pain in the rectal area. Both of these callers are to be avoided!
Ann Noid 2013-03-30 19:54:24 Unknown
I got their call - doesn't say Marriot on the ID all it says is Florida. Yeah they sounded legit with some person info they spouted. But after I said, 'I don't do phone offers, mail me something' The gal said a tad huffily; "Thank you" and hung up.
They don't have to mail their offers to everyone. If they do get you on the phone they can then mail you an offer. But I'm not going to be pressed into making a vacation choice even at 80% off and give out any credit info over the phone with out talking to my partner, who was the one who actually 'won' the offer. So really how legit is that? Sorry but if it smells and acts like a scam it most likely is a scam - I don't care what big name they use.
What's up with calling during the work day when said partner isn't at home anyway? Sniff, sniff.

Just call your lawyer after more than one call espec. if your tel. no. is on the DO NOT CALL list. I think the damages are $10,000 per call per federal laws.

constant hounding calls from marriott
Paula 2012-10-12 16:31:47 Unknown
This is the Marriott, I actually did purchase a vacation from them. Yes you have to view the property (90 minute tour usually in a room the show pictures etc.) They're not the high pressure like others I've dealt with.
You can stay at some lovely places at a cheap price. I got this call today to confirm and I didn't answer because I didn't know the number but they left a message. You have to earn a certain amount of money and you can only view 3 times in a lifetime, this is my third time doing it so it's really not a bad deal. I've been to Aruba and St. Thomas so far.

mll 2012-08-27 20:30:12 Unknown
they call me too but i did not sign up, fill out a card or leave my number anywhere. i have not stayed in a marriott in years. if i don't answer after 2 attempts then they should stop calling, they know they just harassing me after that or just leave me a message, if i don't return the call then stop calling me.

Marriott Vacations Club. I can attest that these guys are 100% legit and are indeed affiliated with Marriott timeshares, unlike many other "vacation package" spammers.
FYI nobody "wins" anything they are simply selling you a package of nights at their timeshare property. You buy a heavily discounted 5night vacation at studio or 1BR and in return you agree to sit through a 90-minute sales presentation. There is no obligation to buy - we never have (why do so when they keep selling us cheap weeks?)
We have previously purchased 5-night trips to Hawaii, though I gather they sell Orlando and other locations. But the Hawaii timeshares are the best deal, you would be hard pressed to find a hotel room at half the price. Of course you have to listen to a 90 minute presentation and be able to say no...

Sounds like this is the phone solicitor's own pitch.
Do you not get it! people don't want to be bothered with a pitch of any kind but left along. People who are looking for hotel accommodations and stays at places are savvy enough to look them up on their own on the internet.
I suggest you all as a company use the internet to market and save money and time on annoying phone solicitor marketers and you will ultimately stop pissing people off.......................

THIS THREAD HAS EXISTED FOR 5 YEARS NOW. IF THIS WAS A "SCAM" OR A "BOILER ROOM" DON'T YOU THINK IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SHUT DOWN BY NOW? TAKE OFF YOUR TIN FOIL HATS AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A CHEAP STAY AT A HIGH END RESORT. THEN BUY THE TIMESHARE LOL.

The Marriott called. Don't call no more, please.
