Yes legacy bank is a real bank. They are sending out mass texts hoping someone does bank with them and fall for it. If your cell phone number is a local number, then you will get the texts. It has been reported to the bank and the attorney general's office.

Also received the same text....sent them a 'colorful' reply and told them what they could do with their scam attempts!

SAYS THAT IT IS LEGACY TEXAS AND THAT IT HAS SUSPENDED MY ATM DEBIT CARD AND TO CALL 407 910 1333 ATTEND THIS ISSUE.  TRACKED THE NUMBER AND IT IS A NUMBER FROM FLORIDA AND I DON'T EVEN HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS SO CALLED BANK IN TEXAS.  SOUND LIKE A SCAM TO GET PERSONAL INFORMATION, DON'T GIVE OUT.

I got a text message about 15 minutes ago saying the same thing but from the 877 area code. I immediately googled it because I figured some loser decided to start some scam. It was from alert@swc.com

I got the text too "LegacyTexas Bank Alert" and it said to call 817-260-0499. The scams are getting craftier, that's a local area code for me. I don't have an account with that bank so I went to the bank's website. Sure enough, on the home page it said FRAUD ALERT about folks receiving the texts.
Lesson here is, NEVER CALL A PHONE NUMBER SENT TO YOU ABOUT BANKING INFO! EVEN IF IT'S A LOCAL NUMBER!

I am also a sprint user who has recv'd several text messages saying my "ATM_DEBIT_CARD"  for Legacy Texas Bank has been suspended and to call 877 275 5094 to reactivate my card or 407 910 1333 to attend to this issue.  The addresses the messages are being sent from are jjbxwh@messaging.sprintpcs.com & huljsd@messahing.sprintpcs.com.

I got a text from this number yesterday, 9-8-09.  I called the number back just to see what the recording would say-knew it would be a recording.  I can not believe that anyone would actually do as requested, give your card number...  I do not even use my card as a debit card.  I was a bit angry because I know this scam most likely has worked on someone...  I still want to report this to the police to help prevent identity theft!

Got the same message last night on my cell phone; I ignored it cuz I figured it was bogus; never even heard of Legacy Texas; then my husband tells me this morning that he had that same message on his phone.  Told him it was bogus but I would check it out on the internet later.  Scammer averted......

I recieved a text at 3:06 this am from Legacy Texas stating my debit card had been susoended. The text said to call (407) 910-1333 to attend this issue.

Received same text early a.m. hours - NOT Applicable for my information either.  SCAM!

I received this message at 3:21 this morning.  I called the local police department.  The officer that came to my home said even HE received the same message.  The first question he asked was "Do you have Sprint?"  This has to be something with Sprint.  My next thing to do is call them.  I have my Texas Debit Card for child support and thought that was it, but I DID NOT enter my info.  I called them and they advised NOT US.  This is just crazy.  There is a website you can visit to report this that I got from the Fort Worth PD.  The website is www.ic3.gov    I have already made my report to them.  You might want to do the same.

got a text at 6:05 a.m. from legacy bank of texas. i called the #, which is based in florida. an automated link asked for my bank card #. i hung up and called my bank. it's a scam

Lol same here... i got mine at midnight. I am unemployed and thought it was my debit card for unemployement, i almost did have a heart attack.

I just got the same text msg...dont even have a legacy bank card...figure it was a scam...thxs for verifying what I already thought..wasnt going to call them anyways but how do these jerks get my number and how can i stop it

Love this site.  Confirmed here my suspicion it's a scam.  First indicator was if it's a Texas organization then why the Florida number?  Second clue, I don't bank with Legacy Texas.  Third, there's no reason any of my financial tools would be suspended.  Fourth, times are tough 'n folks are trying anything to get money.  Fifth, googled Legacy Texas and found nothing.  Sixth, came here and found all of you all's reports.

It's great to see a group of people looking out for the commone good.

Got the same text with the 407-910-1333 but figured it's a scam...I have never heard of Legacy Texas. Sad to think some people would put thier card number in and not even realize the "bank" doesn't exsist!
