Stop calling me....

Number 407-966-4482 came in under caller ID, Kissimmee, FL - there was a message on our answer machine from Babette (?) speaking extremely fast stating that this call was for (unknown person) and that he was to call ARS National Services at 800-232-1258 x 01054 - or something like that.  Obviously, file 13 got the message ... get it???  Don't call!

Just got a new unpublished number this week and this number called at least twice a day for the past few days.  I called back and spoke to a man who said it was ARS and if I gave him my phone number, he would let me know why they called.  I gave my number and he asked if I was Francis.  I told him no and there was no one at this number with that name and to remove my number from their database and stop calling.  He said he would take care of it immediately.  A couple of hours later, the same number showed up on my caller ID so I answered it.  It was a woman asking for Francis.  I told her I had already called and told them there was no one with that name at this number and to stop calling.  She said she would take care of it.  We'll see.  If they call again I'm going to report them!

These are not telemarketers. They are debt collectors, they will deceive you that they represent your bank bot don't beleive them. They are using local numbers to hide the origination of the call.

I get calls from these people all the time. Usually though they have a lot of spoofed numbers, and all use "WKISSIMMEE FL" for the CID, at least I get that on my Via Talk line.

So, I just blocked all those with that CID since normal people have names or others non generic stuff.

I have had a few missed calls from this #. They do not leave a message and I don't answer. I owe a lot of companies and it is a similar story with all of them. Some local area code numbers and usually they don't leave a message.

This appears to be a semi-local number used by ARS Nation Collections in order to make the phone ID appear to be accepting a "local" number.

Basically, it's yet another form of "lying" by do***e bag collection agencies to get around the letter of FTC law. this number is a "piggy-back" provided by "Smart City" Communications [should be called "Village Idiot" Communications.

I got some 13 year old sounding woman on the answering machine calling herself "Heidi" [yeah, uh huh...] who "had important information on file that she needed help with" and that she "was simply looking for information regarding the file that has come across her desk"... She then gave the ubiquitous 1800 number [incidentally- linked to ARS through this and other invaluable sites!] and a bogus reference number [people, think- it's used only to get you to call- she'll ask for a name, number, address and tele- and since YOU called, you'll feel obligated to do so... One four letter word for that... TRAP!] don't bother calling back.

People- aka "Collections Pukes- you need to get better/newer dunning books/notes- I can read through you saps like onion skin over a newspaper.

I do not know who these people are or where they got my number, but I am not late on anything. I do not owe MasterCard and when I have tried to call these people back, you can't. It is busy and will not go through.

Do exactly what Nick says above - The other option is to set your computer to dial them about once every half hour - or set it to run constantly, hang up and dial again.  Let it run for about a week or more.  Sure - it ties up a phone line but do this when you aren't using your phone.  Get friends to do it as well...

They keep calling but they don't leave a message.  When I call back, I get a busy signal.  Sounds fishy to me.

Call the company that services that phone number by putting a free ad on craigslist . The company number is 407-828-6600. press zero (0) for the operator. Ad can be a hot selling item for very cheap. They will start getting tons of calls . Its the only way they learn to stop calling you and you therefore jam their lines and thus they lose business. Ive done it before to a telemarketing company that kept calling 10 times a day and I jammed their 800 number. You cant call this number but instead call the company that has the number and it will work. It will teach them to stop servicing telemarketing companies that do nothing but bother people.

person called didnt know who it was so i looked up area code ... said florida are so i said hmmm could be a cousin called them back but it just kept ringing ......
