It's a vacation company out of Orlando. I'm a Wyndham owner. I don't think it's through Wyndham, they usually call my house phone. They'll pitch a free or low cost vacation and then try to set up a meeting with a timeshare company. We have been owners for over 6 years and have enjoyed it, but you need to negotiate to get a good deal......

I get this call at work (last call's last four digits were 4715) from Wyndham saying that I was referred by someone I don't even know. I have asked them repeatedly to stop calling me, but they won't. I informed them that they are harassing me and that I would be calling the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau.

This call is from a point time share. I am an owner, only because we went and we talked to customers that they already had and they all seemed very happy. We are happy with our timeshare, and have had it for about 14 years now. My wife and family could not normally afford to stay at some of these places, but with the timeshare and buying a week's worth of points, we could. And yes, they get they phone numbers from friends, co-workers and family members who give them the name and the phone numbers. I gave my brother's name out several years, and he uses these to take his vacations every year. His are free, since they are trying to sell him something. He just knows how for he and his wife to go, and then he knows how to say no to them. They are fair about it, and they don't really like hard push tactics. My brother has been all over Florida and to Hawaii, so he does answer his phone and he talks to them. It's up to you. Call them what you want, but you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. And remember, they are getting the numbers legitimately from someone that you know who knows your number. You will get enough bad calls, and that is what automatically turns you against these people. It is worth it, if you want a free stay someonewhere nice. My brother sometimes stacks 3 visits toghether so that he gets a week at different places. I don't know how he does it, but he is retired and has more time than me.

I have received two calls from that number. I just called them back and they advised it was Wyndam Vacation Resorts. I asked how they got my
number and they advised that some family member must have given it to them. I then requested they take me off of their list. I guess I will
see if that happens.

It's weird cause I know of two people who have been getting these calls here in Indiana. Don't bother answering it, it's a scam, and to make it worse, even if you tell them that you're not interested, they'll still call you. Good to see that it's already been reported. :)

I just got a call from this number, wanting me to go down to Orlando Florida, to stay in a vacation hotel.
I asked them how they found me, and they said I was reffered to by a family member, whom goes by the name of Michele. But I don't have a family member by the name of Michele :D

This number just called.. no message.. don't answer
| anchorangel 2008-03-26 23:27:54 Unknown |
This is a timeshare resort company. They call to people who have been referred to them by those who have gone on their vacations or have purchased timeshares through their company. I get random calls because I am an owner, and friends have received calls because I've referred them. It is annoying, but it could be that one of your friends thinks you might enjoy a fairly cheap vacation.
| gman 2008-01-24 15:23:08 Telemarketer |
Called me twice. Told them the first time I wasn't interested, but they called again anyway. In my case it is some resort that tries to sell timeshares. Someone should report them to the FCC for rule violations. This is a scummy cell phone company that allows telemarketers to hide behind them so they can't be traced easily.

I keep getting a call from this number. I never pick it up because I don't know anyone from that area code and they NEVER leave a message. Very annoying. Now that I have read the other posts, I have an idea of who they are and I will continue to let my voicemail pick up.
