Got a carpet-cleaning service call from this number on 2-1-2010. When I called it to ask to be removed, the telephone company's robot responder said, "I'm sorry, this telephone number is not in service at this time." Anybody know how this telemarketer is able to do this?

Hi, same story as above--Same number, same message about carpet cleaning. And yes, I get similar recordings from other numbers as well, although at times from "private caller" (no caller ID).

one last note - they may be using more than one 408 phone number - I don't think there are any real phone numbers that start with 104...

I am repeatedly getting calls (and voicemail messages) from a carpet-cleaning company.  When I do get them in person, they usually hang up just after I ask them to remove me from their calling list.  They seem to be very good at avoiding that.
