I have recieved a few phone calls from a slightly differant number (408) 256-8099. the man has a ver thick hindi accent and in both messages he has left he has said that his name is Officer Jack Wilson. that If I do not contact him federal officers would be showing up at my place of work or my home to "drag me you to the courts", thats a direct quote. He says that he is going to arrest myself and my boss. I have contacted a lawyer. I have printed all of my bank statements. He has the last 4 of my social my cell phone number and only god knows what else.
When i called the number back he said his name was Charles Green and that he was calling from the law office of David Harrison. And when I confronted him about the differance in names he hung the phone up.

I just got the same call - same message. Had me pretty upset but I didn't know what the heck was going on. He said the sheriff was on his way to pick up my boss and he was going to send someone out to pick me up. He then called me back but my phone said it was a call from 911- I was all messed up then - he told me he was on officer and was on his way to drag me to the courthouse. I asked for his name and number- he gave me one name and when I asked him to repeat it- he gave me a different name. I said I am going to make some calls and someone will call you back. He wanted to know who I was calling and if I called someone I would be in more trouble. I called our police department and the officer said it's a scam and he called them and they were a***s to him. My sister-in-law just had a liver transplant a few days ago so I have been uptight about that so this couldn't have happened at a worst time.

This is obviously a scam. These people ave called from several different numbers. If you look these numbers up, Lots of people say the exact same thing! These people call and say the exact same thing to every person, they just make up different names. If you call them back they come up with a new name. Ive heard from jacob jonesand sevreal other individuals since friday! each of them sound exactly the same!

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.

If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller?s instructions. Rather, you should:

?Notify your banking institutions.
?Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
?Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
?File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:

?Never give your Social Security number?or personal information of any kind?over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.
?Be suspicious of any e-mail with urgent requests for personal financial information. The e-mail may include upsetting or exciting but false statements to get you to react immediately.
?Avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages that request personal information.
?Ensure that your browser is up-to-date and security patches have been applied.
?Check your bank, credit, and debit card statements regularly to make sure that there are no unauthorized transactions. If anything looks suspicious, contact your bank and all card issuers.
?When you contact companies, use numbers provided on the back of cards or statements

The phone is a cell number provided by Level 3 Communications.  Their fraud department is working on the case.  If you have any further problems, please call Erin Jackson in that fraud department at 720-888-0928.  You will actually reach her or her voice mail.

Good luck.

I got a call this morning from someone named Charles Green and Steve Rogers with Law Office of David Harrison-California with HEAVY Indian/Hindu accents.

"This message is intended for ____ ______. ______ This is Michael from the America law office. My reason for calling you is to let you know that there is a lawsuit filed against you. So you going to find the officer at your mailing address to pick you up from there and to take you into custody for legal hearings. If you really want to help yourself and you want to know what the case is all about make you you give me a call at my number (408) 216-8937. DON'T DISREGARD THIS MESSAGE NOW, YOU WILL GO ON TO FACE THE LEGAL CONSEQUENCES. Return my call this is Sean Michael. Bye and have a great day."

They too had an OLD ADDRESS and last 4 of my social security number.
When I asked how could I resolve this matter I was told the following:

TO WRITE ON A PIECE OF PAPER I AM AUTHORIZING THEM TO COLLECT A DEBT AND SIGN THE RIGHT HAND SIDE AND SEND THEM A COPY OF MY DRIVERS LICENSE. THEN PURCHASE A PRE-PAID VISA CARD TO SEND THEM A PAYMENT.

I WOULD HAVE TO DO THIS BEFORE THEY WOULD GIVE OR SEND ME ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THIS SO-CALLED MATTER.

IF I DID NOT DO THIS, THEN AN OFFICER WAS COMING TO TAKE ME TO COURT.

I work for the Police Department and brought the matter to my supervisors. I am obtaining a lawyer & join to stop these harrassing calls.

I got the following message on my voice mail from San Jose, CA... a man with a combination Indian/Carribean accent (weird):

"This message is intended for ____ ______. ______ This is Michael from the America law office. My reason for calling you is to let you know that there is a lawsuit filed against you. So you going to find the officer at your mailing address to pick you up from there and to take you into custody for legal hearings. DON'T DISREGARD THIS MESSAGE NOW, YOU WILL GO ON TO FACE THE LEGAL CONSEQUENCES. Return my call this is Sean Michael. Bye and have a great day."

I realized that there is NO PRISON FOR SIMPLY OWING MONEY. AND ALSO, I AM going to check with a lawyer to make sure there are no warrants for other things I am missing.

But yeah, these guys suck. They're brutal.

these people called me.  First they refused to tell me where they were calling from and refused to take my attorney's information.  He told me to hang up and wait for an officer.  Then an hour or so later someone called pretending to be from the sheriffs office.  They even gave me a badge number, but it was fake!

got a call from a guy today from this number.   Telling me to call immediately and if I don't he wishes me good luck.  Sounds like the same speech as other phone # complaints I have seen on this.   If anyone else has gotten calls from this number please let me know.   He is calling me by my maiden name and I have been married for almost 6 years, so I don't even know what this is about.
