says santa clara county on phone ID

Missed call.  Who are they???

The call my sister received from that number was from Santa Clara County In Home Services. But you can't return the call it will always say disconnected. I don't know how they do that but they don't want the call returned so it comes up disconnected when you try to return the call..

i keep getting the same number 408-289-8140 every 2hrs & i send it right to my v.m. i blocked my number & called back it was disconnected

The call from 408-289-8140 originates from the public telephone of a Social Services building in San Jose.  It is in the lobby waiting area, which makes it easily accessible to everyone and the ideal phone to use for mischief.

My sister received a call from In Home Services of Santa Clara County from that number. But after talking to the woman that had called she tried calling back to change her appointment and it was disconnected. They just don't want you to be able to call them back or have their number. What a great system huh?

The 408-289-8140 has to be a scam or stolen number. It is listed as a land line from AT&T and according to the locater near San Pedro and Hedding which puts it right next to the courthouse.
Not sure who or what it is, but does say it is disconnected...
Hopefully next time I can catch it and will add what I learn then about it.

Me again...they just tried again TWO MORE TIMES! Forwarded them to voice mail, and will continue to do so w/ that number every time I see it. Let's hope they're not too relentless!
