I have gotten 3 calls from this number in two days.  No message left on my voicemail.  I had my computer serviced at Best Buy.  I have no idea why HP would be calling, the replacement part was sent directly to Best Buy, and Best buy is responsible for sending back the old part.  WTF!!!  I think that I have an important missed call and it's just this stupid number.   I am going to write to HP and tell them that if I had known they were going to be such a nuisance, that I would have bought a Dell.

It is HP Product support, they called me to get my credit card number to ship me a new printer, so if I didn't return my old one they could charge me.

This number called twice and when I called it back it said number is not is service.

Edit from the post above, it must have something to do with HP because I got my HP computer worked on in the past week.

This spam caller called my cell phone at 10:57 AM EST on February 25, 2008 and did not leave any message.

A good way to handle calls that you do not recognize the number is to ignore them and let the call go to voice mail and leave a message. If it is a valid call, they will leave a message... spam callers normally don't leave messages.

They have called 9 times sence Monday I haven't answered their calls because they call when I am trying to sleep.

Called 5:00 CST on a Saturday and left no message.  Called back and got a Number Not In Service message.  Did a look and found the number is from San Jose, CA.  Came on Caller ID as SERV ESCALATION.

I also just got my HP computer back. I'm not sure where it went, maybe Canada...but I recieved 5 calls today from the number but never got to the phone or was busy.

I keep getting calls from that phone number!!! I never answer, and finally today I did bc I was so annoyed. And he said it was HP, so I asked to call back on my land line (cause my CELL is expensive... I'm not sure how they got my cell....). AND they never called my land line. ANNOYING

these people have called me 6 times and never leave a message. The first time i answered and a foreign guy was asking for a bob woods. Told him there is noone by that name. 5 minutes later they called again told them dont call me anymore. They still call. Who are they and why are they calling everyday

i dont have a hp computer but these people keep calling. u call back the number is out of service. whoever they are i would not give them any info of anything. they keep calling and the one time i did answer they asked for a  bob woods. they call my cell  daily. These calls have got to be scams to get personal info!!!

Have called 2 times and left no messages.  I do not own (and would not own) anything by HP.  Annoying as #$@#$@.

IT calls me several times during the 18 july 2008. I come from Quebec canada.

We had a problem with a brand new battery.  Did online chat with HP and they were going to send us out a new battery.  They told us that we would get a call to get credit card info and such.  Well that was last night today we get a call from this number.  I never answer if I don't recognize the caller.  I figured I better jump on line and see who was calling.  After reading posts we contacted HP directly (online) and were given a phone number to call.  Once I got through the STUPID computer voice, I wound up speeking to an acctual person with an actual american sounding voice.  He was extreamly helpful and told me they have gotten complaints about this number.  He was able to take care of everything so that I don't need to deal with the 408 number.  I would never give my number to somone that hasn't proven to me they are who they say they are and why cooperate with outsourcing.  Call HP directly and make them help you.  If nothing else I am going to have fun yelling at the 408 number if they call back becuse he said they should be able to see that it is taken care of if they are ligit.

Today must be my day I guess the "do not call list" is really working. This number called twice so far today never left a message so I picked it up on call two and only heard a click on the other end. I am changing my message on voice mail now!!!

I also had to contact HP for service to my notebook and was expecting a different number to show up on my caller ID, but instead got Service Escalation. I was suspicious at first because I had to give them my credit card info.
