Got a call from an older woman from this number. I immedietely asked who it was before saying anything else. She tried to confirm my telephone number, but when I asked who it was without confirming my number, she said,"Forget it!" and hung up. Sounded sketchy, so looked up the number. I have not posted on any job site, so I have no idea how they got my number.

Thanks for the info. I just got a call today. Unfortunately, legitimate job boards and the like get their unfair share of companies that are irrelevant to your job search. Fortunately, these types of callers are not too pesky and go away after being ignored once or twice.

Like others on this site, I also received a call from Jamal from Bankers life and casualty after posting a resume on monster jobs. I didn't apply for this position as I'm not interested in working in sales AT ALL. Since using monster I have received lots of emails and phone calls for jobs I didn't apply for or that turn out to be sketchy sales or money laundering positions.
I've avoided any issues from the info I get from people posting about their similar experiences on sites like this one. I'm glad people are sharing info about these organizations with each other... wouldn't want anyone to get screwed.

Got a call from Jamal from "Bankers Life Insurance Company" concerning an "available career opportunity". I refreshed my resume on Monster and Jobfox a couple of days ago, so I'm guessing they found it at one of those places. However, I'm clearly looking for an Electrical Engineering position, so the sum total of effort I've exerted on this is to post this message.

I also got a call from them as well. I never even sent them a resume in the first place so idk how they got my number. The lady could barley speak English.

Bankers Life is an actual company. I worked with them for a few weeks. HIGH pressure sales and their customers are Sernior Citzens. Unless you like pushing around opld people on the phone - do not approach them.

Its from a Company called Bankers life, they offer a job with their "sales" company. It sounds like a scam to me.. sorta like a pyramid scheme. I dont know but I am terrible at sales.
