Update to my last post:  It was a head hunter from Net Polarity regarding a contract job.

Just got a call too, but refused to answer.  From reading the posts, people just seem so desperate for money these days.

This number just called me. I did not answer, and they left a short message (5 seconds) on my phone. It sounded like someone driving with the phone on speakerphone and their voice was too far away to understand.

They must have been shutdown.  Just got a call, technology headhunter.

Verizon wireless.  Reminder to pay cell bill.

This number called me, i just don't pick up any numbers anymore that i don't know. Something similar already happened to me, said I owed a debt and if i didnt pay over the phone i would have a court date and that it would be more costly to go to court and pay fees then to just pay over the phone. Well i paid thinking i was doing a good thing but the more time passed the more it sounded fishy so that night i called and cancelled my bank card. they called really upset said they were on the east coast and they closed at 4pm est. well they got so pissed off they started calling me up til 6pm but it was 9pm est if they were telling the truth...so they kept harrassing me saying i owed them $ and the sheriff was going to come and arrest me. I dont remember the lady's name but she had an assistant that would leave a msg and would always say good luck to me and also a guy would call saying good luck as well that i was going to be arrested and prosecuted. they even started calling me from a 408 in california cuz that is my area code and said they had me on recording saying i was going to pay them blah blah. but they never ever had a call that started with "this call is being recorded" . either way none of this makes sense and its very harrassing.

the people that called had all my info too and I cant remember the website but the company they said had a webpage under construction and it was so badly put together, it looks like a drawing that a 4 yr old could have made. so yeah, i dont pick up the phone calls i dont recognize anymorel, but i am guessing it is the same people trying to get me to pick up a call from a familiar area code. these people are freaking crazy and thirsty and i hear that their tactics are to be very offensive, defensive, aggressive and try to make you panic.

This number called me many times. I did not pick up the phone, and they did not leave any message. How can I lock this number out from calling me?

They are a scavenger debt collector. Ignore them.

I have had these folks call me also, and a reference that had been used only one time.. now I do not know if the businesses are connected, however I have filed FTC complaints, on that phone call business, and The only company I used that reference for was a what appears to be a scumbag auto finnance company, who tries to employ bad business tactics, to included: multiple repossession companies, even though they were informed of the where abouts of the vechile that died in the middle of no where arizona, (The reposession folks are almost always the scapegoats for the company, because they do not give them the full information concerning the account... they call references with threats, and even though they know my address, they keep calling the references (Illegale Actions), and they have violated other portions of the FDCPA.  Ias stated abouve, I don't know if the issues are related, however that phone number was only given out to one company.  The Auto Finnance Company that I was dealing with is: WESTLAKE FINNANCIAL.

Same thing as everyone else.  I called my local court and they said to ignore them its a scam.  Alex hungup on me too.  Now he won't even answer.  also they don't even have a voicemail.

i just used prank dial-er on them using their phone number as my number I also got these calls all day they blocked my number from calling them so this is why I used prank dial-er to get them his name was Alex and was wanting to know how i was calling him from his number...lol it is a very BIG SCAM and i am turning them in

I just received a call from this number stating that they're going to be sending an officer to my place of employment to come and arrest me. They're stating that there are several alligations against me and I told them that I had no idea what they were talking about, the guy in the other end started to get hostile towards me. I was polite to the gentlemen but he was really rude to me. All that I could understand drom this guy was that the state of california is issuing a arrest warrent out for me for check fraud and other federal crimes. At first I was really upset. Now, I'm pissed cuz I know that you can't be arrested for a civil matter. What a bunch idiots. I think they should be arrested to impersonating a peace officer.

These people are calling me saying I have 3 major charges from a payday loan I took out under my social. I don't even have a checking account to get a payday loan. I have not had a checking account in over three years. They are threatening to send officers to my home and/or work place to arrest me and my manager. I don't appreciate scams like this. I have three kids and I am going to school and I do not have time for some fake people to be calling me hassling me for something I have not even done. Something should be done about this immediately!! These kind of things should not be able to happen.

I have had the same thing happen on the same day and also before. When I talked to them the first time they kept being rude until I told them I did not even have a checking account to have a payday loan and then they acted like they were not interested in talking to me anymore. I had the same kind of call you had on the same day also. I also have three kids and have no idea what this is but I don't like knowing that someone has my social. Stupid computers and stupid people!! Something needs to be done about this and fast. I have not had a checking account for over three years.. This is a scam. It has to be. The first call I got I called the number back and it said the mailbox was full so I just happened to figure out the right code to manage the mail box and listened to the messages and they are doing this to a lot of people. There should be a way to stop people like this.

Been getting calls from an officer John Morris from this number claiming they will be taking me to jail if I don't respond to their law suit. Anybody out there, what can we do about this freakin scam? They are calling me at work and it is so embarrasing because they think I'm some kind of fugitive since they leave this same message when I'm not at work.

These people been calling me for like two months I changed my number, and they found out what the number was their hackers. I called and advised them that I had the local sheriff department on the line and they hung up. I also advised that I was going to get the FBI involved to shut their little scam down and a man just kept repeating hello, hello,hello than hung up the phone. These people are full of s*** but I wonder how they get my social also my account number......I will get the FBI involved.

i just received a call @10:14am 7/8/2011 from this same number (408)3856956 saying his an officer and needed to get an hold with me regarding my social security number and to call him back

i got a call saying for myself and attourney to call them back saying they were going to my house to arrest me i called them back and told them i was taking to the sherrifs office to report them and they hung up

I got a call from an Officer Mason, not stating what county or state.  He stated that there were several allegations against me and they were going to send officers to my house.  I have no idea what it is about or who he claims made allegations.

These guys violate almost ALL of the things listed below.  They get extremely PISSED and have called me bi*** and told me to shut up.  The scary thing is they have my SSN.... I have NO IDEA who they are

   Contacting you by postcard, or contacting you in any way that would disclose to a third party that they are debt collectors.

I got a call from officer mason, in Kansas threatening to take me and my boss or co-workers to court cuz our company "HighVanity Co.*". And myself had hard legal alligations and something else "I couldn't understand him very well"........like Really really, why ? The one's who come up with this crap Really think they can pull a fast one on us?

Has anyone paid the callers from 408-385-6956? I really want to find out what company name shows up on your card statement when you pay them.  Even if they're calling from India or somewhere and giving you a fake company name on the phone, someone in the US must bill for them -- I really want to find out who it is.

I got a call in May telling me they were a lawyers office in California and I was going to be arrested within the hour because of a payday loan.   What happened did you pay them any money?  I did have a payday loan but it was 5 years ago

Just Received Yet Another Call June 29, 2011 at 1:12pm EST from Officer Mason of the Sheriffs Office at CYBER LAW OFFICE for the INTERNET saying that I received a PAYDAY LOAN from CASH LOANS WHICH WAS DEPOSITED INTO MY ACCOUNT AND NEVER PAID IT BACK, LIE, LIE, LIE, LIE no such thing ever happened.  I WOULD NOT TAKE OUT A PAYDAY LOAN BECAUSE I AM UNEMPLOYED.  I HAVE BEEN UNEMPLOYED FOR AWHILE so i do  not understand how I could have taking out SAID LOAN BEING I AM UNEMPLOYED.  NO MONEY HAS EVER EVER EVER BEEN DEPOSITED INTO MY ACCT, i keep very good track of my acct and I NEVER EVER NEVER EVER SEEN ANY MONEY GO INTO MY ACCOUNT FROM CASH LOANS OR ANY OTHER LOAN COMPANIES FOR THAT MATTER.  OBVIOUSLY MY EMAIL ADDRESS AND SOCIAL SECURITY # HAVE BEEN HACKED.  OFFICER MASON, said that TOMORROW MORNING WHEN I AM IN COURT I NEED TO PAY $5484.87 FOR BAIL CHARGES PLUS $1290.98 BACK TO CREDITOR & IF I FAIL TO DO SO I WILL BE PUT BEHIND BARS FOR 2 yrs OR LONGER AND I WILL BE BLACKLISTED.  B***S***, SCAM I BELIEVE!!!!

I just received a call on June 29, 2011 at 12:38pm EST from supposedly an Officer Mason of the Sheriff's Office saying that there were Hard Legal Allegations against me regarding my ss# and that they were going to send officers to my place of employment and my house to arrest me and bring me to court for my hearing and if I did not call them back right away they were going to pursue this and be at my house within the hour to arrest me, when I tried to call this number back it said your international dialing account is not set up, yeah ok I live in Rhode Island and Officer Mason is supposedly calling from California what's up with that.  I feel as though this is a HUGE SCAM and someone has been able to access my social security number and use it for various things.  I feel as though this is very wrong and needs to be taking care of AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, OBVIOUSLY it is happening to alot of people, I am reading 4 other messages just from within the last week or so saying the same thing.  PLEASE SOMEONE GET DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS!!!! I have 3 children and I do not want them to be worrying about me being arrested for something, THAT I DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT IT IS!!!!

No one can be arrested for debt. This is a civil matter and has to be handled throught the courts. Judgements and Garnishments are possible for vaild debt, but due process must be completed beforehand. Always ask for verifcation to be mailed to you and never give any information to the caller over the phone, if they are legitimate, they will have current information to send verifcation to you.

Caller identified himself as officer Mason from the Sheriff's office what county he didnt say . He said I must call this number or I would be arrested . Im getting sick of these jerks who think they can intimidate me. What can be done to stop this and arrest them for posing as law inforcement officers?
