Anybody that worked for Iggy and got scammed only has themselves to blame.  He is now in jail for child support and no longer does Directv installs.  I worked for him until I was shorted about $200.  I immediately stopped any further work until I was reimbursed.  Installers who got scammed out of a couple of weeks of pay are idiots.

Advanced Communication, Smart Circle Int. or whatever name they go by is a joke. As mentioned above, they sell DirecTV at Sams Club, Costco, Wal-Mart, best Buy and several other "big box" stores. Their sales people are trained incorrectly and have no understanding of how a satellite television system works, or is installed. The sales people are trained to "tell you what you want to hear" to get the sale. If you are considering satellite television, look in the phone book and find a "local" dealer....stay away from the 800 numbers. Advanced Comm. has a very high turnover rate with installers and they do not run background checks on their contractors. So....WHO is actually coming to your door??/

I have done install work for advanced communications. They are not allowed to sell their own protection plan per Directv as of late 2012....but they are a legit company generating alot of sales through live reps in Sam's Club,Best Buy, and Walmart stores.

I gave them my visa info, & then they tell me since they are a seperate company, advance communications, that I needed to call them with problems Bc direct woukdnt have it on file. Then I knew I'd been took. So called direct tv, indeed I was scammed... Had to call my bank & get a new setup. Lovely.

This phone number has been calling me every hour, sometimes twice an hour, for two days. I answer and it hangs up on me. When I try to call back, it rings once and disconnects. I'm extremely frustrated and I have no idea how to make it stop. Any ideas?

i worked for this company as a sub..i have bout 7 other techs who worked for them an they are a scam.the protection plan they sell is also a scam.if u get their protection plan its only covered by them not by dtv.they have people at walmart an sams an ect selling dtv.i didnt have a real bad experience with them but i wouldnt recomend working for them as a tech.they are a third party vendor or when gets the sell contracts the job out to another company called true communications now that company is a scam..the owner ignatius griffin is under investigation by the police an dtv corp as well..i honestly would stay away from both these companies.

I've been doing some research on Advanced Communications, and I just stumbled across your post. I am an installer for Directv and can tell you that they are a legitimate company. As are many communication companies they are a subcontracting/sales company, but for the most part from what I've found, they are legit. The $300.00 rebate seems to be a little steep, but from my experience the customer has to apply for the rebate directly after or during installation and not reminded of it on a post call. As for the $69.00, it was probably for the protection plan and offered at a discounted price.
As should anyone, be cautious when these calls are made especially on a post call. They were probably offering the rebates so that you would purchase the protection plan. Then maybe when you refused, they didn't bother sending you the email on the rebate information. Hope that helped.

Exact same thing, that number calls my house at least twice a day, and every time I answer, there is nothing at the other end of the line.  The caller ID says "five 9".  I have no idea who it is calling me, but if its sales, they stink at it

This number kept calling me this afternoon but didn't leave any messages. Curiously, I called back.

ANY company that does not state the company name before placing you on hold is unreliable.

This phone number is a scam. After being on hold for 3 minutes, I was asked to "please leave a message."

The caller said her name was Shana. Told her I was satisfied, with the service and offered me a $71 program called Smart Plan which apparently protects your equipment forever... The company name was Advanced Communications and she said they were an affiliate of DirectTV. I called direct TV and they said they know nothing about them, but had a similar plan for 5.99 a month. Notified the CC company to cancel the transaction and give me a new card. She gave me a call back number of 866-581-9587 ext 56. Check it out see if she's there.

Caller said she was with DirecTV and her name was Trisha; was checking to see if we were still satisfied with it; we've only had it a few weeks.  Then she talked of a $300 rebate from DirecTV for either gas or groceries (our pick) so got my email address to send the rebate info.  Then she discussed a service program costing some $69 to cover a period of 18 months or two years (can't remember right now) which would cover any problems with DirecTV, cost of repair, etc.  I was to receive a couple of emails with rebate info, and when none were received, I got suspious and checked some numbers.
