Didn't pick up the call. They did leave a 47 seconds voice mail. All I got was "Hello are you still there?" twice with 15 seconds pause in between. Male voice sounds like pre-recorded message. Did not know scam has automatic system nowadays.

I picked up and a woman voice (machine) said "Good bye"..  Then hung up.  Stupid.
I called back several time (to scream at them haha).  But no one picked up.

Just like everyone else is mentioning... I'm in Silicon Valley here, and call came into my cell (so who sold off my number?). I've marked my call here on the site as "Telemarketer" but I've certain this is a phishing call scam. I assume at some point victims are confused and say "Yes" to having filled out their fake survey and likely make a promise of either winning something, or promise a possible job opportunity. Likely the scam ends with a compelling fake incentive to entice suckers into giving up personally identifiable information which is used against them later in an entirely different attack vector. Details: Caller ID showed up as Gilroy, CA. (408-413-0916). He said something along the lines of "I'm with [some company that does market research or career placement] and we help match people up with jobs, and I'm following up with you about a survey you recently completed. Is that you sir?" I said what survey? He replied after a pause, "A survey you responded to at WalMart for a $100 gift card about job placement questions". I told him I never go to WalMart so I knew it was BS, and asked his name. (long pause) "Joseph Peters". I said spell it. (long pause) "J as in Jack, O as in Oscar....". I asked him where his call center is and after a long pause he said "I'm in Orlando, Florida." I asked him why he's lying because the number came up out of Gilroy, California. Then I called him "Peter" and asked him another fast series of questions and his pre-recorded snippets got jumbled and he repeated his original introductory line exactly.

I got a call from this number too. The only possibility of this number leak for me is that I tried to clal a number of craigslist.org for a toyota corolla sale (650 771 1171) and I recieved a message that the voice mailbox has not been setup. Did anyone else call that number?

What if you just want to confirm you number to the scammers so they can share it with other scammers and you can get even more junk phone calls? Oh wait, that's what happens if you press 9!

Are you deliberately trying to fool people on this site, or are you just hopelessly stupid?

You could call back the number and there is an option for you to press 9 and enter your phone number if you wish to not be called anymore.

Called saying that I had "filled out an online survey" looking for a job. When I pressed the guy about the name of the website where I supposedly filled out this form, he said he didn't know, just that "he had an entry in his computer" for me. I asked for which employer he was recruiting, and he said he was just going to help me create a free profile for "local jobs". There were really long pauses between me asking him questions and his answers. This smells like a phishing scam.

I don't know from where they got my cell phone number. Hope it doesn't come from the celll phone company or any other source they don't have authorization to call me.
I mean it is really STUPID.  At least they should say something.
